33 Parks near Naval Construction Battalion Center, Mississippi
Jun 2016 - $45.00
Stayed here for 2 nights. Friendly check-in. We had trouble with our electric, and they came right away. It was our surge protector that was the problem. We were in site 124, near Beach Blvd. No road noise, but the train does run a couple of times at night. We were by a couple of trees, so we did have some shade. We could not get their wifi signal, so no wifi. Nice pool. We would stay here again. - User2475
May 2016 - $44.00
Except for the roads everything is grass or sand. good hookups, level spots and clean park.
The only negative is they say they have WiFi, sorry but the service is nonexistent!
The dog run was a nice addition since we stay the last time though. - tONY1952
May 2016 - $40.00
This is the nicest campground we have ever stayed at, the only fault I can find is the entrance and exit on to Highway 90, Beach Hwy. one way traffic allows only access to the west bound lanes. This has nothing to do with the campground but you need to know this as you can only enter going west bound. The beach is across the street. - Danny285
Sep 2015 - $36.00
Park looks real nice but the issues are endless. Breaker boxes not properly working; we had to plug in next to us due to the breaker box at our site blew the breaker and sent a surge through our motorhome!!! We reported it to maintenance, management with no response which is unacceptable. If they dont care about the guest camper what else do they not take care of?! The pool wasn't open when we first arrived. Finally in July it opened only to not be taken care of. Present state the pool is green!! No laundromat! ! New washers and dryers but not in use which probably goes back to the electrical problems. Trying to talk to the manager is like pulling teeth!! She has no personality nor will she speak to you as she goes by. No one staying there is friendly. I have never stayed anywhere that when u wave they ignore you!! A few long term residents and unfriendly. I would have to say this is the most unfriendly place I have been in a long time!! We stayed a couple months and the changes they promised never happened! ! And the trains are constant!! There are much nicer places on the coast to stay!! - Ggboo
Jul 2015 - $40.00
We stayed at Fox's over the 4th of July Weekend. Location is awesome, it's walking distance to the Gulf of Mexico beach. Nice cement slab for parking. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The pool was clean. We really enjoyed our stay and would go back. - Anne14
Jan 2014 - $25.00
We are spending a month here. We stayed here when the original owners had the park and came back shortly after Katrina to find the park had really declined with the new owners. We decided to try again this year and are pleased. It appears the new management is trying to clean up the appearance. They are on top of all maintenance issues and respond to all problems in a polite, professional, and efficient manner. The laundry room is clean and well maintained. They work to keep the park safe, monitoring the traffic. They still have a few work trucks and poorly maintained campers, but appear to be cleaning that up and upgrading. We believe they are back on the path to being a premier destination park in the future. - Gloriasue99
Oct 2015 - $22.00
Paved sites are in good condition and level. The park is quiet, clean, and well-maintained. We would stay here again. - RunsWithScissors
Jul 2015 - $22.00
A great place to stay in Biloxi, without being on the beach. This is a quiet well kept campground on Keesler. You do not hear a lot of noise from the planes here. The staff is always very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. All sites are on concrete pads with full hookups and cable. The water pressure is excellent and no problems with the 50 amp. There is a good mixture of shady and sunny sites, with most shady sites taken by long termers. There is a city park next to it with a walking track, tennis and baseball fields, a boat launch and fishing in the Back Bay. The beach is about 10 minutes away and many amenities are on the base as well as on Pass Road. and would stay again. - Raegirl2
May 2014 - $20.00
We literally limped into the campground with no brakes and a flat tire on Memorial Day. The office was closed for the holiday, but a friendly regular came out and recommended the perfect spot for us, considering that we were in need of rv repairs. It was flat, pull-thru, with shade. The next day, the manager referred a repair service truck to help us with our brake problem and we were good to go then. Everyone was friendly, and you just can't beat the price! We stayed 2 nights. We were pleasantly surprised that even though the campground is part of the air force base, it was very quiet with no sound of planes taking off.I would have liked to stay longer, but we had other commitments. I would definitely go back again. - WyldeRaven
