Overall Rating:

I stayed for just one night while in the Duluth area. The couple who are caretaking are very sweet. The rates were extremely reasonable, especially for a full-hookup site. Sites were gravel, level, and a standard distance apart. The campground has several season long sites, some mature trees, and very clean bathroom facilities. One side of the campground is close to a road and the other side is close to a busy train station, but I still found it to be fairly peaceful. WiFi was good, bathrooms had number lock system, but did not close and lock. I would absolutely stay here again! We camped at Saginaw Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice cg tucked in the corner of 2 busy highways. It can be noisy but we are well insulated so it didn't bother us too much. This park has a lot of workers living in it so there are large dump trucks parking around the perimeter every night. They leave as quietly as possible each morning. Frankly, we could not tell when they came in or left from the other traffic noise. The spot was reasonable and folks were friendly. Nice grass that was well maintained and a fire pit which, unfortunately, was littered with cigarette butts and other debris. The owner was still on his honeymoon when we arrived so a shirtless man was helping out to the best of his ability. We were assigned Site 3 when I made the reservation. He seemed challenged in having us check-in a day early because someone (us) was to check into Site 3 the next day. I tried to explain this to him but no success so we went to Site 2. This site had a breaker issue so the helper moved us to our assigned Site 3 the next day. It was all just a little cumbersome. This could be a quaint park if the owner would staff the office and ensure the staffing was competent. One hopeful camper stopped at our site asking where they could park. I placed a call to the office for them and we waited for a return call that did not occur until the next day. We offered them the name of another cg in the area. While walking our dog the next day, someone dashed after me asking for assistance. They called 3 hours earlier but did not receive a return call. Sorry - I don't work here. Someone else pulled in right behind them and I dashed into my rig. Staffing and answering the phone is important for continued business. No reason not to stay here but I will probably stay at another I already scoped out. We camped at Saginaw Campground in a Motorhome.

We pulled in, no call ahead. Owner came right over. Stayed one night. Cash or check only. Nearby train tracks but they weren't a bother. We could navigate the interior road with our toad attached. Our site was a pull through long enough for 45 ft coach and toad. We had good shade. We camped at Saginaw Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Very clean and well kept campground. The owner is very accommodating and will go out of his way to help any of his guests. Every one there is very friendly. Many seasonal campers and one big family atmosphere. I travel from Ontario Canada, a 12 hr drive just to be there for a couple of weeks. We camped at Saginaw Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This well-kept quiet campground has lots of trees, grass, and long, spacious sites. There are many pull-through sites. Owner is very friendly and attentative, and lives on premises. Rest rooms are clean with large showers. Caters to daily, weekly, and seasonal campers.

This is our first time in this campground. We're staying here full-time from May until September. Seasonal rate is lowest in the area ($1,150 plus electric from 5/1 to 10/1). This campground most suitable for adult campers; there is no playground for children. Other campers are friendly and considerate. Yes, there is some train traffic behind the property, but it is infrequent and doesn't bother us. There is no nearby crossing so trains don't blow their horns too near us. We heard a few trains the first night here, but have had no trouble sleeping through the nights since.

Overall, would highly recommend this campground for either a short-term or long-term stay. We camped at Saginaw Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great location- about 15 minute drive to Duluth, Proctor or Cloquet. There's so much to do within a short drive from this location. We enjoy all the activities offered in Duluth; drive up the North Shore (of Lake Superior); visit the towns along the shore; bike, kayak, fish, walk-this is a great location to visit Grand Rapids, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, and of course, the Lake. We're surrounded by towering pines and birch trees- wonderful!

Overall Rating:

This is a small town campground that is easily accessible without a lot of amenities. The camp was mowed, convenient and has lots of shade but not so much we couldn't access satellite tv. Verizon was spotty. There are lots of long term people set up. The only negative was that one long term camper had a large white tent set up that was unsightly. The owner was very friendly and even refunded an overcharge without any issues. Cash or checks only, they do not take credit cards. There are train tracks and highway noise but it is wasn't anything that bothered us. We will definitely stay again when in the area. We camped at Saginaw Campground in a Motorhome.

Not many 50 amp sites, had to move to back, undeveloped area for 50 amps. Great owner though, lead to new site as roads not clear. Near train tracks, trains loud at night, didn't hear them in day. Where we were was no highway traffic. Great utility set up, had FHUs. Wi-fi close to office, owner says he's putting in new tower so entire campground will have wi-fi later this year. Our Verizon hotspot barely worked and our Verizon cell roamed. Easy to find, outside Duluth, lots to do there. Walmart down hwy 33 about 10 miles. Seasonal people extremely friendly and helpful. Most sites were pull thrus. We camped at Saginaw Campground in a Motorhome.

Many seasonal sites in this campground. Has easy access from the highway. Lady who checked us in, gave glowing remarks on the restaurant/bar across road. Took over an hour to get our food and we were two of the very few that ordered kitchen items. Would we stay here again? Maybe, there are few campgrounds in the area can handle a 40' motorhome that is towing. We camped at Saginaw Campground in a Motorhome.

Great mom and pop campground! Open May 1st to October 1st. Very friendly and directed us to site. Sites and road are gravel, so no dust. Firewood is free within reason and we liked the 12 noon checkout time. The seasonal people really liked the campground/owners and were very friendly. This is a great location close to Duluth, Proctor, Cloquet and Grand Lake. We only heard 2 trains during the day and it wasn't that bad. While they are kid friendly, there did not appear to be a lot of activities for kids unless they like to ride the ATV trails. Would most definitely stay here again. Overall Rating:

This is a very convenient and easy to access location at the SE corner of the Hwys 194 & 2 intersection. Pull-through sites are gravel and fairly level and graded (we stayed during a heavy rainstorm). Friendly hosts, but many yippy dogs around. Our site had good satellite reception along with excellent Verizon Broadband & AT&T cellular telephone reception. The only major drawback was the proximity to a major rail line with frequent trains. Some highway noise, but nothing compared with the trains. We camped at Saginaw Campground in a Motorhome.
