12 Parks near Coldwater, Mississippi
Sep 2015 - $25.00
The park has kind of a dilapidated look to it, probably from the permanent residents. Still, it was quiet, easy to get to off the I-55 and easy to navigate through. The sites were very level, though a little short, with a nice amount of space between trailers. Despite the name, this park is 20 miles from Memphis, so if you are travelling I-40, its not convenient for an overnight. The customer service was friendly but inept, and office hours are very short. Cell signal is great, and the free wifi is very good. This is a place to stay for an overnight, not a long stay. - KAP99
Jun 2015 - $25.00
Needs maintenance. Office hours are very short, no one seems to be around if there is a problem. Electric cord hanging at about 4 feet from ground between pool and office and pool is not very clear and has chipped paint. Park is quiet, not many actual campers here. Many picnic tables would be better put to rest, makes park look unkempt. - jake rocky jj
Oct 2014 - $40.00
Park not exactly as photos on their website. Friendly staff, but on Saturday out of the office for several hours. The long term residents do not all take care of their old trailers, not connected as would expect, odors from the neighbor's site. The dog owners do not all pick up as there was poop close to our rv. Internet was ok. Will not come back here. - Liz & Bob
Apr 2015 - $20.00
This is an Army Corp of Engineers park and quite nice. We found maneuvering with our 30 foot travel trailer pulled by a pickup a bit tight and most of the campsites would have been too short to allow us to park without unhooking but we found one just long enough. We didn't see any official people at all and everything is done on the honour system at a kiosk. It was really quiet and nice. There is a wonderful children's park at the picnic site nearby and some really nice walking trails easily accessible from the campground. There is a also a nice wide ramp to get your boat into the water. We saw many birds and an armadillo and heard coyotes. We also saw a rattlesnake on a trail (it took off as we approached) so be careful with dogs. This place is a bit over mowed and suburban looking for my taste. Also it is obviously visited during the day by city folks from Memphis proper. We felt a need to watch our stuff a bit more closely than we otherwise would during the day due to traffic of day visiting strangers nearby. - Judy Birchland
Jul 2013 - $10.00
Campground is part of COE Lake Arkabutla in northern Mississippi. It is about twenty-five miles south of Memphis. We stayed 3 nights and used it as a base to visit Memphis. Easy access to I-69 and I-55 and Tunica casinos. 8 miles south of I-69. No internet and very poor cell reception. Lake is beautiful and campground is right next to the lake. Probably would not stay there again unless lake use was the reason. Federal senior pass rate. - Cheeph
Feb 2011 - $18.00
The park was overall fairly nice. It was only us and two other campers at the time and both others appeared to be longer term. Facilities were pretty clean and everything worked as advertised. The lake water level was really low by the campground, but I think it will fill up later in the season.I walked to the playground and it was really nice. Lake levels by the boat ramp were up and there was a couple of boaters out. Overall it was a good state park. There are very wooded sites however not a lot of level ground around the site, as the RV pads seemed built up. We were mainly here to shake out the new RV. - Hallock36
Nov 2016 - $10.00
Quite a bargain. Right on shallow lake, quiet and restful. - JAYFLIGHTRV
Aug 2016 - $24.00
Easy hookup. Had no power outages. Loved the lake view. Showers and restrooms nearby and clean. Love this place. Clean. Respectful campers. Very busy on Holidays. We don't fish but enjoyed watching. - Donna16162
Apr 2016 - $20.00
This is a nice COE park. Our site was 75. Nice paved driveway, huge concrete pad with picnic table. (We had 2 tables at this site.) Fire pit was at the back of our camper about 30-40 feet. Grill was on the concrete pad with picnic table. The bathrooms/showers were nice and clean. Showers were nice and HOT. The only reason I didn't rate higher was do to the upkeep of the grounds. Needed mowed and some tlc. Part of this was due to the recent flooding. - Gary Stanton
Dec 2016 - $45.00
Good, level concrete pads. Sites are close but long, plenty room for toads. Nice staff, easy to navigate interior roads, clean toilets/showers. Airline traffic is a bit distracting. Propane sold on premises. - rvrrat520
Oct 2016 - $40.00
As detailed in previous reviews this is a very clean, well maintained RV park. The sites are a bit close together but angled in such a way that the closeness is not a problem. Large rigs with a toad will find some of the corners a bit tight but doable. The utilities are at the rear quarter of the site and require long hoses for the sewer and water if towing. Cable is available with 27 somewhat grainy stations. Satellite can be done from any site and OTA produced 18 digital channels. The WIFI is totally useless as it keeps dropping you after a few minutes of connection, or it will not let you connect with the internet at all. As mentioned in another review the park sits in the departure path of two runways from Memphis Intl airport which can be quite annoying. All in all the nightly rate is a bit high. - lllkrob
Sep 2016 - $40.00
We stopped here for an overnight on our way south and were quite impressed. Here are my notes from this park:
- The park features concrete sites, many of which are level (some not so much).
