We were gone from the site most of the time. The park is drop dead gorgeous. Ample spacing between sites. If you can handle moving your fireplace wood in a wheel barrow that would be good (they don't appear to deliver to your site). You can fill your water tank with potable water at the pump out area. We camped at Lake Elmo Park Reserve in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is one of the few RV parks on the east side of Minneapolis/St. Paul and it is convenient to the Minnesota State Capitol Museum and other museums. Sites are wide, long, unlevel and expensive ($7 more a day for the toad without an Iowa State Parks pass). While we were there our site (14) and two other sites had reoccurring low voltage on one phase of the electric service. (It was hot, in the 90's but the CG was less than 30% occupied when we were there.) The park is large and lovely; Verizon service was good and there were some OTA television channels but we will not stay there again. We camped at Lake Elmo Park Reserve in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Minnesota State Capitol Building is gorgeous with wonderful stories of typical Minnesotans thru the decades. We toured two other wonderful sites near there, all managed by the Minnesota Historical Society: the History Museum and Fort Snelling. All were EXCELLENT. Capitol Buildings tell you what their people are proud of. Minnesotans are proud of the good and brave folks who lived/live in Minnesota. The Minnesota Historical Society tells their stories well.

The park itself is fine. The problem with it is they do not allow pets in the campground. There are dogs walking along the trails but I was not suppose to have my cat inside my RV. I constantly this unacceptable and will not return. We camped at Lake Elmo Park Reserve in a Motorhome.

A follow up to my previous review. This is one of the nicest county parks we've stayed at. We were lucky enough to get site 25, which has an amazing view of the pond. A deer that ran right in front of us. We cooled off in the pool on Saturday. There was a Blood Moon on Friday night that was breathtaking. Reminder - no pets or alcohol permitted. There are 2 full hookup sites near the campground host, otherwise electric or non-electric only. We did not use the restrooms. We did not notice noise from the gun range as someone previously reported. The yellow loop is highly recommended with easy to back-in sites. The staff is extra nice. I couldn't read my license plate when checking in, so ranger got out her binoculars. Other county park stickers are accepted here. We camped at Lake Elmo Park Reserve in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful spacious preserve. Very friendly and helpful staff. So nice to find such a nice facility close to the Twin Cities. Campsites are so spacious that you hardly believe you are in an rv campground. We camped here in a travel trailer while visiting family. Bonus, we got to see a doe that had triplet fawns and they were just outside our window. Will definitely return. We camped at Lake Elmo Park Reserve in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is exceptionally clean and well kept. I love the no pet rule due to other campground's rules/no compliance rules by patrons. Clean, supervised, tons of kids friendly places to play. My 2-year old granddaughter was protected by other children's patrons in the park area and we felt so safe on equipment. Everything is within walking, biking or driving distance. A bonus was Ecuadorian neighbors played guitar and and sang during campfire hours which was totally amazing. Can't wait to come back here. Stayed in a travel trailer. Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park reserve and campground. The camp sites are large and grassy. There are enough bushes and trees between them to make them private, but not so dense that you can't get to the site next to you if you're camping with others. Sites 25 and 26 offer a view of a pond. The restrooms were clean although the shower floors and walls are stained yellow. There are lots of trails, playgrounds, a swimming pond, and volleyball nets. Wi-fi and cell signals are good. There are two downfalls to this park though. One is, they don't allow pets in the camp ground. This prevented my brother and his family from joining the rest of us. The second downfall is that Oakdale Gun Club is right next door. The sound of gun shots all day non-stop, all weekend, ruined the tranquility of the park. We camped at Lake Elmo Park Reserve in a Travel Trailer.

This park is beautiful with hiking trails and a lake. The spots are wide and spacious and the electric was 50amp. Good cell service for both ATT and Verizon due to proximity to St. Paul. The only down side is they have a very strict pet policy. This was a non issue for us since we don't travel with pets but many people do. We camped at Lake Elmo Park Reserve in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Beautiful park with nice spacing between camp sites. There is one 50 AMP Site (#14) but they limit the stay to 7 nights per campsite- no exceptions. They have good access to potable water. And there is convenient dump too. Great walking and bike trails, both paved and off road. Access to the lake for boating & fishing, with a separate swim area. Very close to freeway and shopping. We camped at Lake Elmo Park Reserve in a Motorhome.

Clean, quiet, scenic, family-friendly. This campground is one of our favorites in Minnesota. Wonderful hiking and biking trails, nice boat launch to Lake Elmo for fishing and as a bonus, it is just minutes away from good shopping and restaurants in the city of Woodbury. This campground is a consistent winner! We camped at Lake Elmo Park Reserve in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

I was greeted by a very pleasant and helpful woman at the park’s registration office. This 2,100+ acre park has a number of lakes – including the 206-acre Lake Elmo, and the slightly smaller Eagle Point Lake. It‘s hard to believe that this quiet, secluded camping area is less than 20 air miles from downtown Minneapolis and St Paul. It served as an excellent base for exploring of the twin cities region. Campsites are well spaced, with 30-amp power. However, there are no water or sewer connections. Verizon broadband connectivity was very good. Over-the-air TV reception is excellent with all the major networks available. In addition to the daily fee, one must purchase a park pass ($25). The pass allows access to a number of county parks for a one-year period. We camped at Lake Elmo Park Reserve in a Motorhome.

This is a pretty nice park. There is a $5.00 per day entrance fee even though you are camped here. We are close to most everything including the Mall of America which is a must see. Stillwater is a unique little tourist area. If you are here long enough, it's worth strolling through. We will definitely camp here again.
