This park was a surprise. Very clean, great laundry with 4 machines, paved, level sites and cable was good. We also had good ATT reception. The park is very close to the Gulf, casinos, lots of restaurants and shopping.
We were in the area to visit our son. The park made us feel very safe and noise from the interstate was not a problem for us.
If we returned we would stay here again. We camped at Campgrounds of the South in a Travel Trailer.
Several shopping centers within short distances with most big-box stores close by.

Stayed here for three days on our way west. Not far from Gulfport proper and
easy access to 90 for the scenic Mississippi Gulf Coast Drive. We broke it up into
two days, went east one day and west the other. About 10 miles from Biloxi.
Easy access to I-10. Lots of shopping, malls and outlet stores nearby if that's
Very friendly, helpful staff.
A bit noisy, as it is right next to the freeway. But, with the warm temps and air
conditioning running most of the time, you don't hear it.
Full hook ups 30/50 with cable. Both pull through and back in sites.
Unfortunately, while we were here there were flood watches, warnings the whole time.
Pretty much constant rain, thunder and lightening.
The campground was soaked. The actual sites were raised a bit and dry but getting to them and
out of them meant driving through some HUGE puddles.
Bathrooms with showere were clean, okay. Not the best and definitely not the worst we have see
during our travels. Was told there is a laundry room but did not utilize it.
Great spot for an overnight, or if you plan on spending your days exploring the coast. Not a
destination in itself.
They do accept Passport America. We camped at Campgrounds of the South in a Motorhome.

We stayed for 3 nights. It is just off of interstate 10 so you will have traffic noise while staying there. The staff was very friendly. Close to many stores including a premium outlet mall. They have long pull through site that fit our 42' fifth wheel and truck. Plenty of room for your slides. The pull through spots are at an angle. Great deal with passport america discount! We camped at Campgrounds of the South in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Check in was easy. Staff was very friendly. Paved roads and sites were helpful because there had been a lot of rain. Restrooms were just okay. It is a good place for an overnight stay but excessive freeway noise would discourage a long term stay. We stayed here on a Passport discount and were required to pay cash/check. This is a nice clean park. There is a host on site that will help you navigate to your site. The sites are back ins and are quite tight, but doable (our fifth wheel is 40' and we did not have much of a problem). The sites are all concrete and level. The hook ups are located in the middle. It is near I-10 which can be a little noisy. The wifi is good. There are no tables or fire rings, but nice grass on all sites. We would stay here again. Campground is ok for an overnight stop over. It is located right off I-10. If you don't like noise from the interstate this is not for you. Park seemed well kept. Check in easy. Cash or check, no credit cards. We are almost 65' hooked up pull through sites long enough that we did not have to unhook. Site was level. Not many in the park when we stayed but had the park been full might have been tricky or even impossible navigating as the roads and pull through sites are narrow that along with the angle of the sites does not make it big rig friendly at all. We would stay again if passing through and the park was not to full so we could navigate. We camped at Campgrounds of the South in a Fifth Wheel.Undo
Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $25.00
Great location to park while enjoying the MS Gulf Coast. Concrete pull-thru sites and very friendly and helpful staff. It's a good place to park, but not if you are expecting amenities and entertainment in the park. We camped at Campgrounds of the South in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $21.00
A no frills CG convenient to I-10. Pull-thru concrete pads with room for a 42 RV with tow. Great CG host and assistants. 10-15 min drive to the beaches. 20-30 min to the casinos. Will stop here again when in the area. We camped at Campgrounds of the South in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: December, 2013 - $25.00
This campground is good for an over night stop-over, or as a base for visiting the Biloxi-Gulfport area, but I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time just hanging around the campground. The grounds are clean and uncluttered, but there's no privacy and the I-10 noise is always noticeable inside, and downright loud outside. We stayed here over night on a trip west and would use this park again for the same purpose. We camped at Campgrounds of the South in a Motorhome.Undo

Nice park. Cash or check only. Some monthlies but very neat. Nice and quiet. Took a hike along the lake. Would definitely stay here again. Easy access. This is a city run park not a resort, so no cable, laundry, or Internet. So if you need these amenities, this would not be your park. We camped at Campgrounds of the South in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

This is a good spot for an overnight stay. We were greeted by the friendly camp host and promptly checked in. Sites have concrete pads. We saw several pads that were broken and unlevel, but most looked okay. There are no tables or fire rings on the grass between the sites. Sites are just wide enough for large rigs. There seem to be many permanent residents here, but we neither saw nor heard them, and as we walked around we noticed all sites were clean and neat. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The Wi-Fi signal at our site was strong and reliable. This is the PPA rate. We camped at Campgrounds of the South in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $25.00
Good sites and clean restrooms and laundry. Close to interstate, but the highway noise was not too loud. Friendly owner and well informed about the area. Close to grocery shopping. Stayed there for over a week and enjoyed ourselves. We will return. We camped at Campgrounds of the South in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $25.00
The RV sites are level and cement. It has easy access to I-10. The hosts were friendly. How ironic that we have paid almost twice as much in other campgrounds with sites composed of gravel and dirt. There is plenty of space for the tow vehicle and the RV. We would stay here again. We paid $25 cash only. We camped at Campgrounds of the South in a Travel Trailer.Undo

I can’t believe no one has reviewed this campground since last year! We were a little hesitant to stop here for just that reason but after talking to the manager on the phone, his friendliness put us at ease. And a very nice campground it is. They honor camping club memberships so our rate is a Passport America rate. Long level paved lots with drainage slopes at each end (pull-throughs). Had absolutely no trouble with our 40' fiver. Back-ins were also long with the slopes at the end. Restroom are dated but very clean; laundry also very clean. Grass is mowed. Not much in the line of shade, courtesy of Katrina, but the trees are trying to make a comeback. Close to shopping and a great choice of restaurants. Yes, there is considerable noise from the interstate but when you’re inside with the AC running, you barely hear it and it quieted down at night. There is also an airport and train tracks nearby but few trains and fewer planes. We did joke that we felt we were in the middle of “trains, planes, and automobiles”, though. Great cable and Wi-Fi. Easy drive to the Gulf where you’ll find plenty of places to park to enjoy the beach. No pool, but who needs one when the Gulf is about 4 miles away? No picnic tables or grills or playground; just a clean, well-kept campground with easy access to I-10, food, entertainment. Would definitely recommend this to others. We camped at Campgrounds of the South in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Rate is passport. I needed a park in Gulfport and there are many to choose from. I saw a great review from 2013 with much older reviews with lower numbers. I thought it might be a fake review but I needed a late arrival and they took PA. What a pleasant surprise. Nice park with flat cement pads. New hook ups and all is included. Don't pass this one up when going to Gulfport. We camped at Campgrounds of the South in a Motorhome.Undo
