20 Parks near Gautier, Mississippi
May 2016 - $27.00
This was our second stay at Indian Point. During our first stay, we were assigned a site in the "PA" row, which has concrete pads is not too bad. This time we were given a site in "PC" which is so sloped that it was literally impossible to level our RV. We moved (at our request) to another site in the row that was not as bad as the first one they gave us but still very difficult to get level in.
Most importantly, insist on a site in row PA as PC and PB are not even close to level for the most part.
There appear to be a number of perms and/or long-timers living here, but the park is quiet at night and we had no problems.
Bring your bug spray because the flying insects are numerous and hungry.
The roads inside the park are quite bumpy so drive slooooowly. - w3sjkb3aam
Apr 2016 - $27.00
OK for an overnight stay but that's about it. Restrooms/showers are badly in need of a complete rehab. Laundry is "closed until further notice." Roads within the park are in need of regrading. Basically, an old and tired park. The only plus is the wifi is good. Lot spacing is very close with some shade. Site surface is a concrete pad. - BruceVero
Apr 2016 - $30.00
This was an overnight stop. We were assigned a paved overflow site so we could back in without unhooking the trailer. Very nice folks at check-in. We didn't use any of the park's amenities but it looked like a pleasant place. The cafe was closed down The Wi-Fi was spotty in the evening but early morning it was pretty much trouble free. We would stay there again. - sprinter55
Mar 2015 - $24.00
We stayed here two weeks and enjoyed it a lot. The Good Sam discount didn't apply to the weekly rate, but the price was good without it. The staff was great. There are lots of long-term campers here and we were put in the "overflow section"....which turned out to be fine. It was level, and was backed up to a large lawn and great views of the bayou (birds, boats going by, etc.) The shower/toilet building is older but kept very clean and everything works. Our only complaints were with the terrible Wi-Fi. It was always weak or no signal at all, and dropped out constantly. An added bonus was the cafe that was on site. They had good prices and good food. Most of the raves were for the breakfast items and the Thursday night steak special. We will definitely be back next year. Watch out for the biting gnats, however! - stocky
Dec 2014 - $15.00
The park allows extended stays which was nice since my husband was working at the ship yard on a 2 month contract. They have a minimum 6 week stay. The RV section is close to the office and surrounded by permanent mobile homes. They have a great pool and playground, bbq grills and picnic pavilions. I felt very safe taking an evening jog around the park. They allow small pets so sparky was happy. Overall an excellent place to stay if you are visiting the coast! - Dora the Explorer
Mar 2016 - $18.00
We found this park to be very clean and easy to get around in. Yes there were a couple of low hanging branches but nothing that was a worry.
We did not use the bath house so can not assess it's cleanliness but the rest of the park seemed to be very clean.
The lady at the front office was very helpful and welcoming.
We had 50 amp power and water, which a lot of state parks do not have either.
I think for the value it is a great place to stay, especially with the amenities it had.
We would certainly state here again if in the area. - prstlkid
Jan 2015 - $18.00
Stayed at this State Park for one night while passing through. We arrived after dark, so navigating through it in the dark was a little tricky. There are a few low limbs on the road going into the park, but you can get around them. Very quiet State Park. Bath house was not clean and in bad need of repair. There was a sign on the women's door that said the bath house was in the process of being remodeled, which they were obviously working on. We stayed in Site 24, which is a pull thru site located just off the road. Pretty site and fairly easy to get in and out of. Electrical box worked fine, but needs to be upgraded. Very nice and friendly staff. We would stay here again. We camped here in Jan. 2015 in a 40' fifth wheel. - Digetydog
Oct 2014 - $18.00
Gravel roads. Our site had a nice view of the marsh. We expected trouble with mosquitoes but had none. We had trouble leveling. No WiFi, very helpful staff. Even though it was full it was very quiet. - winnie1
Jun 2015 - $28.00
We have been full timed here at Santa Maria for three years now. We have another trailer we travel in which is why I began to look at park reviews. We choose this park over others in the area because it is quiet and very spacious. Also it is close to town but you feel like you're living in the country. There is a small very nice farm next door with horses and goats. Also there is a pair of bald eagles that frequently fly over the park. They can be seen many times a day in a sitting in a tree that you can see clearly from the park. The laundry facilities are clean and in good working order. The bathrooms and showers are very clean and always fully stocked. They have a nice salt water pool that is very well kept. I find the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this park to anyone wanting a nice quiet place to stay . - C6js
Jan 2013 - $28.00
Poorly maintain, dirty. Staff have poor attitude. We stayed for 6 months due to hospital needs and had to request our lawn to be mowed. Rules not enforced. Police called a number of times due to fighting and drunkenness by construction workers that live there. Website mis-leading, pond completely overgrown with weeds, no boat ramp, and alligators present at times. - lbowker
Feb 2012 - $28.00
Park is not as advertised. There is one area, next to the road, with level pull-thru sites, basically a gravel parking lot. The rest of the park is dirt and nowhere near level sites. The pool was not open, and did not look like anything I would use. There is only one, not "pools" as advertised. The "fitness room" is a storeroom with 3 machines which do not work. One thing the park does have, which the ad doesn't mention, is a 4-wheeler track around the pond which you have to listen to 8 hours a day. There are no rules concerning pets, so dogs are penned/tied outside and no one picks up after them. Vehicles speed through park. Very disappointing. - Vern&Margaret
Oct 2015 - $40.00
We stayed for 2 months. Lot sizes are nice with cement slab for picnic table. They kept up on lawn maintenance.
