This is our favorite State Park. The new rest stop/visitor station is amazing. Much to see and do inside the visitor station and there is WiFi. The park is very well maintained and the bathrooms are very clean at the visitor station and campground. Due to the heavy rain, the river was running very strong and there was very little beach at the end of the Baptisim River. Hiking is great here, but there was a lot of mud due to the heavy rains. Hiking to Shovel Point is a must for an awesome view. Mt. Trudie, The Cascades, Two Step Falls and the High Falls are always favorite spots. Be sure to visit Palisade Head (3 minutes South) for a breath taking view of the lake. Drive up there, don't park below. Hike to the left of the parking lot for about 5 minutes to see spectacular rock formations. Make reservations early because this campground is full from June through mid-October. We stayed in site 4, which is very long. The fire pit and picnic table were behind our camper making it very private. There is no dump station here, so you will need to go to the town of Silver Bay, about 5 minutes South behind the service station to the left. We camped at Tettegouche State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice campground, but many of the sites are very difficult to negotiate if you have a big rig. We have a 36' 5th wheel and my husband is a really good driver (x-semi guy). He had a tough time. If you have a large rig, the only sites that will work for you are 12, 14,19, 20, and 21. The road in is very narrow, so that makes maneuvering even more difficult. Other than that, if you are not into hiking, this park has little else to offer. You are 1.5 hours from Ely and a fair distance from Lutsen and Two Harbors. We camped at Tettegouche State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice park. We had a very long site as most of them are. This is a very large State Park with many hiking and biking trails. It has a lot to offer. It is one of the few State Parks on the North Shore that offers camping for larger units. We will be back. Very nice! We camped at Tettegouche State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We reviewed this campground previously in 2010, however, this year we were able to hike and explore the area. We hiked to the Baptism River, the High Falls and the Two Step Falls. At first, we didn't understand that we had to walk across the shallow river to get back to the campground. People were swimming at the High Falls. It was beautiful and refreshing. The campsites are spacious, long and private. There is only one bathroom with flush toilets and that is where the water is located. It's a bit of a hike if your site is 12-20. We talked to a cart-in camper who said their site was on Lake Superior, but those sites are hard to come by. There are also rustic walk-in sites in the main campground. There is so much to do and see here. This is one of our favorite North Shore campgrounds. We will return. We camped at Tettegouche State Park in a Tent Trailer.

This is a beautiful, scenic park on Lake Superior's north shore. The cabins were fine, but I wish we had stayed at the kayak sites. They were already taken. Very cold too, if the wind is off the lake, but worth the view. Highly recommend. We camped at Tettegouche State Park in a Campground Cabin.

This park is gorgeous. The week we arrived was when the infamous Sea Arch collapsed. It was one of the most photographed rock formations in this park. The "before" pictures are on the website. We didn't have time to do all the things offered at this park. We hiked to the falls and where the Baptism River meets Lake Superior. We saw a bald eagle there. Electricity was recently added at this park. The sites are spacious and well suited for big rigs. This park also offers cart in and back pack in sites. The office was turning away people without reservations and this was during the week. The bathroom was very clean. Only downside was that we could only find water near the bathroom, which was half way around the park. Also, the non-flush toilets were very clean and didn't smell. We can't wait to visit this park again next year. We camped at Tettegouche State Park in a Tent.
