We spent 3 nights at Buffalo Valley while visiting the Duluth area. It is a sports complex with 3 baseball diamonds, volleyball courts, and horseshoe pits. There is a bar and restaurant onsite, which is good because the campground is about 10 miles from downtown Duluth. There are no nearby restaurants to grocery stores that we saw. They have 3 camping loops. The loop of about 20 sites behind the bar/restaurant with full hookup and was dominated by seasonal rentals. There is a loop on the hill that is wooded with water and electric hookups--both back in and pull through sites along with a few tent only sites. We stayed in this loop, and our site was relatively level. Down the hill is the Bison/Buffalo loop. Most of these sites are full sun. After a day and a half of rain, this area had some standing water when we pulled in. The only bathhouse is near the bar/restaurant. It is relatively new and immaculately clean. There are portajons sprinkled throughout the campground. There were no sewer hookups in two of the loops, but there is a mobile dump service on site. There is also a dump station. The manager goes out of his way to ensure you are happy. We stayed during the week, but it sounds like they are very busy on the weekends with ball tournaments and other events. Planning on holding a rally for our RV club here next year. Manager can arrange transportation into Duluth for those who do not tow a vehicle. Best choice of area campgrounds from my perspective for such an event. We camped at Buffalo Valley Camping in a Motorhome.

It was jammed full on a weekend in mid August. Portable toilets were often without toilet paper and need emptying due to so many campers. Seems overpriced for the situation. $43 for a pop up seems high for what you get. Not sure we would use it again. We camped at Buffalo Valley Camping in a Tent Trailer.

We stayed with a large group in the lower campground. The downfalls are that there is no shade there, and no picnic shelter. The upper campground does have lots of trees and shade. Other than that we were very happy with everything. The owners and staff were great. The sites were good sized. The restaurant is nice and the food was good. There are plenty of port-a-potties and they are very clean as was the shower house. We camped at Buffalo Valley Camping in a Travel Trailer.

The campground is a party place and not suitable for families or children. The owners are overly controlling and at times, really rude. There are no sewers and the sites are crowded and lack privacy. The restaurant here handy, but the food was below average and the service was so slow. We won't be back to camp or eat here again. We camped at Buffalo Valley Camping in a Travel Trailer.

Buffalo Valley is about 10 miles from downtown Duluth, but has easy access to I-35, so was ideally located for day trips up the North Shore. BV's RV sites, utilities, roadways, dump station, grounds, restroom & shower building were all well maintained. Note - the showers cost 50 cents for 5 minutes, so bring plenty of quarters with you (also, the motion-detector lights don't come on until after you've entered into the building.) The staff was friendly and accommodating. We were originally assigned RV site #27, but it had rained heavily and this site had low areas with standing water. I called manager; he said we could move to any open site, so I chose #30 which was high and dry with lots of shade. It was a bit of a walk over to BV's restroom/shower building, but several kybos (toilets) are placed all around the CG, which I found were kept cleaner than most. There is a Buffalo campground and a Bison campground (also referred to as the Back- 40). Both have the same site numbers; so it can be confusing. A large number of construction workers were staying in Bison. Buffalo's sites are mostly shady where Bison has very little shade. Part of BV's complex also contains their Buffalo House Restaurant, three ball diamonds, a horseshoe area, basketball and volleyball courts, access to bike trails. We camped at Buffalo Valley Camping in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Their Buffalo House restaurant bar & grill has cascading decks that overlook three ball diamonds, a horseshoe area, basketball and volleyball courts. Restaurant's menu has a good variety of beers and food, with daily specials (the prime rib stroganoff & wild rice soup were delicious); we drank and ate there several times.

This campground is part of a spirits complex and the grounds include a restaurant and bar. ( we recommend the buffalo burger). It a large place with 3 seperate camping areas accommodating tents and all types of RV. You can have a super shady spot or one out in the open. The majority have electric and water. A very clean dump station is available. We stayed 2 nights and would return. We camped at Buffalo Valley Camping in a Motorhome.

Made reservation for full hook-ups and was told on arrival only water/electric sites were available. Stayed 3 nights and camped with friends in adjoining grass pull thru sights that were far from level but well shaded. Convenient toilet facilities were porta-potties. Restaurant and C&W bar on site with softball and horseshoe facilities. Quiet but relatively tight sites.Even though there were not any full hookups available the camp host did offer honey bucket service at the campsites. We camped at Buffalo Valley Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites were spacious with a nice amount of tree cover. They were also level with 50/30 amp service, big rig friendly. The shower facility was very clean and spacious, only draw back was they are coin operated, but for 50 cents you had plenty of time to get cleaned up. Located only 10 min from Duluth with a straight shot down I-35 to town. Enjoyed the bar and restaurant right on the property. Nice place overall and would recommend it. We camped at Buffalo Valley Camping in a Travel Trailer.

We found the park had nice big well leveled spaces. Nice shade. The trains were a problem, loud and often. Only portable toilets in our area. Showers were new and clean but in a different area of the camp, however, you had to pay for each shower .50 - .75 each. Bar and restaurant was nice. We camped at Buffalo Valley Camping in a Motorhome.

I guess there are no previous remarks because this place is so unremarkable. Sites are gravel on mud (with leaky taps) in a field behind a CW bar. Don't pay for the sewer connection unless your pipe is at the extreme aft end of your rig: with my mid-mounted pipe I had to use the dump station, which is slanted the wrong way. The new restrooms are huge, modern and spotless. Overall an OK place for a night. We camped at Buffalo Valley Camping in a Motorhome.
