Flandrau is a nice campground right in town, but quiet and wooded enough that you would never know. There are several nice trails, some that parallel the river, some that climb hills for great views. The sand-bottom chlorinated swimming pool and playground are favorites of our kids. My only cons on this campground is it's relatively small and only about half of the sites have electric, so they fill up quickly, sometimes months in advance. Also, the swimming pool is a favorite of locals, too, and gets pretty crowded at times. We camped at Flandrau State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Well maintained by state and good selection between electric, non-electric and primitive sites. A bit crowded on weekends, however more open on weekdays. Sites are a bit close together, however that is offset by how well maintained the park is. Restrooms and showers very nice. Campground is in town, so close to activities. We camped at Flandrau State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very Nice Park. Large sites and well marked. Quiet hours were just that, quiet. This was our first but, not last trip to this park. We had a great time. We camped at Flandrau State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Absolutely terrific park! Large shaded sites (maybe a little tricky for huge rigs but our
30' trailer was no problem). Bathhouses were best we've seen - immaculate, large and free. $7 park fee on top of site rental (good for three days). Staff friendly and helpful. Near a river which we did not go see but they have the neatest pool around - it's a chlorinated sand pool that looks like a small lake (but cleaner!). Beautiful stone architecture built during the New Deal. Lots of trails to hike and bike, and nearby town is great. I would gladly retire to New Ulm! Would highly recommend this park for an overnight or an extended stay. We camped at Flandrau State Park in a Travel Trailer.
