Name is incorrect! Should be "Hidden Jewel"! We've traveled far, found a lot of "sardine cans" that call themselves campgrounds but this one really IS a Campground! Beautiful, lush shady camping area; spit-spot clean & spacious campsites, great and verrry helpful hosts. Price is totally reasonable. We are going to hate to leave and move on. By the way-not to far from Mayo so if you are here for the Clinic, it's the Lovely, Tranquil place you likely need to come home to. Previous people mentioned road noise..they heard people rushing to places with pavement and concrete while we sit here and listen to the birds, creek and wind in the trees. AWESOME! We camped at Hidden Meadows RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Really nice campground tucked away in a beautiful area near Rochester, MN. Great walking trails along the river, friendly campground owners. We camped here the first weekend they were open, so we had plenty of room to ourselves. The website lists sewer hookups as an option, but that is really only available to seasonal campsites, I wish they'd update that to more accurately reflect the weekend camping options. We used their bathrooms for showering, which were clean, but small. The bathroom stall doors were very low, be prepared to make eye-contact while sitting. My husband said the hot and cold water handles were backwards in the men's showers. Sites are big, shaded and lovely. Dog friendly. We camped at Hidden Meadows RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Bike the Douglas Trail! For a short ride, take the trail into Pine Island, or for a longer ride, take it into Rochester.

Overall Rating:

This was a very small campground. The bathrooms are clean, but old and need some repairs and updates. We were in the lower campground. We were camping with 2 other families, and the owners allowed us to park in a U-shape so we were all facing each other (in fact, it was their idea!). It wasn't busy, but it was after Labor Day and there wasn't a ton to do. (I've heard from friends that have a seasonal site there that they have a lot of fun activities for the kids during the summer.) They have the rec room, but it was occupied with a group all weekend. The kids had fun playing ping pong and the guys were able to watch football on the TV in the game room. There is a huge field behind the electric sites along the road for tent camping. It was completely empty and the kids had a blast playing football and kickball out there. The mosquitoes weren't bad, but the wasps/yellow jackets were fierce! I don't know how busy it is in the summer, but it was a nice relaxing time for us. The owners were very friendly. We will be back. We camped at Hidden Meadows RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Rate is for water and 30 amp elec. The upper part of park is about 50 permanents/seasonals and those folks seem to have a lot of fun. We camped with a group and were placed all together on nice level grassy sites in the lower part of the park. Some shade trees and lots of open space down there, picnic table and fire rings at each site. There is also a rec hall available for use. The park was quite busy on weekend but was very quiet at night. They are apparently serious about controlling visitors as they keep the gate to the lower part of park closed at all times and charge for each visitor. The proprietor was very pleasant, his wife not so much when we inquired as to why the wifi password we were given wasn't working. We didn't notice any highway noise as noted by other reviewers. many in our group stated that they would stay here again. We camped at Hidden Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here with our camping club. The area we were assigned to has lots of mature shade trees. The grass sites are easy to level and free of mounds and dips. The river was a short walk to and appears to be a fun place to go wading. We did not stay long there due to the bugs and being evening that is to be expected. At the campsite itself the bugs were not a big issue. The owners are around all the time riding by and help if there is anything you need. They had a BBQ on Friday which was a nice treat to not have to cook. The fee was very reasonable. We will be back. We camped at Hidden Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a great family-friendly park. Easy to access and lots of room. Facilities are clean and central. Lots of activities for kids and adults alike. Camp is along the Zumbro River. Easy to go swimming in the clean river and its shallow enough for little ones. Owners were very friendly and very visible. Some highway noise at night and lots of sites without shade, but cell service and TV reception is good. Will definitely recommend and be back this year. Overall Rating:

This is a very clean meticulously well groomed campground with lots of activities available for families. Kayak rentals are even available. The staff could not be more friendly and accommodating. One would think 'Resort' without the resort price. Although parking is on the grass, it is very stable even after a heavy rain. We have a heavy RV and had no problems. We definitely will stay here again. We camped at Hidden Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This campground offers large, grassy, level sites with good shade. The grounds are well maintained. They have a large recreation building and a nice playground. There is a river for fishing in, but it was not clean enough to swim in. The owners are wonderfully friendly and the price is very reasonable. The only drawback was the constant hum of traffic from the nearby (but not visible) highway. We camped at Hidden Meadows RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
