This park has doubled the number of sites since we were here in 2012. It now has 28 FHU sites, of which only 5 are pull through. There is cable TV and Wi-Fi. The "resort" also has laundry facilities, a bathhouse, motel rooms, and cabins but no recreational facilities. We camped at Big River Resort (formerly Wabasha Motel and RV Park) in a Motorhome.

We only stayed over night. Very clean and quiet , it also had a new laundry building .We had a very nice large tree and the way the site was set up we had a lot of grass we could walk our dog on all the way around our motor home . We camped at Big River Resort (formerly Wabasha Motel and RV Park) in a Motorhome.

This is one of those RV parks that use the word "resort" loosely. We had a very long and wide, full hookup site; grass was between the sites, with a concrete patio, but dirt and gravel surface pull through. Also had a good picnic table and fire ring. But that was it. Resorts, in my mind, should have a pool, playground for children, a small store maybe, a restaurant, rooms for meetings, scheduled activities, and concrete pads. This campground had none of these. The park was very overpriced for just a regular RV site. Also, this park is not alongside the Mississippi River, but if you look at their advertisements, it gives you the image that it is. It is quiet and satellite friendly. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We stayed here for a week in a 39 foot 5th wheel. We would stay here again if in the area. It is a good place for a base to explore along the Mississippi River. We camped at Big River Resort (formerly Wabasha Motel and RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Pricey but nice. Well maintained park with concrete patio, picnic table and fire ring. Our long, pull through, site had level gravel and plush grass between sites. Good water pressure, Wi-Fi and cable. New bath and shower facilities. Convenient to the National Eagle Center, Lark Toys, and the many festivals of the delightful town of Wabasha - including the Grumpy Old Men Festival which is held all over Wabasha at the end of February. (The movies Grumpy Old Men and Grumpier Old Men were set in Wabasha.) We camped at Big River Resort (formerly Wabasha Motel and RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Do not miss Slippery's Tavern and Restaurant (and gift shop). You'll have a great view of the lock and barge traffic on the river while you dine on the best walleye you will ever have. Or sit nearer the bar and watch the movie Grumpy Old Men (where some of the scenes were filmed) and enjoy a PUTZ BURGER, MORON DELUXE (sandwich), or some of RAGHETTIS' SPAGHETTI.

We just used this as an overnight stop, but it was easy to tell that they are really working on fixing up the grounds. Fresh gravel on all lanes and sites, grass is in good condition and well kept. All the picnic tables were pretty new and on concrete patios. The bathroom and shower were together in each of two private rooms, with one more half bath adjacent.

Staff was very friendly and helpful in getting me checked in and to my site. Site was very level. There is not a lot of space between sites, but the sections are broken up into small areas, so there wasn't quite so much of a feeling of being over-crowded. Good water pressure, EXCELLENT Wifi, well rounded selection on the cable TV service with 70+ channels. We camped at Big River Resort (formerly Wabasha Motel and RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an excellent RV park. It's small and quiet with a spotlessly clean and new spacious bathhouse. Our pull thru site number 20 was long with plenty of space for our tow truck. It was packed gravel with a concrete patio, good picnic table and fire ring. It is easy access from the US61 but no highway noise. The owner and staff are lovely and gave us lots of local information for our stay. The park is close to the lovely small town of Wabasha. Wifi was excellent as were the many cables channels. We camped at Big River Resort (formerly Wabasha Motel and RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Owners are very proud of their new bath and shower facilities - very well done. This is a small place with only a couple of permanent units. We ended up in the office basement with everyone in the park during a tornado warning. They made sure everyone in the park was accounted for. Owners had lots of local information handouts. Well maintained park with concrete patio, picnic table and fire ring. Pull through site had level gravel and nice grass between sites. Only issue I had was the utilities are in the very back which wasn't a problem for my water and electric but too far for my 15' waste water hose (I didn't have my second one with me) as my drain port is in the middle of my 40' fifth wheel. Very nice park. Owner have updated the park extensively. Lots of gravel on roads and sites, concrete patio and picnic table. Nice new bathrooms and laundry room. Only one washer and dryer (looks new), $5.00 to wash and dry, but they are a good size. It looks like they are getting ready to put In a new building probably a clubhouse. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Big River Resort (formerly Wabasha Motel and RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice campground. Located on the edge of town and walking distance to downtown. Also, a paved bike path runs right next to the park entrance. The interior roads and sites are gravel, but level and in good condition. Lots of space between the sites, lots of grass and many with shade. Very well groomed and in great condition. A new section is now open and this has a new bathroom and shower facility. WiFi signal was strong. Very quiet and safe. We did hear the train that is about 1 mile away, but didn't bother us (in fact i kind of like the sound of a train in the night). We would stay here again. This campground is undergoing a lot of improvements, including a campground bath house that is brand new and very nice. It was unbelievably quiet, resulting in a great night's sleep. We drove through a number of other campgrounds in the area; none compare to Big River Resort. It is a great launching point for many attractions, including Lark Toys, Pearl Button Antiques, and all the beauty that Wabasha has to offer. The campground hosts were very friendly and helpful, giving us maps and coupons good for many of the local businesses. We will definitely return. Overall Rating:

This is a lovely landscaped hotel parking lot. The sites are paved, level and long back-in sites. When we went there the city was tearing up the roads. There was no real road in or out. We drove down the unpaved road to enter the RV park. When we left, we had to exit via a paved bike path, not more than a wide sidewalk really and drive over the corner of a private homeowner's lawn. Not fun in a 35' RV. A bigger RV with toad came through as well, so it's doable, but not fun. The facilities are very clean. Nice laundry. Good Wi-Fi. Lots of TV stations. Walking distance to the quaint town of Wabasha. We enjoyed the farmer's market. I thought the owner should have been more clear about the condition of the roads when we called before arriving. We are ambivalent about returning. If the roadwork was finished maybe. If not, no way. We camped at Big River Resort (formerly Wabasha Motel and RV Park) in a Motorhome.

This is a very clean small RV park along with a hotel. Big sites with grass and a nice picnic table. Hostess is very friendly. They do recycle glass and aluminum. It was very quiet. Unfortunately, when we stayed virtually every road in town was under construction. If you call the hostess, they will give you directions around it. This park was close to Pepin, Wi. the birthplace of Laura Ingalls Wilder. There is an Eagle Sanctuary in Wabasha that is well worth the trip. We also visited a unique toy store and stone carver. We had a great time here. The staff were great and the park is small but clean and neat, with all the amenities. Wi-Fi was great and cable worked fine. It was a great place to visit area attractions. We saw the Laura Ingalls Museum in Pepin, LARK Toys in Kellogg. The National Eagle Center in town was great and we even took a day and drove up to Redwing. Great little town! Lake Pepin is beautiful! Loved the place! We camped at Big River Resort (formerly Wabasha Motel and RV Park) in a Motorhome.

We loved this park! Easy access from the highway, paved drive and hard packed gravel pads. Some sites may require a little jockeying to back in. The grounds are nicely landscaped and neat as a pin, likewise for the bath and laundry. A great paved biking, walk/hiking trail just across the road. The owner informed me that he is planning to add 15 new pull-thru sites in the near future. Wabasha and the Lake Pepin area is great place to visit. Drive the loop around Lake Pepin to explore some of the old river towns along the Mississippi. Many great shops, restaurants’ and the National Eagle Center in Wabasha. We camped at Big River Resort (formerly Wabasha Motel and RV Park) in a Motorhome.
