7 Parks near Fairmont, Minnesota
Jun 2016 - $40.00
Very nice park. Was convenient to Blue Earth to visit family. Lots of trees, nice pull-through site. Very friendly, helpful staff. Would stay here again. Convenient to highway. - Rosie the dog
May 2016 - $40.00
This is a beautiful spot. We only stayed one night but wished we could have stayed longer. Most spots are taken by seasonal campers, but every site I looked at was well cared for and neat. Spoke with the owner and they are very dedicated in keeping the camp nice and upgrading the facilities as necessary. WiFi was excellent.
Will stay there again if we are in the area. - buspilot
Sep 2015 - $49.00
Nice park, friendly owners. Easy on/off freeway. Nice pull thrus. Lake and beach in park. Did not use showers, etc. Would definitely stay here again. - lifeisgoodforus2
Jul 2016 - $20.00
We have stopped here five or six times over the years. On our first stop we were negatively impressed. But these people have really made a nice park here. It is quiet, clean - they have obviously worked hard to clean and repair. It is greatly improved. We highly recommend it. - W Davidson
Jul 2016 - $40.00
This park is a great value, even at full price . We stayed with Passport America. Long, level pull-through sites under large trees with full hookups and lots of grass . Satellite TV is easy set up. Good, solid WiFi, and Verizon cell/data is good. The owners were friendly and helpful, and are quick to provide assistance. Not a lot to do in the area, but perfect for a relaxing stay. - gafidler
Jul 2016 - $20.00
This park is a great value, and even at full price rewards a visit with a quiet, relaxing stay. Long, level pull thru sites under large trees with lots of grass - the perfect place for a recliner, a good book, and a nap. The owners were friendly and helpful, and are quick to provide assistance. No cable TV and few open areas for a satellite, but ample OTA TV. Good, solid WiFi, and Verizon cell/data were excellent. Some train noise in the early evening, but quiet at night. Not a lot to do in the area, but perfect for a relaxing stay. We'll visit again. - Meanderman
Jun 2015 - $25.00
Great Campground - Plenty of space!
Pulled into this newer campground on a weekend stay in the area. It's fairly new, so all the hookups and facilities still have that "New" feel to them.
There are several play areas for the kids, which were very welcome, and each spot has plenty of "elbow" room from your neighbors.
As was previously said, campfire wood is available on site, and the owners are around to help with anything needed.
Since this is a new campground there is not a lot of shade by the sites yet. I'm sure in a couple years when the tree's take off this will be a lot better, but for now, you'll need to use the awning.
Overall it was a great experience and I'm sure we'll be back. - flippet
Jun 2015 - $25.00
This is a very quiet and peaceful campground located on a good fishing lake with a dock, seating and a paddle boat. The owners are on site and very friendly and accommodating. Firewood is available and a bargain. It was very windy 2 or the 4 days we were there, we were on the top of the campground and we were rockin' and rollin'.
For all you quilters or seamstresses they have a very nice club house with several large rooms and 2 ping pong tables. They opened it up for me so I could do some cutting. An awesome facility. You could probably "hog"one room and lock it every night and your stuff would be safe. - chris and jerry
Sep 2012 - $20.00
Really nice campground. Many sites are paved. Good over-the-air tv signal and 4-5 bars on horizon. Restrooms were not clean when we arrived, but we complained and they corrected the problem. Would definitely stay here again. - herbee
Jun 2009 - $22.00
Each year this campground gets better and better. Still no reservations, only a honor system type box (and daily checks by city staff or so we're told). All spots have a concrete slab and patio, and good solid power / water. Each site also has sewer, making for quite a deal. We'll surely camp here again! - flippet
Jul 2007 - $20.00
For the price and convince, this spot can't be beat. There are no reservations, so it sometimes fills up. All the sites are great, and offer full hookups. Some have concrete pads for the rig, as well as the patio. The bathroom and shower are very basic. We will stay here again! - flippet
Sep 2015 - $22.00
We were here on a Saturday evening (after Labor Day) and there were lots of sites available. We have stayed here once before. Although the sites are back-to-back we were able to pull into a pull through space with no one on either side of us. The power is good and the water pressure was just right. The sewer hookup is funky because you unscrew a large plastic tree for the easiest way to empty your holding tanks.
The access roads are black top. This campground is next to a park and golf course; both emptied as the sun went down.
