Check-in went well. After separating the toad from the MH we were guided to our site. I received directions to Costco from the lady at the desk after setting up on the site. Our site had electric and water but no sewer hookup. Unfortunately, the RV park is being sold to be replaced by condominiums. We camped at St Paul East RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here during the Back to the Fifties Car Show in June. We chose this park because of location to Stillwater shopping and the car show at the state fair grounds. The staff is extremely friendly, showers are clean and warm, the pool is heated. We will reserve again for next year. We camped at St Paul East RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

Big rig friendly with level sites. Laundry and showers were good. Wifi was only available at the office/shower building but was very fast. No dog park but large grassy field that was great for walking dog. Too bad this great campground is closing at the end of the season. We camped at St Paul East RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Walmart and shopping was 2 miles. St Paul was 6 miles and very pretty capital. Harriett Island is one of the best places to take picture of the skyline. Minneapolis was 20 miles and pretty city. Stone Arch Bridge is one of the best places to take picture of the skyline. Mall of America is 30 minutes and a very interesting mall which has an amusement park and aquarium. Minnehaha Falls is 20 minutes very pretty and worth a visit. Midtown Global Market is 20 minutes and not worth a visit.

All-gravel park with usable wifi and water pressure. Heavily treed and on a bit of a slope, so those who need level ground will be frustrated. Our auto-leveling worked just fine. Very quiet. We camped at St Paul East RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park with large dog run area. Wifi only works close to the office. Fire ring is a truck wheel in a hole in the ground. A hazard in the dark. Eveything else was fine. We camped at St Paul East RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The RV park is one run with Teutonic efficiency. I've often said that it is the best run park in the country and we travel some 20,000 miles a year with our RV. It is clean to a fault, and very well maintained which helps to lessen the impact of its pricy nature.

With that said the robotic efficiency is unnerving. Interactions with the managers are proper, but almost mechanical and I always felt as though I was being watched to make sure no rules were broken, like running over the grass.

There is almost no grass in the front of the park, but management treats those errant tonsorially perfect blades as though they were endangered. Campers are reminded often of the sacred nature of the grass and should you run over it a stern lecture likely will follow.

But --all of that is minor. My gripe is with their damnable entrance gate. After hours you must stop, get out and physically open the gate. Then when you drive through you have to stop again, get out and close it. Should you not do so another stern lecture could ensue. You might ask, "What's the big deal about closing a gate," well, when you are disabled and walking anywhere is difficult at best, it is a huge deal. Most quality campgrounds that have a gate have a key punch automatic gate. Some, have no gate at all. This one is a barrier for disabled people.

So my review is that it is a well-run park, but one in which a new gate would greatly increase the quality of the stay. We camped at St Paul East RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Woodbury is a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota in the Twin cities so you have all that a major metro area has to offer, professional sports, some of the best live theater in the country, museums, the Mall of America, hiking and about anything else you can think of.

The previous reviews accurately describe the Park. All streets and pads are gravel. Some sites have grass, but most are gravel. Most of the sites are on a slight grade, some excessive for a Class A coach. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. But, the city is over-running the property and it appears 2016 will be the final year it will be open. We camped at St Paul East RV Park in a Motorhome.

Price reflects weekday discount. We were advised park will close permanently after this season. We had a shaded premium site with a small deck but were unable to get satellite reception. WiFi worked very well. Dog walk was a distance on gravel. Owners were extremely helpful and hands on. Fairly easy access to freeway and shopping. Website advises that gps coordinates should be used. Water pressure was low much of the time. We camped at St Paul East RV Park in a Motorhome.

Owner was very rude and treated me, and others like we had never done this before. Was his way or leave. Actually saw him yelling at someone telling them just go get your money back and leave. (They were trying to back in and he didn't like the way they were doing it.)

No satellite reception available in most sites and water pressure was not good. Place was clean from what I could see. Site was tight for trailer and truck. Where he said we could walk the dogs is where he was putting all the tent campers. Not sure I would want to tent camp in the dog walk area but it is what they are doing.

Locations is great for access to the cities. Heard it will be closed down. If new ownership was to take over I might consider going back. I would highly recommend they rename the place so others don't think it is run the same way. We camped at St Paul East RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Bring lots of sewer hose as the connection is at the street. Very small grass patch between sites. Escort to site. Same price after pool closed. We were placed between two units even though the park was nearly empty. We camped at St Paul East RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very short pull thru site which required us to unhook our truck. The site was level but required us to drive up a slope to get into it making unhooking our truck difficult. Sites are very close but we were given one on the end which was nice. The park was full when we were there but it was quiet. Good for an over-night stop. We camped at St Paul East RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here a few years ago and loved it, so since we were looking for an overnighter in this area, we decided to come back here. We were not disappointed. This is just as nice as we remembered. This park was obviously set up by RVers, for RVers. They know what we like. Large, level sites with utilities that work perfectly. In addition, the people are very friendly. We camped at St Paul East RV Park in a Motorhome.

The restrooms and showers were extremely clean. The whole campground is on a slope, and the sites on the low side need to use blocking to make your unit level. The hook ups are at the rear, so you may need some additional hoses. The WiFi works at your site but does not have the best of connection. We camped at St Paul East RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Well laid out park, mostly gravel and gravel sites. Somewhat close to each other, but have stayed in worse. Extremely quiet place with almost no interaction with other campers. We had feeling that most commuted during weekend. Never talked to anyone nor had anyone walk by. We stayed 3 days and nights and enjoyed the sights of Minneapolis and other communities. Pleasant place but no character. Silly way to provide security into park after hours with need to get out of car and open manual gate lock. With hours 6 am to 6 pm it was somewhat of a hassle. Get a pass-key or something. We camped at St Paul East RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Patio was damaged and concrete was broken-damaged. Could be hazardous if not careful. Best way to spend a day is going to Stillwater, MN. Just a great place to casually wander through antique shops, food, ice cream, gift and art gallery, and pubs of all sizes and shapes.

The trolley tour of town is worth the time and money. Also the noon tour and lunch of the harbor with a paddle wheel boat. I'd go again it was so pleasant and entertaining.
