Very quiet park. Easy off and on from 53. Easy checkin --cash or check only. Bathhouse was new and sparkling clean. Park has several lakes for fishing. Sites are in a row and fairly close. Would stay again. We camped at Ogston RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We chose this park due to the 8+ rating on RV Pk Reviews, but when we arrived we did not think it was up to that high a rating. Sites were gravel with some grass between but not really landscaped. Other parks that charge $40/night seem to offer more. We camped at Ogston RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Basic campground with few amenities, but clean and quiet. Campground is about 20 minutes west of Duluth and less than 10 minutes to the main mall in the area with loads of shops, restaurants, etc. One negative: only 1 full toilet and 1 full shower in men's restroom. Women's restroom also appeared to be very small. Laundry facilities are available. Sites are open with very few trees around. Rigs and pull vehicles were much nicer than average. Park seems to attract a fairly affluent crowd despite its limited amenities and basic nature. Owner was very friendly. We camped at Ogston RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Convenient, easy-to-find location, easy for big-rigs to maneuver roads and sites. Our site was a back-to-back pull-thru (first one there can pull through, the second one has to back in). Nice little lakes around campground were good for fishing from the bank or the john boat or canoe available for campers' use. Utilities worked fine but water has so much iron it stained the toilet and bathroom sink. OTA TV worked well. Only gripe is the wifi is unusable. The owner told us there wasn't enough bandwidth to serve everyone so it would be hit or miss. (It was "miss" only.) Saw only two wifi repeaters in park and neither was near the pull-thru area. $42 a night is too much without working wifi. Fortunately our Verizon hotspot worked well. Other than the wifi, we loved Ogston's and would definitely stay again. We camped at Ogston RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Private park on a lake 5 miles from small town and 15 miles to Duluth. Quiet. Paved roads and gravel sites with grass between. Long and level back in sites with open sky for big rigs in one area and shorter sites in another area. All sites FHU. Only wifi at some sites. Staff friendly and helpful. Good for travelers and big rigs. Water faucet for every other site, may need extra hose if on wrong side. Would stay there again. We camped at Ogston RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Long sites. Need long hose for water and be warned toe water has a very high iron content. Even with filters the toilet etc. were stained. Close to Duluth and a good base of operations. Many seasonals. High goose population which means watch where you walks. We camped at Ogston RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A very nice RV park. A long, tree lined drive takes you to the office, which is next to the owners' home. You drive around towards the barns and end up facing downhill next to the house. The owners are very pleasant. The RV park is large, and has four good size ponds. The roads and sites are gravel. They are shared sites, back to back, so one gets to pull thru and the other has to back in. The front area where we stayed had a nice view of the biggest pond, with all kinds of geese walking around. The sites are level and the patio area is grassy and good size. The restroom is in the back section so a bit of a walk if you're up front. The restrooms are in a multi use building with the laundry and game room and TV lounge. The restrooms were nothing fancy but fine. We camped at Ogston RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Gordy's Hi Hat in Cloquet was a lot of fun; old, nostalgic burger joint with good food. Crazy busy so prepare to wait in line, but it moves fast.

We needed a day to catch up, refresh tanks and rest. We were looking for a quiet campground not far from Duluth with full hookups, wifi, cell coverage and laundry. We're self-contained and don't use the facilities other than an occasional shower. We stayed on a weeknight in August.

Ogstons was exactly what we needed. The owners/staff were friendly and helpful. The campsites were generously sized, situated in a field around 3 ponds. Some sites had shade, many were full sun. They had hookups, reasonable wifi, reasonable ATT and Verizon coverage, laundry, and allowed us to wash our motorhome for $5 which was a plus. Our stay was quiet. There's an airport nearby, however, we heard only 3 planes, and none during the night. We camped at Ogston RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. Owners/mgrs. are very professional, friendly and helpful. Park sits next to three, quaint, small lakes. Sites are gravel with lush grass, table and full hook-ups. Convenient to Duluth & Superior sights. We camped at Ogston RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A very nice park that we really enjoyed. Was closest place we could find to Duluth that could take a 45' MH. The grounds are pretty and they keep several miles of trails mowed in the back which is fantastic for dawg walking and birding. Folks are very nice as well. We will come back to Ogstons. They accept only cash or a check as they do not accept credit cards. We camped at Ogston RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Worth driving into town for the Maritime Center. Lift bridge is pretty cool to see. Numerous light houses along the drive up the North Shore. We stopped in at Split Rock Light House and really enjoyed the tour. Of course lunch at Grandma's by the Maritime Center isn't bad!!!

Owner operated campground. Sites were large, clean and level. Grass between sites. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Several small lakes through out campground. Fishing available for throw back fishing. Fire rings with reasonable firewood. We had planned to stay only 5 days. Had car trouble so had to extend our stay. Repairs were complete sooner then we expected so we left a day early. Owner refund one night stay. Will definitely stay here again. Stayed in a Motorhome. We camped at Ogston RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park is in the country north of Duluth off Hwy 53 but watch for their signs for the road turn and corner. Payment is cash only. Sites were level and long for a pull-through. Nice grounds with a small lake and pond. Hwy 53 south leads you right to town for visiting Duluth. We camped at Ogston RV Park in a Motorhome.
