Check-in: Efficient and curt. Told us we needed a pressure regulator as the water in the park was about 120 psi. Location: Terrific. Walking distance to downtown. Site: The RV park was essentially an asphalt parking lot where a few RV spaces had been added to the back of the lot. The site was not quite long enough to hold our 40' motorhome. The fact that it was a little longer than the site did not seem to bother anyone. Each site had a picnic table beside the coach area. The site itself needed to be cleaned as there was a layer of sand on everything that got tracked in the coach. I did not see anyone doing any kind of work in the RV park during the three days we were there. Hookups: 50 amp power worked well. Sewer worked well. Water had to have a pressure regulator. WIFI: Worked OK, but not great. Cable TV: None. However, the OTA reception with our antenna was great. Got HD picture quality on all network channels. Laundry: None Additional: There is a hotel being constructed adjacent to the RV park causing congestion and mud. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.

The hotel is still being built although the noise didn't bother us that much. Depending what street you come down to enter this marina, you may miss the check-in sign. It's across the street from the actual marina in an industrial building. Do not come here if you don't have a good working water regulator. The man checking us in warned us their psi is 125! Even with a regulator and the water only opened very slightly, our shower began dripping at one point. It is an excellent location for a wonderful walk along the water front and to some great restaurants across the bridge but it has its issues. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.

Location, Location says it all. Right in the marina near the aerial lift bridge and port to watch many "laker" freighters and other boats coming and going, loved it. Easier to get in and out than expected. The sites are all back and reasonable width, but not huge. Very good 50 amp power and water pressure, did not opt for sewer hookup. I am sure the area is very very busy in the summer, but September was perfect. Tons to do in the area, many restaurants, pubs, stores and Corp of Engineer Lake Superior Museum. Duluth is a great city with lots to do. Would stay here again, but more likely to go up north on North Shore/Hwy 61 to explore that beautiful area. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.

As other reviews said - this is really just a parking area by a marina. They have about 20 sites with full hookups. We were in site #7. Must use a pressure reducer as their psi is over 125 - but the gentleman at check in does tell you that. The wifi worked well and we had good Verizon phone and 4G LTE signals. We were also able to get our satellite set up in a good position and there were good over the air tv stations as well. This location is great for a place to stay while visiting Duluth as it is within walking distance to the old downtown "touristy" area and other attractions. It is pretty quiet on the weekend - they don't work on the nearby hotel construction then but it does pick up pretty loud on Monday morning. On the weekend the only noise you hear is the horn blowing of ships going through the nearby "lift bridge" which is a pretty cool thing to see. It rained really hard one night while we were there and the drainage on the lot is not good. We had over an inch of standing water right outside our door in the morning. Don't follow GPS all the way to the park - it is better to turn on 10th and stop where the sign for RV check in is. It is the office of the marina. The restrooms are strange. They are like the "head" in a boat - they even flush like an RV or boat toilet. There is just one for women, one for men and one unisex combined toilet and shower. They were clean enough but quite minimal. We were there primarily to visit family and would stay here again as it was close to them. But it sure isn't a place you want to camp if you want to hang out at your RV during the day. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Travel Trailer.

Asphalt parking lot, but that was advertised. Construction next door was loud at 7AM. Great location. Close to downtown. Great view of the aerial bridge. Get the boat schedule and watch the big ones come in and the bridge go up. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.

The other reviews are accurate, this place is about location. However, during our stay, they were erecting a hotel *within about 100 feet* of this RV parking lot. There are muddy potholes as you pull in. The parking lot is slightly muddy as well and my brother slipped and fell when directing me in. You will wake up every morning around 7 am to the sounds of "beep, beep, beep, beep" in your ear. You will hear pounding and hammering all day. That is why I rated it pretty low. However, once the hotel is done RV'ers will have access to the laundry and shower facilities as well as a restaurant all located inside the hotel. Currently the RV area has a portable shower/toilet combo on wheels hooked up to some water. I saw some folks pull in at 11 pm in a truck and go in and use them, hmmmm. Bottom line, had I known the construction mess was so bad, we would have stayed elsewhere. However, when it's all complete, we will come back and stay here again. And I'll probably rate it higher. It's within walking distance to everything you want to see here. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.

This RV Park is all about location. We enjoyed our stay because there are so many interesting and enjoyable places within walking distance of the RV park. It was difficult to get reservations, as the RV Park is very popular. We arrived early afternoon, went into the Marina office across the street to register. We had full hookups & a back in site. Be aware that Duluth has numerous taxes targeted at travels. Sales Tax = 7.8750% Hotel Tax = 3% Sales Tax City = .5% adding about $5 per night to our rate. They are in the process of building a Fairfield Inn on the Marina property which will certainly make the area more congested once it opens (currently projected to open early in 2018). The current construction made the marina noisy and caused delays for those wish to enter or exit as the construction often blocked the single access driveway. Glad we visited. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.