Jan 2016 - $30.00
Long level sites. Paved with grass. Picnic Table. Great service. Will use again. Easy access. Some mud due to rains. We're in a large 40' + 25' trailer and had no issues. - sballey
Oct 2015 - $40.00
The park is well maintained, the shower houses are cleaned several times a day. The manager is very nice and runs the park proficient. They have 3 shower houses and 2 laundromats on property. I would recommend this park to everyone. - Ggboo
Aug 2015 - $30.00
I was having service done at a Freightliner service center which is located about 1/4 mile up the street. So this was a convenient place for me to camp. For the price, it was pretty basic. I had a nice long pull through site with full hookups and cable TV. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They also have a small store on site with camping needs and some food. Probably not a place I'd go to vacation, but if you need to be nearby then it will work. - Tri14Multisport
Mar 2016 - $35.00
This is an older park, we stayed overnight and had good power, water was 52psi, cable was a bit snowy, antenna was better and Wi-Fi was with Tengo slow and did cut in and out and a bit tricky to sign into. Sites are level concrete with a patio. Lot's of trees, this could be a great park, but it needs some work, great for overnight as it's right off I-10 with little road noise. - Traveler II
Mar 2016 - $35.00
Sites have concrete pads and patios (with picnic tables). On many pads, the concrete is broken, and therefore not level. Cable is analog, and the signal is poor, very snowy. TV from an antenna provides beautiful digital image. WiFi is through Tengo Internet, and is SLOW and intermittent. - ta96silver
May 2015 - $33.00
We were here for just 2 nights to visit the area on our way to New Orleans. Nothing special about this place, but it is a short ride to Biloxi and the rates are much lower than the parks in town.
Our site was a pull through and was long enough for our truck and 38ft trailer if we didn't want to unhook. The park is fairly well kept and clean and relatively quiet. There is an RV dealer across the road, but they are more sales oriented. The "store part" is small with a limited selection of items.
We would stay here again if in the area. - Mack & Mary Ellen
Mar 2016 - $32.00
Excellent location on Beach Boulevard. Great showers and laundry, attentive friendly helpful staff. Excellent manager. Office open 9-5 7 days a week. Garbage picked up in front of your site by 10 each morning. Good WiFi, and cable box available for refundable deposit. Will definitely stay again. Take a "white noise radio" to sleep through the sirens on Beach Boulevard and the frequent trains close by at the back of the property. Stayed two weeks. - Clemson Fans
Jan 2012 - $32.00
Dirty and the sites are not well laid out. Many, many full time residents. Trashy looking. We were sticking out into the roadway. They could not accommodate the size of our 40 foot rig. We paid for 5 days then found another place. They would not refund our money. - Newbet
Nov 2011 - $31.00
First week of stay we discovered management problems with employees. Very poor management never keep advertised office hours. Very difficult to contact with problems. Every other hookup was on the wrong sides. Outdated electrical plug ins. Tent people living in back. Witness excessive use of alcohol of tent people. Nightly parties way past curfew times. Homeless people breaking through back gate to shower. Frequent visits by local police due to suspected drug use. Men and women's shower room share the same pass code, that we were told had been the same for more than two years. Manager's space across from office now occupied by "new" managers, (third ones since our stay) in an extremely old camper with home window unit sticking out the side. Also heavy drinkers and suspicion of drug (crack) use. Felt very unsafe: no place for children. Worse campground in Biloxi. For your safety PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!! So very sad to give the beautiful town and beachs of Biloxi such a bad name. - 1766 unhappy camper
Jun 2016 - $20.00
I, like most, read the reviews before coming here. I first had some questions because several were not very good. I am glad we did not depend on any of the bad reviews. We were just going to stay for one week, that has turned in to two so far at $140 per wk. Sites are close but not as close as some I have been in. Paved streets, concrete slabs, and I have 40 ft motorhome with no problem. Close to very good restaurants, just a couple miles from the beach.
