Many sights on the water. Spacious, quiet and relaxing. Our site is 47 and we are sitting on a small peninsula ten feet from the water. The campground is a bit removed from highway but the roads in were excellent. All the facilities are in great shape. They have a laundry, swimming area and boating. Rest rooms are very clean. They maintain the campground very well. It shows they take pride in making this campground special. For $12/night on the water it is hard to beat. We extended our stay an extra night. This campground is off the charts. We camped at Piney Grove COE in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here two nights while traveling the Natchez Trace Parkway. The campground is about 15 miles from the Trace, out on a finger of land that juts into the lake. Many of the sites are on the water or have a water view. There are LOTS of trees, which is nice for shade but not so nice for maneuvering. We found a back-in that fit our 45' fifth wheel and HDT and getting into the space was challenging because the loop roads are kind of narrow. Some of the loops you shouldn't even go in (and we didn't) because the turns are too tight. The pull-through sites were nowhere near long enough for our big rig. Bathrooms were very clean. There were at least a couple basketball courts. Dump station was easy to access. We would stay here again, it was very peaceful and beautiful. We camped at Piney Grove COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We have been coming here for almost 20 years for a family reunion about 20 miles away and are well acquainted with the area. We usually park in a different part of the part, but our normal section was closed until mid May for site upgrades. Our site was satisfactory, but the roads were narrow and quite hilly. We camped at Piney Grove COE in a Motorhome.

If you want to get away, and I mean away, and sit on a peaceful lake and unwind, this is your place. I planned to stay 7 nights here and it turned into 11 because it was so beautiful. The campground closes on Nov 15 and they were on a walk-up system during my stay. They have park volunteers that man the gates and check people in. You go pick your spot and then go pay. During this walk-up part of the season, they do NOT take credit cards. You have to pay by check or by cash. They were only about 10% full so I had my pick of spots. The nearest amenities are a good 40 min drive so you better be ready to kick your feet up and do nothing. The lakeside sites could not have been better. Backed up right to the lake. Kayaking was great...the water clean and clear. There's only 1 hiking trail here near the entrance and it's short but there's another state park (Tishomingo) which has plenty of trails. It was about 5 miles. There is a nice swimming beach for summer times use. They had newer showers and bathhouse for the swimming beach. Site accessibility (easy to back in, plenty of room, pull-throughs also available) - 5. Campground location (Way off the beaten path. Good roads in, lots of hiking at Tishomingo park nearby) - 2. Nearby amenities (Shopping 40 minutes away) - 2. Site Privacy (spacious sites not a lot of privacy though) - 3. Campground amenities (Bathrooms/showers decently clean. Laundry has 2 working washers and 2 working dryers) - 3. Dog friendly (Excellent walking loops and plenty of space) - 5. Activities (Water activities. Swimming beach in summer, basketball courts) - 3. Cost ($24/night for 50 amp W/E hookups) - 4. Staff friendliness (The park volunteers and rangers were extremely nice) - 5. Connectivity (Decent signal without a booster for both AT&T and Verizon with good download speeds. Terrible OTA. Only 3 channels..all PBS) - 2. Total rating = 3.70. We camped at Piney Grove COE in a Motorhome.

We arrived during a Fall weekday and were told to go pick a spot and return to register. I always love that. (Reservation season had ended.) The park was 90% open. We found one we liked on a loop that no one else was on. Let the dog off lease. The pad was side-to-side level. There was a nice round concrete pedestal table to put our portable grill on. Also there was a lamp stand with hooks, as well as a fire pit. The patio was lined with timbers and filled with limestone gravel. Very clean. We had adequate Verizon coverage. Only TV reception was Alabama Public TV which had a very clear signal. Loved the lake view. We stayed two nights and wanted to stay longer but had to go. We will go back. We camped at Piney Grove COE in a Travel Trailer.

