4 Parks near Pipestone, Minnesota
Jul 2016 - $17.00
We were in the back of the park long grass pull thru. Very messy and muddy when it rained. Nice site until they put someone right next to us and our awnings had to go under the other one in order to put them out. Marginal 50 amp, WiFi very sporadic, smoke from fire rings were non stop during the weekends making it impossible to have the windows open. Laundry has 4 washers but only 2 working all month while we were there. Quaint little town. - mrk

We chose this park because it was very close to Pipestone NM, right across the street. It was an okay campground. The site we got was a pull through but did not have an easy way to get our parked truck out after we positioned the camper.
We had to go through grass to park and they had heavy rains the day before which created a lot of mud. It took another 2 days before the mud cleared.
Services were good but we would only stay again if we needed to go back to Pipestone NM. - John Borajkiewicz

Lovely lakeside location. Worse mosquitoes and flying beetles we've ever experienced. We couldn't enjoy our dinner outside because it was impossible to eat or drink with all the bugs landing on them. The train blasting through and blowing it's whistle was disturbing enough until we were woken up by the sound of a .22 gun being fired. We woke up tired to very strong outhouse smells and a fresh assault by the mosquitoes. My husband wanted to share "I've been camping for over ten yrs and this was one of the worse experiences."
Camping reservation service charged a $10.00 service that seemed very high. - Wendy_H_B

Beautiful state park campground. Electric only. Lots of grass and trees making this a pretty, lakeside campground. Lots of space and greenery between sites. Dump station. - SandyBBB

This campground is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. We picked it because it was close to relatives that we were visiting. Other reviews that warn of low hanging trees and hard to back into sites are right on the money. I caught the top of our trailer on a tree leaving the site and ripped our roof (not a good day). We stayed here on a Wednesday and Thursday and the office was never open, though we saw a ranger driving around. You use the honor system to pay for firewood, which was kind of neat. The camp host was very nice and came to check on us while we were setting up. The bathrooms are very nice and clean. These are some of the best bathrooms that we have found at state campgrounds. Hiking trails are nice and the lake dam is worth the walk. The price for this camp site is fair enough through I would be very careful about driving a motor home through here - or anything else you care about for that matter. The low trees and site access drop the rating from what it could be, in my opinion. - MS-601
Sep 2015 - $34.00
Stayed just overnight in route home, which is only reason value was rated low. About 5 miles easy drive off I-90, but worth the trip to use a state park. Park grounds and facilities appeared to be very well maintained. Paved roads, gravel sites and good power. Time of year allowed for not needing reservations, lots of choices for camp sites and easy use of dump station. We would stay here again. Close by to Luverne for most anything needed and easy access back onto I-90 in either direction. - RPWAINC
