This park is hard for us to rate. The park itself is lovely. Administration while we were there was weak. Cars were parked in our site when we arrived. The rangers did come and direct us to another site, but it was a bit disappointing not to have a lake view when we had reserved our site many months ahead. And even though a ranger told us where to change our site to, another ranger came along the next day and tried to charge us $40 more. They said they couldnl't go online and change the site we were assigned--and neither could we because the website prevents changes that close to arrival. We camped at Persimmon Hill (Enid Lake) COE in a Motorhome.

This lake and park is absolutely gorgeous! We stopped for only one night during our trip to east Arkansas. There is an 8' concrete picnic table, charcoal grill with round cement table near it to use for your BBQ tools. There is a fire pit with firewood stacked nearby. Lake views are beautiful.

Please note. RV trip wizard was directing us to I-55, exit 227, then to CR 35, etc. These directions would've taken us to George Cossar State Park. Thankfully, we used the directions on the Persimmon Lake COE website. I-55, exit 233, east on 36, then right on 39 (Enid Dam Rd), then left on 34. Then follow signs into campground. We camped at Persimmon Hill (Enid Lake) COE in a Motorhome.

Great weekend campground. Very quite and peaceful. Great view of Lake End. Very well kept. Not a lot to do in the area, but we went just for a peaceful weekend. We camped at Persimmon Hill (Enid Lake) COE in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Part time camp host told us we could stay 28 days, and then he could get us an extension from the ranger for another 28 if we wanted. Knowing the COE rules of 14 days at a time, I mentioned it was not like that at other COE parks in other states we had visited, but he insisted those were the rules here (website rules beg to differ). Too many people have been here way beyond the rules, even some sites occupied by campers with no one staying in them. Rangers drive by frequently & have to know people are staying too long because they see the same campers/cars every day. The whole campground had fairly high weeds, and no one mowed for the next 7 days while we were there so the weeds were really high. That resulted in lots of bugs. The only area that seemed to stay mowed were along the entrance roads. We noticed a large pool of oil in the corner of our site spilled by the previous camper & tried to find the full time camp hosts, but never could and never saw them doing anything in the park for the 9 days we were here. We even knocked on their camper door with no response. We wound up buying cat litter to pour on it to at least try to soak it up. When we did finally find the part time host again, no one ever came to clean it up. No way this park is a 9.1 rating. We camped at Persimmon Hill (Enid Lake) COE in a Motorhome.

Batesville nearest town with Walmart, Lowes, Kroger, but nothing to do or see. Fish hatchery atvpark entrance is worth the $2 admission.

Absolutely the best COE park we have found in our travels. Sites are concrete with additional space for your toad. It is very busy on weekends. Nice spacing between the sites. Interior roads are easy to navigate. All sites are FHU now with 30/50 amp service. Price reflects the America the Beautiful discount. We camped at Persimmon Hill (Enid Lake) COE in a Motorhome.

We stayed on Site 56 backing up to the lake but not right on it. It is very clean and easy in and out for big rig. Not very close to restaurants. We will stay here again when we can get a site, they do have some drive through sites, but are usually taken for the weekend. COE. We camped at Persimmon Hill (Enid Lake) COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are a couple local places, but we drove to Batesville twice, and once to Greenwood for the Crystal Grill. Don't miss that, great country and Italian food. About 40 miles but well worth the drive.

This is one of the nicest COE parks that we have stayed at, even with the cut backs they keep it up. Pads are concrete and water and electric hook ups are in great place. Most sites have some type shade and all have water view. Close to I-55 but no traffic noise. Park rangers travel thru campground often. Each spot has picnic tables and grill. Bath houses are cooled and heated and were clean even with the park being quite full. We camped at Persimmon Hill (Enid Lake) COE in a Motorhome.

My family of 4 stayed 4 days on site 72 which we loved! Fishing was great. Kids rode bikes. Swimming area is nice. The lake is awesome. We had no complaints while we were there except it rained one day which gave us a nice relaxing napping day. We did fresbie golf which we enjoyed thoroughly. We will definitely be back this summer!! We always plan to stay a few days at this park when traveling south for the winter & going back north in the spring. It is a great place to go whether traveling or just to get away from it all. Very clean. We camped at Persimmon Hill (Enid Lake) COE in a Motorhome.

This is a great campground. We have stayed there twice. Big, level concrete sites with concrete patio. Each site has a cast picnic table, grill, fire ring, and pad for a tent. Sheriff patrols campgrounds. Dump station and handicap accessible bath and showers. We camped at Persimmon Hill (Enid Lake) COE in a Motorhome.
