Only stayed one night. Near freeway which has some construction but park can be accessed without problems. GPS gave us some errors but we made it OK! Park is mostly permanent seasonal but well maintained and attractive. Owners have sold and hopefully new managers will continue their good work. We camped at River View Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Only stayed one night and as this campground out in the country, we assume you have to drive to get to areas you might need. River is near and maybe used for floating, fishing??

This campground reminds us why we camp! A throwback to the days of family and group camping. Family oriented: swimming, fishing, volleyball, bingo, free coffee and everybody sitting out and visiting with each other. Mostly seasonal. And the transient sites seemed to be filled mostly with folks who knew everyone else. Very limited sewer sites. Mostly water and electric. Every site was gravel and not very level. We had to level side-to-side. A little pricey at $43, with discount, but worth it because of the family orientation. We camped at River View Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The owners were very responsive to our request to move after the original site would not work with our slide configuration. This is a nice basic grass-and-trees campground with a nice pond on site. WiFi is great. No cable but there are a few OTA stations that come in. We would happily stay here overnight again. We camped at River View Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The staff was very friendly. Due to some recent rainfall, they were unable to keep us in our reserved spot. This wasn't a problem because the spot they moved us to was full hook-up as opposed to water/electric only. Our site was a pull-through site, but still required some navigation to line up properly. Even though it is pet friendly, the site we were on wasn't exactly convenient for pets, but that may be me being nit-picky. Due to it being a holiday weekend and some sites being closed due to the rain, it was a very crowded spot. On the flipside, the train ride for the toddlers was excellent! My son absolutely loved it. Not only that, but they did have ice cream sundaes as well. Overall, it was a nice place that we may visit again, but will likely explore other campgrounds. We camped at River View Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Ridiculous set up. Our family was given a site next to a large (30 people) nest of tents where they stayed up til 2am playing beer pong and loudly partying. Management did nothing. Needless to say, won't be back. We camped at River View Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

As mentioned, there are about 60-70 percent of the sites occupied by seasonal full timers with others open to daily traffic. All of the sites were shaded to some extent, so no satellite service. The access roads are gravel with the exception of the paved road that goes up to the pool area. Very nice, huge pool with plenty of chairs and a couple umbrellas for shade. The sites on B and C rows could use some more gravel to take up some of the "squish" after it gets wet. Escorted to the site and good access as we were able to leave the towed vehicle hooked up for the overnight stay. The oppressive heat did take it's toll on the electrical system with voltages dropping to around 105V on some lines. The office recommended coming in from the west on the entrance road and going out the same way. Ask for directions if it's not clear. We camped at River View Campground in a Motorhome.

Previous reviews are largely accurate. I had the misfortune of timing in needing to stay there over Memorial Day weekend, which jacked up the price to places even KOA wouldn't go. They did squeeze me in after saying they were full, based on the size of my trailer. The campground is a destination for many folks, so my need for just a place to stay for two days didn't warrant the price I had to pay and, given other choices, I wouldn't have stayed there. That said, they were nice and didn't enforce their three day minimum over the holiday weekend. Still I had the feeling that they were squeezing a buck out of a camping spot that they couldn't have otherwise filled. Clearly they are popular and charge accordingly. Next time, I will look for a place that is more value oriented. No real complaints though. I was grateful to get a spot. We camped at River View Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Past reviews are too generous IMO. This is an okay overnight stop but certainly not higher than a 5 or 6. This park is full of long termers with a few spots open for transients. Sites along the river looked like they had flooded recently. Our site was about 60 feet long & narrow plus it sloped from back to front. Almost all sites are full shade. Staff was friendly and wifi worked. Laundry was dated. Bathrooms had a bad odor. Both ATT & Verizon had good signals. We camped at River View Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy access from I-35, about 2.5 miles or less. Interior roads gravel. Appears to be popular site for people that park their units and use them periodically. Lots of permanent decks etc. Friendly staff. Overnight sites close to the office and restrooms. No cable and lots of trees that block satellite. WiFi had a good signal where we were located. We camped at River View Campground in a Motorhome.

The entrance road and sights are gravel/dirt. The Campground is rustic and located on the Straight River. There are full hook-ups, good WiFi and limited over-the-air stations that came in clear. The management was very friendly. We camped at River View Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The customer service of this park is beyond excellent. The park itself is nice but an older park that, based upon the design of the buildings, is probably an old KOA. Everything works and the owners are very friendly. When we arrived, I got no TV signal and reported that to the office. Later in the evening, the owner came by and allowed me to set my Dish antenna in one of the streets so I could get a signal. It is the off season here and they have little traffic. He soon brought some sawhorses to protect my antenna. If you are in the area, this is a great place to stay! We camped at River View Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We were here a few years ago and there has been some good improvements in the staff. Our site was very steep. We got to the end of our jacks to be able to level. The sewer was on the wrong side of the site. However, the campground was nice and worth the stop. The sites along the river flooded while we were here. Road noise from the highway is there, but OK. We camped at River View Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

A very tight squeeze for our 40 ft. motorhome but we did fit into the one pull thru that could fit us. Shady campground was nice to keep heat off but not good for TV reception. Verizon broadband was fine as was phone. Quiet during the week but lots of traffic that stirred up dust evenings and weekend we stayed here. Friendly staff and weekenders were a quiet local group. Seemed to be mostly seasonal and locals with a few spaces for we passing thru the area campers. Interesting area and an hour from historic areas. We camped at River View Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The only problem with this campground is the noise from I-35. The campground is a mature campground, since it was originally a KOA in the 1960's. The new owners are doing great things with the remodeling: awesome restrooms like being at home with slate and tile, the pools (regular and a kiddie wading), and the new office lodge with a place to relax, a small grocery, and a game area. Many of the sites are small by today's standards, but there were big rigs in them. If you are looking for some nice shade and a nice looking campground, this is the place to come. We camped at River View Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
