We stayed in spot 44, which had full hookup for sewer, water and up to 50 amps. We have a 40' RV. Shade both morning and afternoon, but not full shade all day. Good, level spot that was fairly easy to back in to. We could see the lake through the trees. Quiet, peaceful area. Right across from bathroom and showers that were super clean and air conditioned. The trash dumpster was only about 50 yards away. Access roads into park are two lanes but narrow with many areas having no shoulders. Once we were in the RV area there were one way narrow lanes but this spot was easy access in and out. I had called before we left and talked to staff in the office (super nice) and she assured me we could get in and out with our large Class A motor home. This was extremely helpful and made us feel better about going to this site. We didn't have a tow vehicle but if we would have there would have been just enough room on the asphalt pad or we could have parked in the grass. This is a corner spot so we had extra room on our passenger side which was a plus. - cjnexp

I was really disappointed in Percy Quin. Over the years I had heard so many wonderful things about it. Going back and looking on this website at the reviews from 7+ years ago, it was like reading about an entirely different park. There was a lot of variability between spots, and not just between regular and premium. Some lots had a good amount of space with a decent layout, but most were small and/or had an awful layout. For instance, it's most convenient when the picnic tables and barbecue pits are on the opposite side of the hookups. (Hookups on one side of the RV, main door opens from the other side.) This place had picnic tables and Barbecue pits behind the RV spots and even on the same side of the hookups. Others were so far away, it wasn't clear which spot the table belonged to. Also, there were no fire pits yet people had fires going with less safe makeshift pits. Not all of the sites had numbers on them, making it confusing as to which site was which. Also, some of the sites had steep and abrupt drop offs from either the asphalt on the RV pad or the concrete from the picnic table, creating a fall risk. There were no trash bins at individual sites, as mentioned in previous reviews from years ago. Instead there was just 1 big 18-wheeler dumpster near the entrance of the park. The mosquitos were really bad, but the lake was pretty. If you like fishing that would be enjoyable. There was one couple who came from way up North to spend 3 months there. Perhaps there is something I'm overlooking? I'd rather be in a nice quiet COE park with lots of space and amenities. We checked out each site and the ones that had a good layout (table and barbecue pit on the "easy" side of RV), were level, and had decent shade were the following: 16, 17, 52 (near waterfront), 56 (on waterfront), 60, 62, 66, 71. - GearDown

This is a beautiful park with three sections; an "Upper Loop", a smaller "Lower Loop", and a primitive area. The campsites in the Lower Loop have asphalt paved parking lanes with spacious gravel areas, a fire ring and a picnic table. The parking lanes are short and the sites are close together. The more desirable Upper Loop was closed for electrical repairs. The park host was very helpful and made frequent trips around the area to ensure everything was clean and proper. We stayed at Clear Springs on a holiday weekend and all the sites were full. - StJohn

We thought we might want to stay in the unserviced area, but after seeing the terraced campsites with a view of the lake we couldn't resist. Pretty as a picture. Clean and quiet too. The showers were hot and free. The trails could use some new markings, but we didn't get lost or have to turn around. The primitive area is outside the main gate. There is no water available there, but the sites are far apart and the road (graveled) is in good condition. They go for $7.00 per night. - GiroRV

The good: The area has a nice lake and several great hiking trails, ranging from about a mile up to 10 miles. The camping spots were mostly level, if somewhat uneven. They had large flat areas for tents and nice fire rings. It was very quiet and dark - great star viewing between the tall pine trees. Should be nice and shady during the summer. Very clean campground, and the host was superbly friendly and helpful.
Not so good: Some sites were somewhat short, even for a TM 3023. We stayed in #3, and I had to park across the drive after unhitching to stay out of the road. This campground does not take reservations. We arrived at about 5:30 PM on Friday before MLK weekend and took one of the last two spots. The last spot was filled within 20 minutes of our arrival. Due to tree removal, one of the two campground loops was closed, so they were down to 11 of their normal 22 sites. The showers in the lower loop bathrooms got no warmer than tepid. The swimming area showers were much better. The facilities could have used a little more maintenance: broken faucet in the bathroom, broken board on the playground, aforementioned lack of hot water.
Google Maps and our GPS directed us down Wagon Wheel Road to get to the campground. This was a rough gravel road and NOT the right way. Stay on the paved road: the campground is straight ahead in a short distance. - Usafabronco

I thoroughly enjoyed staying here! It was quiet and incredibly peaceful! I spent the day walking around the campground, fishing, and reading under the trees. We were in the camper, but they had more than just RV hookups. They had a large meeting room, a bunch of cabins with showers, and a pretty big kitchen with hang out area. Everything was nice and definitely exceeded my expectations.
Contact the manager directly. She's very easy to work with, even with last minute stays. - hsjenkins