- The water connection is a bit low to the ground, but workable.
- We used 20' of sewer hose, as the connection was near the back.
- The park is neat and clean with very few signs of trashy campers.
- Roads are paved and easily accessible. It is easier if you disconnect your car in front of the office.
- The playground was small but adequate. Our son enjoyed it.
- Pool was very nice and clean. There was a separate enclosed hot tub, which we didn't use.
- The park is located at the back of a subdivision, and we felt quite safe.
- The staff and other RVers were friendly.
- Grass was very green and well maintained.
We look forward to returning to this first class park to stay a bit longer. - dad2aprincess
Jan 2017 - $54.00
This is a large campground with closely spaced RV sites. We were there for 2 days and it rained hard both days so didn't see many people outside but park was more than half full. Price is a little high - $54.00. My only real complaint is that the internet service did not work well. It kept dropping out. Even our Verizon hotspot did not work well. I couldn't log into my comcast email. There are 2 dog parks, one by the office and one in back. Guess which one people clean up after the dog? The one by the office; people think the owner might see they're not cleaning up. The other dog park was pretty bad. Not cleaning up after your dog is so unfair and dangerous to the health of all the dogs. Thats how diseases spread. Very unfair to the park staff, too. I saw a staff person cleaning dog poop in the morning. That shouldn't be necessary. - UllaPool
Oct 2016 - $54.00
This is absolutely the finest campground we have stayed at. The outstanding feature is the washroom and shower facility. Wow! The sites are pull thru and spacious with full hook ups. Easy to get to, short trip off the interstate and also close to WalMart.
I would say if you are going anywhere near Memphis or within 50 miles, definitely to there, the showers are worth the trip. I even took photos of the washrooms and shower just in case I could post them in a review.
We have stayed at other Jellystone Parks, but none are as nice as this one. - David34
Jun 2016 - $59.00
We have stayed here many times and have come to know what to expect. Clean park, paved roads and RV sites, and reliable services. This time around we did notice that the long-term resident population seems to have increased but it doesn't appear to have affected the park in a negative way so far. You can't go wrong here for a short stay. - Paul Goodspeed
May 2016 - $30.00
Old run down campground, way too expensive for value received. Staff was friendly. Don't take big rig in here. Lot we were in was dirt and unlevel. Tree limbs hanging down dragging top of RV. Would not stay here again. - Mzbhnn
Jul 2014 - $1.00
Park CLOSED in June 2014. It is now overgrown and sits forlornly waiting for someone to resurrect it from the dead. Sad as we rated it a 10 last year. - RVInn
Mar 2014 - $20.00
We have reservations for this park in June and just received a call from them that they are closing down in May as they say Harrah's Casino is closing for good. If you have reservations or plan to stay there, I suggest that you call and check to see how much longer they will be open. - Luvtheroad
Mar 2014 - $1.00
Now this is what an RV Park should be. Spacious level sites with concrete pads, grass, picnic tables, "night" lights at all sites, and trash receptacle at each site emptied daily. Bathrooms and showers were spotless. The clubhouse was spacious, clean, and included pool table, coffee, vending, and television. Outdoor seasonal pool with covered patio and tables. Dedicated pet and children area, playground, and ball courts. Also, had an hourly shuttle to Harrah's casino. Gated entry added to the security. We stayed 4 nights, and ventured into Memphis (20+ miles) and Tunica area. Normal rate is $14 but we were comped our stay by Harrah's. Most of the sites were empty this time of year. Staff was extra friendly and helpful. Great stay. Would come back here any time. - MissMyGolden
Jan 2015 - $38.00
Very expensive for what is there- no pool, mostly permanent camper trailers, evidently it is on the flight path to Memphis airport - from 4:00am to 7:00am continually landing flights every 4-5 minutes ! - User2272
Oct 2013 - $29.00