It is self registration so you will need cash or a check. - skigramp
Aug 2011 - $22.00
Other than some slight traffic noise from a distance, and an occasional train horn, this campground was very quiet. The sites are narrow but long, grassy, and partially or mostly shaded. They will let you park your camper anywhere on the site that you want to; you're only limited by the length of your electric cord or water hose if you're hooking up. There is a golf course, softball field, soccer field, horse shoe pits, volleyball courts, and a city pool with a water slide. You do have to pay $4 per person to use the pool. The restrooms were well maintained. The only thing we found odd about this campground is the layout. The sites are set up so that you will have the back of your camper to the back of one neighbors camper, but your door facing the door of the other neighbors camper. There is also only one fire pit between the two campers whose doors are facing each other. We camped in a large group of family and friends, so this wasn't a problem, but if you're camping alone it could be awkward. - Juniper94
Jun 2010 - $22.00
This was a nice clean park, the staff was very friendly and helpful. It has a nice pool nearby that was not open yet. The golf course and ball fields were nice. They have playground equipment in 2 different areas of the park and they are both nice. One of the sets of playground equipment is much newer than the other. The park has 28 sites, 24 of which have full hookups. The downside is that this park should not have that many sites. It is way to small for that many sites. For us the single most important part of a camping site is space and location. We did not have a very good location, and there certainly was not much space between camping sites. This would probably be one we should have went to during the week instead of on the weekend when they were full. I don't think we will be back as there is many more in the area for us to explore. - PackerFanRick
Sep 2014 - $20.00
We read about this park on these reviews and decided to spend a long weekend here. We are so glad we did! We arrived on a late Friday morning and drove through the 4 camping areas. The largest, and the one we liked the best, was area 4 at the far end of the park. Just about every site was empty so we got a great impression of the park. Every site we saw looked level. Some were a bit close and some had a bit more space but all of the RV sites seemed workable. We selected a site we liked, #84, right down by the lake, big area around the fire pit, and very easy access. When we went to check-in at the caretakers home, we found that almost every site had been previously reserved over their web but #84 had just been cancelled! We spent 3 very nice days here. Bathrooms were clean. Hiking in the park was fun. We walked around the "island" and found it a very nice trail. Our dog was with us and enjoyed the park too. One problem, many people here did not follow the dog-on-6-foot-lease rule so we were a little nervous twice and nearly needed to intervene in one situation. View of the lake was wonderful. Very breezy while here so there were no bugs at all! Good Verizon 4G coverage throughout the park. Very nice family type of atmosphere though the majority of campers seemed to be friendly older empty-nesters. Good playgrounds for those kids that were here. Areas 3 and 4 have modern flush toilet bath houses. Areas 1 and 2 seemed to rely on porta-potties. - AndersonFamily
Aug 2012 - $18.00
Length of stay was seven days. The website does not reflect the beauty of the park. You can make a reservation through the website, but I did not like using it. It said there were pull-through sites, but I didn't see any when we got to the park. I suggest calling. The park was hard to find using GPS, as it was not accurate on truck GPS or my phone app. Nice park entrance and office. Friendly staff. New managers. Sites are difficult to get into with a big rig. Lots of trees and no pull-through sites. Electric not so good: only 30amp. Some sites without water. Bathrooms dated, but clean. Scenery gorgeous! Beautiful lake, but no boats to rent. During the week, we had it practically all to ourselves; weekends bring a respectful, family crowd. Verizon phone access great; no T-mobile access. No internet. Went to the library in downtown Mapleton for access which was pretty decent (although the staff was not aware they had wireless). Small town with just a couple of restaurants. Charming little tea house there! Great area for biking as the roads are paved, marked for biking, and little to no traffic due to it being farmers country. (They don't have to drive to work!) Rates typical for a county park. $18 p/night, but they do have a senior discount. We will stay again as it's located by family, but if another park popped up with easier access for a big rig, we would probably, sadly switch. - destinationvibe
Sep 2010 - $17.00
This is an exceptional county park with beautiful views of Lura Lake. It's tucked away far from any highways or trains. There was no noise from other campers until the campground got busy on the week-end. Unfortunately it looked like the bathrooms hadn't been for months. Piles of worms were in the corners of the bathroom. We camped there several days and that became a problem for us. When the week-end came, suddenly thorough bathroom cleaning occurred. We would probably camp here again with hopes that their bathroom cleaning becomes more consistent. - pocabe
