Big rig access is doable but it's tight. The road into the park is very rough with many low over hanging trees. There are only a few pull thru sites that can handle a rig over 40'. This park caters more to the weekenders from the city that come to camp in small rigs or tents and enjoy the river. The operators were very accommodating. There were some very low trees blocking our exit path that I brought to the maintenance crews attention. They were trimmed the next day. That also shows that this park does not receive a lot of big rig traffic. For us it was close enough to the city and our relatives for our visit. The few inconveniences are bearable and we would stay here again. We camped at Country Camping Tent & RV Park in a Motorhome.
This campground is a short drive from the Twin Cities. It has very large, grassy sites and lots of open spaces. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. They have organized activities such as Halloween Trick-or-treating in June, and karaoke at night. There is a volleyball court, basketball court, horseshoe pits and a playground. The pool is clean and the water is warm. The restroom and showers are updated and clean. There is a modern port-a-potty with flush toilets and a sink centrally located in the campground. When the river isn't too high they offer tubing and kayaking. The only sites on the river are tent sites and they are down a hill and tucked away. You cannot see the river from the rest of the campground. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Country Camping Tent & RV Park in a Tent Trailer.
We stayed a week here and really enjoyed ourselves. Our site was near the play area and close to the store. The pool was really nice and clean. We walked along the river tent sites, but the mosquitoes were unbearable! Tubing on the river was pretty mellow, but a bit long for our young kids. Location was nice for day trips to the cities. This large, spacious private park is well maintained and well run. The park management also operates excursions via canoe or tube on the Rum River, which are available to campers as well as the general public. While the campground has full hookup sites available, they are all rented seasonally. Sites are large and are distributed around a large grassy area with a few smaller trees here and there, as well as some tree cover around the edges. Many of the sites have partial shade. The roads around the campground are gravel. Except for the riverfront sites, all sites have water and electric, many with 50A. The wiring is done to a high standard with the power company's transformers at several locations around the site. Because of the weather few people were running the A/C but can't imagine that there would have been problems even on a hot day. There is a playground, a horseshoe pit, a riverfront trail, and a swimming pool, all well maintained. The swimming pool is not large but was unusually well maintained for a campground pool with crystal clear water and clean tile. The seasonal sites had a mixture of park trailers, older rigs of doubtful mobility, and newer rigs. There were a few nice, newer class As among them. Overall the seasonal sites were well maintained and landscaped with some pride of ownership manifested in all but a few cases. There is coin laundry on site. During our visit, the riverfront sites were closed due to mud from recent flooding. These are non-electric sites with a fairly steep access road. They are right on the river and have tree cover. Ideal for a truck camper, anything bigger and you better know how to drive and exactly how much you can get away with. We are used to encountering mosquitoes but found that they were really bad here even by Minnesota standards. We camped at Country Camping Tent & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
I agree with the first posting here that this is a very nice and spacious campground with a friendly staff. Would like to add that they also provide tubing and canoeing on the Rum River. The one down side that we saw was the lack of bathrooms and showers. The campground has 115 RV sites and 20+ tent sites. For this both the men's and women's bathroom has two showers and three stools. Two more stools were located out in the park. I found myself standing in line every morning. My wife said one of the stools in her bathroom was out of order and the bench in one shower was broken and appeared to have been broken for some time. The men's showers had no benches and only one clothes hook that fell on the floor when I used it. We camped at Country Camping Tent & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
This campground has all the necessary amenities to make any camping experience worth the trip. This campground has RV sites, Seasonal Sites, and Open Tent camping. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and made the camping experience wonderful. We happened to be there for Halloween in June. All the kids in the campground wore costumes, bobbed for apples and trick or treated also. This was a well run and enjoyable for all camp goers. We will return to this campground and hopefully with a group because a couple of the sections really accommodate three RV's facing each other in their own space. Highly recommend this campground to anyone and will be returning next year! We camped at Country Camping Tent & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