This is an amazing COE park. Many of the sites are on the water. There are large pull-thru and back-in sites. Sites are well designed and very spacious. This is one of the nicest parks we have stayed at and hated to leave after staying three days. During the off season you can select any site that is open and there are a large number of excellent sites. We camped at Piney Grove COE in a Motorhome.

We stay here every June to attend my family reunion about 25 miles away. This park is above average for a COE Park, with all sites being paved and 50/30/20 amp electric available. Many sites are level but some can be a challenge to level on. Water front sites are normally booked up every weekend. The showers can we invested with flying gnats and nymphs depending on the time of year of your stay, they are clean, but take note. There is poor Tv and cell service and heavy tree cover, so satellite reception requires a portable dish. We camped at Piney Grove COE in a Motorhome.

This has been our Campground of Choice in Northeast Mississippi for many years. And it remains so. Have noticed during last 7 years that care of the park has deteriorated some. Still very nice and great workers at the registration station. Noted some plumbing issues in Men's shower near site #31 on last visit and they were not corrected during our seven day stay. Weekends and Holidays are really busy during the summer, so we try to go during week. Will be returning soon for another stay. Just a few miles to north of campground entrance is a corner gas station with restaurant. Recommend the fried chicken tenders. Trying the catfish next time. Name is something about Margaritaville. Used to be Burton One-Stop. We camped at Piney Grove COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful views of the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway area, which forms a large lake in the immediate vicinity of the campground. You can see the occasional barge go by, and there were a LOT of boaters/fishermen on the lake in addition. Sites were fairly close together, but the view made up for it. Most sites are fairly level. I guess the budget crunch has affected this campground. It has been several years since we stayed here and it has gone downhill. The restrooms were horrible. Our site had no grass and since it rained for two days it was nothing but red clay. With the 50% discount you don't expect much and that's what we got-not much. We camped at Piney Grove COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We stay here every year for 3-4 days for a family reunion in the area. We always get the same site, reserving 180 days in advance. Summer time the park is normally full on the weekends, as it was at over 95% this visit. Lots of kids, pets, watercraft, bikes and walkers. Very nice spot to stay at the Bay Springs Lake impoundment on the Tenn-Tom Waterway. We camped at Piney Grove COE in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice place for the family to stay in Mississippi. The lake is beautiful and the fishing is awesome! They brought in reptiles from the science museum on our visit for the children. I love the layout of each campsite. The staff is very efficient and helpful. My only advice is to read about each campsite and make sure it fits your needs as some sites are more suited for tents and shorter campers. The ranger was very friendly and can offer a lot of advice on the area. We camped at Piney Grove COE in a Travel Trailer.

We come here at least once a year. Excellent COE park that is heavily used by locals in the summer. M ake sure you have reservations for weekend stays. Many of the sites can accommodate the largest RVs. The water pressure is strong, so a regulator is needed. Power quality is never a problem. Make sure you get your supplies before arriving, since the location is 20+ miles to any town of size. The rate shown is the for the Federal Senior Pass at a 50% discount. Wonderful CO E campground. Paved sites and interior roads are easy to navigate even in larger RVs. Using the GPS address of 244 County Road 3550, New Site, MS 38859, may instruct you to turn left onto a closed road. Instead keep going straight on this 3550, past the picnic area turn off, and you will to the CG office eventually. We were issued/given large black trash bags at check-in. A nice, albeit unusual, courtesy. Sites on the water are well worth the extra couple dollars. Many long sites but most have a slope that may make it difficult for longer (40') motor homes to level. Not an issue for travel trailers or 5th wheels. Also, there are concrete "parking curbs" on the sites, some of which are a couple feet away from the rear of the site. These curbs lessen usable length of some sites. We were unable to level on Site 99 (which has a wonderful view) and were moved to Site 61 in the walk-up campground. Office staff were very helpful and patient regarding our site change and even drove over to check on us. Site 110 has an excellent view of the water. Sites 1 and 5 are very good for longer motor homes. Price shown reflects half-price discount with Access Pass. We camped at Piney Grove COE in a Motorhome.