We decided to try this park for a change of pace from the other area parks we have stayed in over the years. It was the last week of October and the park was almost full of extended stay customers. I saw only a couple empty sites and noticed no other customers who appeared to be transients. We had a fairly level, FHU, pull-through with 60+ channel cable TV. There are 4 rows of sites in this park - the 2 outer rows are back-ins and the 2 inner rows are pull-throughs. Even though the sites are not that small, the park feels cramped because it is so full. I was unable to connect to their Wi-Fi. The office building contains a small laundry and two separate unisex bathrooms. There is no pool and I did not notice any other recreational facilities. No map of the park was given at check-in. Yes, there is a lot of airplane and jet noise. The park is behind some businesses on a commercial and retail road. There is a large supermarket across the street. This park is OK, but the Wi-Fi problem and noise are big negatives. - Jerry S
May 2013 - $30.00
In town, close to freeway, easy on/off. Paved roads with gravel sites and patios. Just long enough for our 37 foot m/h. Not too close to neighbors. Power was low at times, water and cell (AT&T) was good. Satellite friendly, shopping, restaurants close by. Airport nearby. LOT of noise at 3 - 4 in the morning (could not sleep throught it) and again at 3 - 4 in afternoon. OK park, but the plane noise will make us look elsewhere next time. - kmgulf
Sep 2016 - $24.00
We stayed at this Campground to attend the Georgia/Ole Miss football game in Oxford with some friends. The campground itself is nice. We were on site 88 which was shady, roomy, fairly level, and paved. The complaints I have really don't have anything to do with the facilities. First complaint, the gnats are insane! We did everything we could think of to try to keep them away, but had no luck. We spoke with our neighbors who camp here frequently, and they said that some days/evenings are worse than others. They were bad the entire five days we were here! My second complaint has to do with some of the boaters on the lake. If you're looking for a peace and quiet, you'd better look again. There was one boat that was so loud, it was driving us crazy! He circled the cove over and over, all day long! Again, both complaints are no fault of the campground. We have AT&T phone service and had excellent reception. - Campdog41
May 2016 - $18.00
Clean and quiet. It was a Sunday however. Our site (92) was super spacious. Most sites appeared well spaced with large grassy areas. Our site was paved and level. Check-in was simple and quick. Sewer connection would give it a 10. The overall campground had a lot of trees but our camper area had no shade. - Hipcrip
Feb 2016 - $18.00
We were going to stay here based on reviews but when we arrived the park was almost empty and appeared very run down. A lot of sites share water and requires you to have a long water hose. Our first impression was bad so we moved on down the road to another campground. This was only the second MS state park we went to and it did not compare to Lefluers Bluff in Jackson which we liked very much. I would not return to this park again. - Zoom45V
Nov 2016 - $45.00
This place was pretty much a dump, but as close as we could get to downtown Memphis. It's not in the best neighborhood, and there is no gate on it, so I felt a little unsafe.
We also got kicked out at 11 o'clock (because it was check out time), even though there were tons of open spots. I've never been asked to leave and found it a bit rude.
There is another park down the road that has a gate and cleaner facilities. Spend the extra $5 and stay there. - Sweetcornprincess
Oct 2015 - $40.00
Well I made a reservation at the wrong place. For $5 more a night I could have stayed at a much nicer park. Full hook ups 50 amp , water sewer and a WiFi that is pretty good. Nice people here but park needs major work.
Site was fairly level and owner picked one to get good satellite but I don't think they know I need a clear shot due south and there is a big old beautiful oak tree right in the path. Good news pulled in 20 stations or so of antenna. I would not stay here again. - signaloil
Sep 2015 - $32.00
This is an old park and it shows its age, but not in a bad way, just a little rough around the edges. The owners are very nice people. They compensate for the size of the sites by limiting occupation to every other site, which works well, giving every one a bit of grass and comfortable picnic table space and ample parking. Very dog friendly, with lots of nice walking and play areas. The neighborhood has its noisy moments, but it IS in town and I'm here on a weekend. - Spike in FL
