Feb 2012 - $10.00
Nice park in a natural sitting but could use some TLC. The sites were mostly level side to side but some had a considerable slope. Our 50amp plug was not working properly so had to switch to the 30amp but not a big issue. The roads and sites are all paved and it was easy to navigate with a big rig. The sites are very wide with cement picnic table and fire ring. Lots of trees so satellite may be difficult at some sites. There were a couple of long term units at the entrance to the loop that did not give a good first impression of the park. Water pressure was very high, make sure you use a regulator. - wingerphil
Nov 2011 - $10.00
This is an absolutely beautiful state park with immaculately maintained facilities. In our minds, the only thing that keeps this from rating as a perfect 10 was the lack of a fire ring at our site. The PA price of $10 is unbelievably low for such a nice place. The CG is extremely quiet with lots of wildlife. A large beach and playground would be wonderful for the kids in warm weather. The night lighting was similar to what you would expect in a neighborhood. Although this makes for a safer park, it detracts a bit from the camping experience. There is only one pull-through site, but all the sites are very roomy. We'll definitely return to the CG when in the vicinity again! - Full-Time Roamers
Nov 2010 - $18.00
This was a surprise to us great little park, the staff was friendly and helpful, Good electricity great water pressure. They do have a beach swimming area, and three rental cabins. Suggest that buy all of your supplies in Newton before coming here, as Decatur store left a lot to be desired. Good sat coverage on the odd number sites, use our View Qube with no trouble. We could see the lake behind us through the trees. Lots of hardwood trees, and lots of deer. One of the neat thing is all sights have a built in fire ring, and grills. All sights have a flat spot landscaped for tents, and a holder for a lantern. We will be back here a lot. - Frank Henn
Jul 2017 - $13.00
This is a pristine and typically very quiet National Forest campground. Beautiful fishing lake, sand beach, off the beaten path but paved roads to the c/g. All sites are paved with gravel on adjacent area for table, fire ring and grills. Has 30 & 50 amp service plus water. No sewer but has dump. 6-8 of the sites were long enough for our 35' m/h. The rest are fine for shorter units. Bring everything you need with you! The nearest store ( 12-25 miles away. - 2Pauls
Oct 2014 - $13.00
This is an outstanding NF campground. Beautiful grounds, paved, level sites that back up right to the lakefront, peaceful and a lake full of bass. I had the lake loop all to myself. The only negatives, which have nothing to do with the park, itself, are the lack of usable Verizon signal and the roller-coaster roads that connect the park to the freeway. I would stay here again and get an out of state fishing license. - mockturtle
Apr 2013 - $13.00
The campground has eight RV sites, of which only sites 1 - 4 would accommodate a 40’ rig. It would take some doing with maneuvering and leveling blocks. Sites 1 – 4 have decks overlooking the lake and its beautiful surroundings. The park manager and staff were exceeding welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The wood for a campfire ring is provided free of charge. AT&T cell service was good. On some sites, the water faucet is located several feet down an embankment. Be sure to watch your hitch at entrance upslope. Daily rate reflects senior discount of $5/day. - DD Rolling Ranch
Apr 2012 - $18.00
This is an older State Park. It is on a beautiful small lake with 8 pull through sites. Sites 1-4 have 12X12 decks built out over the hillside, overlooking the lake. The restrooms and showers were dated, but clean. The onsite Ranger was the friendliest I have ever met. Dropped by a couple of times a day asking if everything was ok, and if he could help with anything. Nor really close to anything. Actually closer to the town of Sebastipol so I'm going to list it there, also. If looking for a place to get away and do nothing but maybe fish or hike, this is the place. - gywrwjt
Aug 2018 - $20.00
This is a nice, basic campground. We had some problems with a hole a positioning in campsite but, with some work, managed a great position. We were right on the lake. There were playgrounds around. Many people used the roads for running and biking. The hosts were wonderful. Bathhouse is lacking but the chemical toilet near us was clean. - Michaeljess
Jul 2018 - $10.00
Stayed here 5 nights over July 4. Beautiful campsites on the water. Private, spacious and well maintained. Will be back. - DaveBatez
Jun 2018 - $10.00
Beautiful sites. We stayed on LOBIOLLY loop Site number 14. Perfect site for our 30 foot trailer and Chevy Silverado Dually long bed. Full shade. We're here for the weekend and many families are here with their boats and small children. It's still client with an occasional group of kids on bikes. Road to the entire park and to the dam. There are beaches. Plenty of picnic areas for a packed lunch. Gorgeous sunrise from our site. Laundry looks ok, will utilize later today. Definitely a return place. $10 fee is with National Park pass. Damsite welcome center open Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4 PM. Here on Saturday we missed it. Park, not campground, could use some grass cutting. No firewood for sale but feel free to burn anything already on the ground and there's lots of it. Good exercise picking it up! - Mamag76