There are a lot of permanent park model trailers. They offer WiFi. Not top of the line but does do the job. No cable but your antenna picks up many station. Washer and dryer. Not sure nightly rate we payed monthly rate. - Anne14
May 2015 - $40.00
We have stayed at Camp Journey's End many times over the years not only because of its proximity to The Shed BBQ, but because it was a lovely campground. This is no longer true! It is about one third the size it was before and except for some full-time residents, the place looks abandoned. The ads on the internet claim they have wifi, cable, showers and bathrooms. The wifi is marginal, cable is nonexistent and the one shower is so nasty I wouldn't bathe my dog in it. There are two toilets (unisex) where I killed a large cockroach one morning. The place is horrible - the worst by far of any campground we ever had the misfortune to visit. Get your Shedhead on, but stay ANY place else in the area. - Mother Goose
Apr 2014 - $40.00
Nice wide pull through sites and trees and landscaping were nice. Right next to a great BBQ place and across from a good gas station with diesel. Quiet and easy access. Now to Why I gave it such a poor rating. The park is on a highway easement, they can't use over half the park, and it hasn't been updated in years. No WiFi, pool was a swamp, low water pressure, ants everywhere, no TV channels available even on antennae, no Good Sam discount, and no credit cards accepted. - Axe and Cindy
May 2016 - $12.00
Spent a week here this spring,
Very nice park!
Clean, well kept, big spaces
Very convenient. - happyflyer
Jan 2016 - $11.00
This campground is very compact and although there were a number of large rigs in the campground during our 2 night mid-week stay, pay attention to the site lengths when reserving a space; some are quite short. Also, the campground was full both nights we were there, so reservations are advised. Sites were back-in, electric and water, paved and fairly level, and could easily be corrected. Large rigs should avoid heading around the tight turnaround by site 16, as it's tight. Be mindful of the low hanging branches. Showers have individual doors and are very private. The National Seashore intake person came around in the early evening to make sure everything was OK with our stay, a very nice touch. The only demerit for the place was the bunch of cigarette butts in the fire ring. The rate shown reflects the 50% off with the federal senior pass. This is the second time we've stayed here and will always return here when in the area. - Jay Rutherford
Oct 2015 - $11.00
Private showers (own outside door). Very friendly hosts. The park's natural features are quite nice (can see the alligator!). Our site was around the edge so shady with tall trees (acorns at night!). - Paul-Amy
Mar 2016 - $22.00
When you pull in, there are very nice cabins, a putt-putt, pool, hot tub, a nice playground and lake. The office lady was VERY nice and then you pull out to enter the campground. When you make the turn into the actual campground you see cluttered, old campers with junk all around them. It looked like 90% are long term residents and the spaces are paved but close. We were sent to the back section across from an old camper graveyard slophole and 2 dumpsters, what a lovely view! This could be a very nice campground if the permanent rift-raft were made to clean up and remove the freezers and junk from outside their campers. Will never stay here again and do NOT recommend it.
