We have now stayed here 4 times. They improved it by letting you rent a space online, not first come first serve...we hated not knowing if we could get a place. This is almost like staying in the country. You wake up to see the geese and the ducks and if on the river hearing the waves hit on a windy day. Beautiful peaceful spot. There are full service and electric only. All are very nice. If their business keeps up they'll have to enlarge their shower area's.\ - kaths

This is a hidden gem of a campground, that even locals, such as myself, camp at often. Very convenient location as it is within city limits, but doesn't feel that way, as the sites are in a park along the river front. Mosquitoes are kept to a minimum as the grass is mowed and the city sprays weekly for mosquitoes. A Cenex service station / convenience store / fuel station is right at the park entrance. This is where all the locals go to refill their propane tanks. If you need to do laundry, there is a laundromat right across the highway.
Sites 1-12 are full hookup sites with electricity, water, sewer. These are level, gravel sites for the big rigs. These sites are not near the river. Sites P1-P10 are 20,30,50Amp electric sites. No water or sewer. Parking is on grass with a slight slope towards the river. These sites are right on the river, with only a walking/biking path between the campsites and the river. - Alben

Awesome park. Small (21 total sites), but includes sites for tents, sites for trailers (elect only) and sites with full hook-ups. Tent and elect-only sites are right on the river - beautiful! Home to a lot of geese and bald eagles! Tremendous value at $20/night for elect site. Easy walk to local businesses. Must reserve online on City of Hutchinson website: http://www.hutchinsonprce.com/parks-campground-and-outdoor-activities/campground/ - mbn23mom
Jul 2010 - $26.00
It has big spaces. There are a few trails for hiking. Lots of mosquitoes in July. We plan to stay there again. The golf course is fun to play. The stream can be fished (trout?). We plan to stay there again this fall. The rate above was averaged with their $8 reservation fee. The Fort area is interesting. - SDBill

This is a very small state park. There are 2 loops in the camping area. The first one you come to is all non electric and for some reason many of the sites were blocked off. The other "loop" isn't really a loop but one long road. The sites are very spacious. One side of this road is the river so many of the sites are waterfront. To get to the bathrooms you have to walk across a bridge and up the stairs so they are not handicap accessible. This campground has quite a few hiking trails as well as a golf course. The course is extremely hilly so you'll get a good workout. They have a deal where if you stay 3 nights you get a free day of golf (as much as you want to golf). We'll stay here again. - MinnCamper

Sites are widely spaced and have trees in between for separation and some privacy. Some are more shaded than others. Campground is in creek valley so is somewhat out of the wind. There is a small sandbox available for children. Restroom/showers are accessed by crossing a bridge over the creek, then climbing several stairs; the path is lit at night. The restrooms are a good walk from even the nearest campsites. Sites are level. - minnemom

We didn't have reservations and Park was full due to Gun Show on premises. Check in desk was kind enough to suggest a park in town and drew out directions. We found it full too so we returned and they offered dry camping on their parking lot. Trouble was, we had left home that morning with no water on board (expecting to get water at campground). They showed us where to get water and we overnighted on their huge parking lot. There was no cost to us, but this site won't allow me to post "0" dollars. - brovst

First, let me say the check-in process was quick and easy. My DW went into the casino while I parked at the RV check-in parking spot. She went to the Rewards Club desk to get a discount, then checked in at the Tour desk for check-in. The sites are all pretty level, well spaced, and pull-throughs. Each site has a patio with nice metal table and fire pit. The utilities are full hookups and easily accessed. The only issues I could see was that the shower facilities and toilets are provided by portable units. That didn't bother us since we have those in the coach, and didn't use those in the park. - glenstmary

See my 7/16 review for a more detailed description of the park. This is a reasonably priced FHU RV park. Once again, the check in at the casino hotel is annoying. After last year's experience, we did not even try the cable TV since we have satellite TV. All sites appear to be satellite friendly. The Wi-Fi worked fine for our minimal (e-mail and web surfing) needs and usage. - Jerry S
Jul 2017 - $24.00
We stayed here during the week, and there were plenty of sites available. The park roads are curvy and fun to drive on a scooter, however a little hard to maneuver with a large rig. It's best to come in from the north entrance. The sites are adequately spaced and pretty level, with the sites at the edge of the campground having a decent view of the river. There is very sketchy phone service in the area, no satellite reception at all. This is a great park if you like to hike. $1.9 million worth of concrete trails were just installed this month. Overall, it's a nice quiet campground in a quiet town. - nomadsark
Jul 2011 - $20.00
Very nice campground. There is walking trails and a zoo plus the waterfall. The golf course is real close too. I have stayed here 3 or 4 times and will again. - wally-eye
Jul 2011 - $20.00
The bathrooms didn't look like they had been cleaned at all in the 3 nights we stayed there. There were also items in disrepair. Our spot was fair size and shady, but previous campers had moved the fire pit onto the pad and left the ash mess there for us to walk through. Other spots in the park were REALLY small and weren't designated tent areas. They were also lacking any grass at all. Also, we don't think they had sprayed for bugs. The gnats were so unbearable we spent very little time outside. The golf course next door had dances/parties on both Friday and Saturday night. Even though there were "quiet hours", the noise carried and kept us up. Overall, pretty disappointing. - butzpa