I have site 102 and yes it is close to Interstate, but with AC running we never hear anything. May stay another week, but regardless when in this area we will return to "Campgrounds of the South." - chiangraijim
Apr 2016 - $23.00
We spent one night in a 44 ft. RV with slideouts and a tow. All sites are pull-through with concrete pads, but they are close together and short for big rigs. We didn't have to disconnect the car, but there wasn't an inch to spare. It had rained before we got there and, despite the paved sites, there were huge puddles throughout the park. The overall drainage is very poor and the entire park was a muddy mess. We had no problem getting a DirecTV satellite signal, but the guest host didn't have the WiFi password--and never managed to get it from the owner--so we weren't able to see if the park WiFi worked or not. Fortunately, Verizon cell coverage was excellent and we could use own Verizon Jetpack for WiFi. Overall, despite the excellent Passport America price per night, we didn't like this park very much and wouldn't stay there again. With a shorter RV and dry weather it might be OK. - Carolynp
Apr 2016 - $23.00
We stayed for 7 days here. WiFi was not good, spotty. Also for cable they gave you a box to hook up. I could never get ours to work, so carried back to office. We were to leave Thursday but our drive through site was flooded in by a severe storm and we were not able to leave for all the flooding and mud.
Not close to the beaches or casinos. - archbarb
Oct 2015 - $40.00
We stayed for 2 months. Lot sizes are nice with cement slab for picnic table. They kept up on lawn maintenance.
There are a lot of permanent park model trailers. They offer WiFi. Not top of the line but does do the job. No cable but your antenna picks up many station. Washer and dryer. Not sure nightly rate we payed monthly rate. - Anne14
May 2015 - $40.00
We have stayed at Camp Journey's End many times over the years not only because of its proximity to The Shed BBQ, but because it was a lovely campground. This is no longer true! It is about one third the size it was before and except for some full-time residents, the place looks abandoned. The ads on the internet claim they have wifi, cable, showers and bathrooms. The wifi is marginal, cable is nonexistent and the one shower is so nasty I wouldn't bathe my dog in it. There are two toilets (unisex) where I killed a large cockroach one morning. The place is horrible - the worst by far of any campground we ever had the misfortune to visit. Get your Shedhead on, but stay ANY place else in the area. - Mother Goose
Apr 2014 - $40.00
Nice wide pull through sites and trees and landscaping were nice. Right next to a great BBQ place and across from a good gas station with diesel. Quiet and easy access. Now to Why I gave it such a poor rating. The park is on a highway easement, they can't use over half the park, and it hasn't been updated in years. No WiFi, pool was a swamp, low water pressure, ants everywhere, no TV channels available even on antennae, no Good Sam discount, and no credit cards accepted. - Axe and Cindy
Jun 2016 - $1.00
The owner is an egotistical know it all who has no idea how to run a CG. When Checking in you get read a long list of rules and none enforced except driving in the correct direction. Quiet hours 10pm to 8am are a real joke. The owner was cutting grass at 7am and hit the hitch on the back of our class A with the riding mower. He did not stop and ignored it as no big deal because he had a doctors appointment, no serious damage was done but the hit was hard enough to knock stuff off the counter. We asked for a 50 amp site and was put next to a disaster,TV blasting all hours, yelling and slamming doors all night long, dog barks till they return. This is not the worst, red truck(does not move) is filled with garbage, stinks like rotting fish, along with garbage outside camper. If you look at the Facebook page , you see smiling happy people singing karaoke, it's true and some are really good, but they are not campers but his friends that come in for his Tuesday nite karaoke club. Most of the people here are here long term. He owns 4-5 old trailers he rents out. This is small campground with one road of traffic people doing business with a 2min stay??? Usually both bathrooms closed, but open on Tuesday during Karaoke. Pool usually green, maybe a day a week where it is clear, sites gravel back in, not much grass in between. This guy is a SLUMLORD! No Respect.
