Another nice COE campground. Quiet with beautiful lake view. Wish we could have stayed longer but just an overnight stop. Not far off I-55. There is a short detour. Full hookups and large site. We camped at Wallace Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

For the detour, the road is actually better if you take the road away from the park and go north on Hwy 51, then cut over.

Great facility for a stopover or a few days. I did have to rent for two nights, but well worth it for full hookups. Level concrete pads and parking areas. Site was a bit unlevel side to side, required one leveling block. Just a few miles from I55. Bridgework being done during our trip, detour was well marked both directions and easily accessible. We camped at Wallace Creek COE in a Motorhome.

This was a very nice and well kept park. Rangers drove through the park multiple times a day. Lake views at most sites. Some sites not completely level. All hookups worked great. The only issue is that the main bridge going to the Enid Lake area was closed. Had to take a detour, well marked, down a narrow road. We camped at Wallace Creek COE in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is one of the nicest COE park I have camped at. Excellent campground layout with very generous spacing between sites. All sites are concrete with a gravel drive and sitting area. Most camper parking pads are completely level, the remainder are very close to level with the only deviation being front to back. Most water sites are above the water level with grass lawn or rip-rap (rocks) down to the water level. All sites have a table, stand-up grill, lantern hanger and a fire pit; on some sites, these are on a level lower than the camper with steps down to them. On a few sites, there are no steps, but just lawn down to the lower level. This campground has full hook ups with good power and adequate water pressure. The interior roads are well maintained and easy to navigate even for for large rigs. The exterior of the bath houses look modern, but the interior looks a bit dated and old. But, they are clean. The showers have real mix valves - no push buttons. The CG has a only the street lights that are necessary, but if you like it dark at night, when you select a site be observant of the location of the lights - they are bright. At the time of this review, there is a well marked detour entering the park, so if you are using a GPS ignore it after you pick up the detour. Lots of room for boat and towed vehicle parking. Staff was friendly and helpful. We camped at Wallace Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped at Wallace Creek for one night on our way back to Louisiana. It is one of the nicest parks we have ever stayed in! Many of the sites are right on the lake. The sites are spacious with lots of room between sites. Site 26 appears to be one of the best, if not the best, site. All of the sites in that section are nice, but 26 has a great view of the lake and a big private grassy area between the site and the lake. A great site to watch the sunset. We camped at Wallace Creek COE in a Travel Trailer.

Another beautiful Corps campground. Lots were full hookup. We had a large pull thru with no water view but it was a very private lot. The utilities worked fine. Lot was level. Didn't use facilities. Easy access from I-55, use Exit 233. We camped at Wallace Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

FHU, spacious and level site, beautiful views, picnic table. Wallace Creek COE was one of the best camping experiences we've ever had. The sites are concrete, and at least 70' long (ours was 100'). Each site had a large picnic table, BBQ prep table, hibachi grill and fire pit. Driving through the park was easy; roads were accessible, trees trimmed. The sites are mostly shaded and there is a good distance between sites. Normal price is $20, they offer many discounts (military, senior, disabled, etc). The best activity at Wallace Creek is relaxing!! We camped at Wallace Creek COE in a Motorhome.

It's 65 miles south of Memphis if you want to visit Graceland. Fishing is popular here. It is very relaxing, with showy sunrises and sunsets; I recommend relaxing!

The sewer is now in most sites at Wallace Creek. Our site was at the edge of the hill overlooking the lake, a truly beautiful location. There are other campgrounds around the lake, we looked at a couple of them. Chickasaw Hill looked like work was being done to install sewer there, lots of ground torn up and work going on. This is a really nice park, hopefully we'll be back. We camped at Wallace Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Check out "The Place" in Pope for a good meal. The two sisters who own it have done a great job refurbishing an historic building, and have their hearts and souls in this little place. Well worth a visit.

Excellent park! The sites are concrete with a slab for your extra vehicle. There are concrete tables, fire rings, grills, and a pedestal for your gas grill. This park is laid out well. It has water and electric hookups and just a class park. If they had sewer I would have given it a ten. This is the best CIE I have been to. We camped at Wallace Creek COE in a Motorhome.

This was our first time at this COE campground. It is very similar to others in this area; clean rest rooms and showers, well maintained grounds, mostly level concrete pads (some but not many may require some leveling blocks), friendly volunteer staff, park ranger drive-throughs several times a day and night, good water pressure and consistent 120 volt service (fluctuated between 118v and 122v even with all the camper AC's running). They have closed the Woodpile loop indefinitely (sites #73 through #99). Rate includes discount for Senior Pass. Will definitely stay here again. We camped at Wallace Creek COE in a Travel Trailer.

Nice Corps campground in a pretty location. Sites are long and well spaced. We had full hookups in our site (#18) and a great view of the lake. Price is with our senior pass. You just can't beat Corps of Engineers campgrounds for quality and value. We camped at Wallace Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

In Dec 2013 I embarked on a 10 day tour from St.Louis to the Gulf and stayed in 6 different state campgrounds in that time. This was my favorite. Although the terrain is not level, especially near the lake, the sites primarily are. The pads are primarily concrete, double wide, and lots of pull-throughs. The view from my site (#30) was breathtaking even in Dec. As with many such campgrounds the picnic tables and fire pits are in odd locations on some sites (#41, 35, 38 for ex.). The best views are at:20, 24,25,27, 28,29, 30, 32,34,36,39,39 and 42. But note that the ones around the 30's may have the table and pit down a hill. The grounds were clean and nearly deserted in Dec., but it looked like distance between sites was tolerable. The loop around the 30's had fewer trees and both my satellite and cell service was pretty good. Restrooms quite nice. The price was a bit lower than most of others in MS but much nicer. We camped at Wallace Creek COE in a Motorhome.

This is our 2nd time staying here. It's convenient traveling south out of Memphis. We stayed in site 01; the interior roads are wide asphalt and very maneuverable; the pads are poured concrete; you need to watch for out of level or sloping sites, especially near the water; The 50A electric and water pressure were fine; restrooms and showers were clean; Our rate reflects "off season" rates from 11/1-3/31 with Golden Age discount. You can't beat $6/night! The nearest town with stores and restaurants is Bateville which is 10 miles away. We would stay here again. We camped at Wallace Creek COE in a Motorhome.
