Everything that was said before on previous reviews, I do agree with . . . EXCEPT: There is absolutely no WIFI. We parked in a site next to the WIFI antenna and even with that and several calls to the office (with no call back), still no WIFI. I went to the office and she said they had "rebooted" the system, and would do it again . . . still no WIFI. They say they have "WIFI at the sites"; not true. For this and no response from the office, I give it a poor rating. We camped at Movietown RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Large gravel pads, level. very large speed bumps coming in (go very slowly) Park could use a little TLC. Tall grass in places and no trimming. Friendly staff, easy to find park with good signage. Park had primarily full timers and I assume they were there for the massive Nissan plant located nearby. We gave the park an 8 based on cost. We camped at Movietown RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Movietown RV Park is not a fancy park, but has an intriguing name. I never did find out the movie connection. The park is a short distance off I-55, and is adjacent to a cow pasture, which it undoubtedly used to be a part of. The cattle was quiet, so that's better than train tracks. The interior roads and pads are gravel, and not all that level. There is a bit of a slope from the pad to the ground. The WiFi was okay, but there was no cable TV. The antenna picked up some stations from Jackson. This park was fine for an overnight, but I don't think I would stay much longer than that. We camped at Movietown RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed at Movietown in a 42' fifth wheel and found it sufficient for an overnight. Most of the inhabitants appear to be permanent or semi-permanent workers. That said, sites are tidy, without the frequently trash-strewn look of many similar parks. Prior to becoming an RV park, it was clearly a field. Gravel roads were put in and ditches dug to ensure drainage. That said, no terraforming was done and the sites are not level, especially the transient sites. We needed eight Stackers to bring our rear up to meet the front. The ditches are an obstacle for pulling into the sites. You DO NOT want to slip a wheel into one. Otherwise negotiating the park was easy. Grass was mowed, ditches weed-whipped and the park appeared tidy. However, there were three piles of dog excrement on our site and at least one on the neighboring site by the hook ups. Nasty. There were a few shade trees for the permanent sites. Electrical was fine. The water pressure was extremely high, and I would not hook up here without a water pressure monitor. We would return here if needed, but we would not seek this park out. site was not long enough for fifth wheel and truck, we had to park on the grass. We camped at Movietown RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a small park serving workers from the nearby Nissan plant. We stayed here previously and noted this time that most of the old, unsightly RV's were gone. The sites are wide, long and reasonably level. Be careful to avoid a storm drain/ gully located along most of the short-stay stay sites. This park is no-frills but a good place to stay overnight for a very reasonable price. We camped at Movietown RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

It was good for an overnight. Didn't use the showers but the laundry room was good. Reasonable prices and clean. There is a playground but that's it. Appears to be a lot of residents. Staff was friendly. No cable. But our dish worked. Couldn't get the wifi to work but Verizon cell service worked. Spot was not completely level. Had to put ramps under the back wheels. We would stay again if passing thru. We camped at Movietown RV Park in a Motorhome.

What a dump! We have been staying here on our way to the Gulf Coast since this park opened. It used to be nice. The only level sites are the ones the residents are on. The spot we ended up on had a pile of shingles, a broken meat smoker, and a bunch of trash. Ever wonder where old, broken down FEMA trailers go? This is it! Just keep driving. It's a shame, because it has the potential if someone would force the residents to clean up their sites, and the owner to level out some sites for the transients. We camped at Movietown RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a no-frills RV Park off I-55, however it served our needs quite nicely. We stayed here a week in a 42 foot 5th wheel on a pull through lot with full hook ups. The sites and interior roads are gravel however, we had a wonderful site with a beautiful shade tree. WiFi and utilities were all good. There is no cable TV but several over the air stations are available. There are a lot of full timers living here apparently, however the park was very quiet and the cattle from a nearby farm quite entertaining. It was a great location to visit many parts of this area at a very reasonable price. We camped at Movietown RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Really enjoyed visiting Jackson and the state capitol. In addition, Ross Barnett Reservoir and the tour at Nissan Manufacturing (auto & truck) was great to visit. A nice day trip to Vicksburg was excellent with the National Battlefield Monument Park wonderful to drive through. Great shopping in Madison with one of the best Sam's Clubs ever!

We did two overnight stays here, once on our way to Texas from Illinois and once on the way home. It's a nice, clean, quiet campground close to I55. It was easy to get into and easy to get out of. There are pull through and back in sites. We camped at Movietown RV Park in a Motorhome.

Internal roads are gravel a little rough, sites are gravel, level and are spacious, facilities worked well, site was satellite friendly. Staff were friendly, did not use park WiFi. T-Mobile cell service was fair, Verizon was excellent. The park was quiet. Beware of the speed bumps! We would stay here again. We camped at Movietown RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very friendly staff. MANY full-timers, and it appears some of them have been there for decades. That said, there didn't seem to be any favorites by the staff, nor intimidation of short-term visitors. Dusty. Grass is kept mowed. Amenities are nice, clean, well-maintained, but of older design. Water pressure in the men's shower was very strong. Sites and roads are gravel, but level. Showers/restrooms/laundry are NOT a short walk from the camper sites. There is also a nice playground for children, but it's also a hike from most campsites. It's named Movietown because several movies (e.g. A Time To Kill, O Brother Where Art Thou?, etc.) were filmed at least in part in the Canton area, and many support staff trailer'd at this RV park (wardrobe, makeup, props, etc.). Even the owner had a bit part in one of the movies according to the park manager. We camped at Movietown RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