Lot spacing was very close with a sunny/open exposure. Site surface was a concrete pad. - Countrygal1
Mar 2016 - $22.00
Passport rate. I called ahead and got the pull thru site. Sites are close together but okay for a night or two. Convenient to I-10 so there is a bit of interstate noise. Pull thru site view is of the storage lot with old, damaged units and close to dumpster. But it works for a quick stopover when traveling. We would stay here again. - lstaff
Jul 2015 - $22.00
Primarily permanent rigs and many not in the best of shape. Used to be a nice park as we had often visited years ago. The wifi was excellent, surroundings not so much. Will not return unless things change. - Part timers
Mar 2016 - $29.00
A parking lot with hookups. No amenities, not even an office. Check-in is at the casino across the street, and they barely knew what to do. They couldn't find our reservation, called another facility, found the reservation, didn't assign us a site, didn't know what to do with the site assignment paperwork. We had two reservations - here and their sister park at Hollywood casino in Bay St. Louis. At Boomtown, they "found" our reservation, but then cancelled our second one without telling us (the folks at Hollywood recovered nicely the next week though). Overall - don't stop in Biloxi as an RV'er. - Neil_and_Sandy
Feb 2016 - $29.00
This campground is a converted, very large parking lot. It is very clean with large concrete pads and all sites have full hookups including cable TV and WiFi. If you plan to camp here, you definitely need a bathroom in your camper. No facilities at all. Location of the facility is easy to find off the interstate. If they offer you a pull through site, be advised that these sites are two sites each and you might have to back in. Casino security monitors the campground but you rarely see them. Overall, a great alternative to spending $200 a night for hotel rooms in Biloxi. No campfires allowed. - F35mech
Dec 2015 - $37.00
This place advertises $29/night but adds on a "resort fee" and tax to make it $36.75. The "resort" does not have a restroom or shower or anything other than a very good concrete pad with full hookups. There is an entrance and an exit with gate arms and a keypad to enter a code, but the arms were up the whole time we were there. There is one of those building on stilts for security or a manager but it was unoccupied the whole time. Be careful when you call to reserve your spot. This is a casino RV park, but the reservation taker is at a different casino which also has an RV park. We were told there were restrooms and showers, but they are at the other RV park. The Wi-Fi access code they gave us was for the other RV park. It took four calls to figure out the problem. The park itself is very clean, just no on site management. - dropframe
Jun 2016 - $52.00
We stayed here for an overnight stop as we passed through the area. We picked the park based on reviews here and called for a reservation while on the road. Boy were we disappointed. The park is 1/4 mile from the water (not a big deal for us, but might be for others) in a pretty unattractive part of town. Nice entrance. We arrived after the office closed, but a package was waiting with our info (except for the receipt we were promised by e-mail). We found our site easily enough. We travel in a 40' 5th wheel. All of the pull-throughs are exactly that. Our rear bumper was on the curb and the front of the cap was on the curb on the other end. No room to park the truck anywhere near the site. Utilities were clean and seemed to work OK, although the pedestal tripped our Progressive surge protector once. Didn't see any sites - either pull through or back in - that were much longer than 40'. Be careful if you are in a big rig. When we left in the morning, we waited until 9 so we could visit the office and get our receipt. Supposed to open at 9, but not one was there by 9:15-9:20. We were told by someone on site that there are new owners since September and the customer service has really gone downhill. I don't know what other choices might be in the area, but I don't think we would ever go back. - FireFlyer
Apr 2016 - $45.00
I love this RV park, we stay here through winter. There are two things I really don't like, the wifi and the cable tv!!
We haven't had WiFi since we came in November and many cable tv channels don't work.
The staff are all very nice and Saturday lunches are nice but WiFi is frustrating!!!
I will come again, we like all the cement in the park, but we need to find a different WiFi option. - KS0923
Apr 2016 - $47.00
At first we thought we were in the wrong neighborhood, not a safe looking area, but when we approached the the park the entrance was very impressive. Our site was a back in which was good because our RV is only 24' All sites are concrete and very level, good cable and wifi. Considering a RR nearby and the AF base, noise was minimal. Coud have used a little more shade. - Arnold Tobias
Mar 2016 - $32.00
Excellent location on Beach Boulevard. Great showers and laundry, attentive friendly helpful staff. Excellent manager. Office open 9-5 7 days a week. Garbage picked up in front of your site by 10 each morning. Good WiFi, and cable box available for refundable deposit. Will definitely stay again. Take a "white noise radio" to sleep through the sirens on Beach Boulevard and the frequent trains close by at the back of the property. Stayed two weeks. - Clemson Fans
Jan 2012 - $32.00
Dirty and the sites are not well laid out. Many, many full time residents. Trashy looking. We were sticking out into the roadway. They could not accommodate the size of our 40 foot rig. We paid for 5 days then found another place. They would not refund our money. - Newbet
Nov 2011 - $31.00
First week of stay we discovered management problems with employees. Very poor management never keep advertised office hours. Very difficult to contact with problems. Every other hookup was on the wrong sides. Outdated electrical plug ins. Tent people living in back. Witness excessive use of alcohol of tent people. Nightly parties way past curfew times. Homeless people breaking through back gate to shower. Frequent visits by local police due to suspected drug use. Men and women's shower room share the same pass code, that we were told had been the same for more than two years. Manager's space across from office now occupied by "new" managers, (third ones since our stay) in an extremely old camper with home window unit sticking out the side. Also heavy drinkers and suspicion of drug (crack) use. Felt very unsafe: no place for children. Worse campground in Biloxi. For your safety PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!! So very sad to give the beautiful town and beachs of Biloxi such a bad name. - 1766 unhappy camper
