We really liked our campsite across from the donkeys, llamas, goats and peacock! We had plenty of room on this end site and no problem to get satellite reception. Other campsites appeared a bit haphazard in arrangement and some were crammed together. There were also some nice sites surrounding Ham Lake. The entrance in is long, wooded and very narrow with a couple turnouts if two RV's meet. (Seems a tree or two could be removed) We were both a little concerned about where we were headed and were pleasantly surprised at the campground. While some of the signs and picnic tables could use some sprucing up, everything was clean and well kept up. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have mowed walking areas through the woods and fields and a small playground for the kids. We did not use the dump station, it appeared to be difficult to get to and would block vehicles when using it. It is NOT a resort but a very comfortable, older style, friendly mom and pop type operation. They were recently bought out by a resort operation so things may be modernized a bit. We camped at Ham Lake Campground (MEMBERSHIP) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park is old and new. Full hook up, 50 amp sites in the office area are filthy, overgrown and in the trees. Lots of shade but very hard to back in to some. Three to four rigs need to hook up to same water outlet. Wifi non-existent at our site. Great at office. Rest room and shower are old, calcified fixtures, and in need of total remodel. We camped at Ham Lake Campground (MEMBERSHIP) in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Competent and friendly office staff.

Poor roads-don't have a clue of how to maintain.

Many sites not level- there is no excuse in this day of slideouts. Some power posts and sewer connections poorly located.

Could use some updates which I understand they will be doing. We camped at Ham Lake Campground (MEMBERSHIP) in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects monthly stay at $450 a month. Electricity is metered. Laundry available onsite for $1. Also a laundrymat north on 65 with more washers. Nice quiet campground. We stay here every summer for 2 - 3 months. Office staff is pleasant and efficient. We camped at Ham Lake Campground (MEMBERSHIP) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of shopping and restaurants within 20 minute drive.
A new covered fire pit has been added to central area which is very nice. The beach has been redone with lots of nice clean sand for the kids to play in. The beach area is very shallow and great for kids.

Stayed at this park 2 years ago and most sites are on grass, spacious, quiet, level and big rig friendly. However, have tried to stay last year and this year by leaving voicemails with management as directed by answering machine as early as March and to date have not received a return call indicating they are full, have vacancies or any communication. The service of staff at this park is very questionable which is sad for rvers. We camped at Ham Lake Campground (MEMBERSHIP) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

A nice campground, but grass sites which can be a problem during rainy weather. Nice beach area on Ham Lake, and they rent boats for fishing at $25 a day. Staff are outstanding. Sites aren't too close together, allowing for awning and chairs for outside enjoyment. WiFi is good, at least where we were located, good water pressure and electric. Some sites are in the trees others open but with nice landscaping. Over all a nice place to spend a week or two. The entrance is small and the dirt road leading to the camp is rough, which gave me a very negative opinion initially, but once on our site all was well. Lots of seasonal trailers and 5th wheels throughout the camp. We would return here, if the occasion presents itself. We camped at Ham Lake Campground (MEMBERSHIP) in a Motorhome.

Very nice. Stayed here month in 2013 and two weeks in 2014. Would return. Lots of seasonals. Most good sites filled for season. Wi-Fi very iffy and undependable. We camped at Ham Lake Campground (MEMBERSHIP) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is our home base for a couple of months each summer to visit family. The staff is incredible - friendly and helpful. The park is friendly with many people forming long lasting relationships. We are able to have our mail sent here, something not a lot of parks allow. There is an area with various animals such as llama, sheep, emu, chickens and a horse that the children enjoy feeding. With the ponds on the edge of the camp there are always sandhill crane and Canada geese nearby, which we enjoy. The lake is very shallow and great for smaller kids. They have a swing set out in the water for them to play on. There are bikes and canoes for rent. There is a large covered pavilion for gatherings. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and yet you have the city within minutes for shopping and entertainment. We live full-time in our RV with our two cats. Bring your mosquito spray. Beautiful campground. Lots of shade in most areas. Older section is tight and layered out with utilities on wrong side. Newer south section has large pull thru and back in sites. Restrooms are large and clean with accessible amenities. Wi-Fi was mostly blocked by trees and was undependable. Good location north of Minneapolis and close to freeways. We camped at Ham Lake Campground (MEMBERSHIP) in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

No sewer hookups unless you're seasonal, but I heard they do have honey-pot service. The site we were given was a little awkward, as the area was shared with the camper next to us. If we had stayed here, our doors would have been facing each other and our awnings would have almost touched. Since we had friends staying the same time, we doubled up in their site. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The beach is perfect for kids, as you can go way out and it's only 2-3 feet deep. Although, a lot of local non-campers came by, which made the beach area very crowded. One group was smoking marijuana on the beach and another group was smoking cigarettes while floating out on the lake. We kind of hoped a campground worker would check on the beach area once in a while, but we never saw them. The place has a store with snacks, gifts, etc, and all the staff was very nice. If you forget anything, there's a convenience store just a mile down the road. We camped at Ham Lake Campground (MEMBERSHIP) in a Travel Trailer.

This was our first time camping ever as a family (two children ages 2 & 5) and it was amazing. There were so many activities for the kids and the beach was clean and fun. They had rules without being pushy/bossy and they made you feel welcome. Plan on returning many times! We camped at Ham Lake Campground (MEMBERSHIP) in a Travel Trailer.

We had a wonderful time here. The lake was beautiful. People were friendly. We stayed where most of the seasonal people stayed. We got to know a couple of them. They were great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Had great time talking to them. The bathroom/showers were clean. We would definitely stay here again. Very quiet campground with excellent lake access. Most full hookup sites are filled with all-season guests. Bathrooms and showers are spacious and very clean, no problems with hot water. Fire rings at all sites with wood available. We were across the road from a petting zoo with emus, an alpaca, goats, sheep and peacocks. Many sites are all grass and leveling can be a challenge. Some very cool tent sites right on the lake. We camped at Ham Lake Campground (MEMBERSHIP) in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for two nights and have really enjoyed our stay. It is family friendly and the management does quite a bit too keep the kids busy. The bathroom with showers are clean though they should add at least one more for a campground this size. The water heaters came up short in prime showering times so I ended up showering at midnight. Management was friendly and helpful. The sites were shaded and roomy with no road noise. We will be coming back. We camped at Ham Lake Campground (MEMBERSHIP) in a Tent Trailer.