The only good thing about this place is the wifi. - Kesch
May 2015 - $25.00
We stayed several months. The park is very clean. The laundry room/restrooms are close to camp sights and very nice. We have 2 small children and my husband works away for periods of time, I felt really safe staying here. The owners make you feel welcome and at home. The pool is nice we all enjoyed it. They also have a fishing pond and ducks which we enjoyed feeding by the pond. Relaxing and fun, great family environment. Other campers here are friendly and nice as well and this park has affordable rates vs other parks on the coast. Overall we loved it. Had to leave due to my husband's job transfer, if ever back in the area this is definitely where we will stay. - samatha
Sep 2008 - $27.00
This is a small park on a very busy four lane hwy..Noise is like being next to the inter-state..Site somewhat level..Would be nice to have wifi..Would not camp here again... - escaper
Jul 2016 - $28.00
Well, we read all the reviews, and even after reading the negative ones, we decided to book our annual RV vacation at Buccaneer. We camped for 1 week in a 31' rig with two slide-outs, in spot #117, which is in the Treasure Bay Loop of the park. There were plenty of trees in that loop, so plenty of shade in the AM and PM. Yes, the train tracks were very close-by, but it didn't bother us. We like the trains. As for the campsites themselves, they leave a lot to be desired. There was very little grass, and the dirt (dried mud) had TONS of trash and debris embedded in it. And we're not talking post-Katrina debris. We're talking lots of trash, broken glass, pop tops, bottle caps, etc. It seemed that everywhere I looked in this park, there were cigarette butts.
The paved RV pad was very narrow and drops-off; so you have to set up your awning and patio rug / chairs on top of dirt. Which turns into a lot of mud when it rains. Most campgrounds have a paved pad for the patio area. As others have said, it is unbelievable that paying campers have to pay to use the wading pool. I can see charging for the water park (which was nice) but the wading pool should be included for paying campers.
There was very little patrolling / oversight from the rangers and staff. Quiet hours are completely ignored by many of the campers. Screaming, yelling, arguing and loud music at all hours of the night. People were letting their dogs run free more than I've ever seen anywhere else.
The park is not very well maintained; including the showers and restrooms. This place seemed like chaos most of the time. It seems like we enjoyed our vacation when we were away from the campsite, or inside our camper. We won't be camping at Buccaneer State Park again. - Chillaxin 3
Jun 2016 - $25.00
Shady and roomy enough. In the back so you do hear the trains at night. Would choose to be more in the front next time. There is no trash pick up from the open cans which is strange.
The pool inside the grounds is closed Mondays and Tuesdays which was very disappointing. There is a $6.00 fee to use it. Only 2 to 2.5 ft deep not sure why a lifeguard has to be present or make it adults only on those days! Had some loud music a few spots down from us. Kids roaming unsupervised everywhere. Not far from a beach area. Casino just down the street. Downtown Bay. St. Louis is quaint and not to be missed! Not sure if I would stay here again. - Reenie beanie
May 2016 - $24.00
We camped here for Memorial Day weekend. It was absolutely booked, but still worth it. The campground was made up of several small loops. We stayed on Barataria loop. The sites were rather close together and offered no real privacy. The campground is located near the beach, so it's not very wooded. Each site had a picnic table and a trash can but NO FIRE RING. The only campfires we saw were in fire rings that campers brought themselves. The trash cans at each site did not have a bag or a lid and were not emptied during our stay so we chose to take our trash the the dumpster ourselves. There is a nice playground within walking distance. LOTS of kids riding their bikes around the paved loops. The showers were clean but water was lukewarm at best. There is a water park on site but it was too expensive for a day. They should offer a discount to campers or a multi-day pass. The beaches, outside the park, are a hidden gem. It's a short drive from the campground, exiting either left or right. The campground is about 30 minutes from Biloxi, and one hour from New Orleans. - UnderTheStars