Location...location...location. Our site was in the parking lot of a pleasure craft marina within a 10 minute walk to the most enjoyable area of historical Duluth. We opted for the electric and water only site over the FHU due to the outstanding view offered of the city including the nearby Duluth Lift Bridge. We came for 2 nights, stayed for 4 and didn't want to leave. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.

All back-in sites, one row has sewer hookups and another row without. Very close to the Canal Park area, just over the aerial lift bridge. Some have said its a problem to get to, but we had no difficulties with a 42 RV and tow. (Turn at Railroad, then Lake Ave rather than the gps directions which take you thru the Canal Park streets). The RV park is basically a parking area along the sides of the marina, but its all about location. We opted for a sewer site, and were assigned a site that had the electric on the passenger side which necessitated using my extension 50A cord. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.

This is all about the location. Right on the bay, walking distance to all the tourist amenities in Canal Park and downtown. yes, it's a parking lot with rigs slipped in side by side and the bathrooms are in a portable building with marine showers but I will stay here again in a second due to the location. Could be tight quarters for larger rigs. All back-ins, no pull-throughs. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.

Without a doubt the most unique campground we have stayed at. This is a modest sized kind of low budget marina. Nothing fancy. Two sides are parking. The outer portion of each side are angled sites for RVs. The east side doesen't have nearly the view the south side has. We are in 17. I look out my side window at the aerial lift bridge and downtown Duluth. We are in a motorhome. 5th wheels and trailers may not have the view because the sites are strictly back in. We are in a parking lot so it is all black top. There are two grass areas at the ends of the marina for those who need it. The bad news is that the sites are really narrow and in the summer you compete with the boaters for a very limited number of parking spots. I would imagine we wouldn't be too popular. The sites are angled quite a bit so for those with forward front doors, windows, etc. it's not too bad. There are no restrooms or showers. We would stay here again but not on a summer weekend for sure. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.

This is definitely "black top" camping, but the views and location are great! The drive to it is pretty scary with a rig towing a car, but trust Google Maps to get you through the turns in town. You drive through the Canal Park district and over the Aerial Lift Bridge to get there, and turn onto a tiny road. Stop at the marina office and they will show you where to go. A very nice young woman checked us in. All sites are back-in, and you have to back out from the water/electric sites when you leave. We enjoyed the view of the city and the bridge, and it's definitely a different kind of camping. Wifi worked pretty well. The bathroom/showers are in a small trailer, but work OK. There's lots of clanging of the masts and chains and some boat and train horns, but we slept through most of it. There are a couple of patches of grass to walk dogs. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.

Be sure and drive out to the end of Minnesota Point (the road that goes on past the turnoff to the campground). It's a long spit of land that stops at an airport, and there are beaches at the end.

Location. Location. Location. If you want to be in Duluth and close to the action, this is where you need to be. There are no alternatives. Yes - it's a parking lot. Yes - it's a pricey parking lot. If you're parked on the non-sewer side of the rv park, getting a big rig in & out is a little tight but certainly do-able. However the staff was friendly and allowed us to check in early. Sites are level. The hook-ups worked perfectly. Verizon cell and Sprint Mifi worked perfectly. Water pressure is excellent. (You MUST use a water restrictor for your own good! The office sells them if you need one.) You have a view of boats in the marina. It's very quiet at night. If in Duluth, we would stay here again. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.

You're walking distance to the Aerial Bridge, restaurants, shopping, beach, etc.

Enger Park is beautiful and provides a great view of the city. Glensheen (a historic mansion) is over-priced in my opinion but it's pretty and may be worth it to you. Great trails for walking or biking. Highly recommend The Rathskeller which is a bar in the sub-basement of Duluth's old city hall at 132 E. Superior St. (enter through the restaurant above called Tycoon's). It feels like you're in the prohibition era.

This is all about location, location, location situated in downtown Duluth, on the water and walking distance to the primo shopping and eating district.

The park is in a kind of a low end run down marina that converts it's boat storage lot into an RV parking lot in the summer. The surface is paved with permanent 50 amp power polls and a temporary water pipe that is hung off the chain link fence (water pressure is very high - USE A REGULATOR). Half the sites have a sewer connection. The sites are very narrow and the road is narrow if there are cars parked for the marina. The road dead ends with no turnaround - you have to back out. There is a portable restroom and bathhouse - we did not use. There are a couple of grassy areas for pets. Checkin is across the street in the boat repair shop. I almost forgot - there is a picnic table with each site that just gets in the way since the sites are so tight. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Fifth Wheel.

You have to cross the Aerial Bridge to get to this RV park. There is construction going on the road as you exit the bridge. The lanes are very narrow for a large coach. It was nice being near the water and boats. However, the WiFi has much to be desired. Weak signal and we were right next to the antenna. No telling how weak it was for the people further away. Once the WiFi is improved I'd return. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.
