18 RV Parks near Perkinston, Mississippi
Nov 2015 - $55.00
If you are RVing with your own ATV off road vehicle, this is the place for you. Otherwise, "nothing to see here."
Overpriced, all trash cans overflowing, no service other than security guard upon entry. He didn't want to take credit cards "too much effort".
Tried to rent an ATV for about $150 1/2 day. Went to club house as directed and found ATV with keys in ignition. Turned over but wouldn't start. Called and got voice mail. Called back after we left.
Site was level. - Joe Chernow
Jul 2014 - $38.00
We stayed here due to location only. The grounds maintenance was satisfactory, but there were a lot of old run down campers and several trashy sites. WIFI was pretty much useless. Drug use and thefts were evident. Police presence had increased much throughout our stay. We moved to Shady Cove RV Park in Hattiesburg, MS and paid a month's rent. Afterwards, we found out both parks have the same owner. We are looking forward to leaving there also. - Terry5048
Sep 2009 - $20.00
We stayed in a tent site. It was very large and shaded. The river was awesome, but bring water shoes. Great family park for first time campers. There are several permanent residents. - User1201
Jun 2009 - $22.00
We stayed her June 2009 for about a week. It was nice a little rustic but right on a creek, could use a few more trees and maybe an additional shower with better flow. The staff we nice and we plan to camp there again this June. - dbourg1964
Jan 2017 - $25.00
Loved Flint Creek until they installed the employees in the premium sites in the Mohawk area. One employee takes up a double site. Permanent decks, lights, looks really ghetto. Park hosts place is disgusting. Not a pretty site as you drive in. Limited premium sites to begin with but looks like employees are more important. Cigarette butts are a real problem also and would not dream of setting foot in the rest room or shower area. And liked it better when it was wooded. - DianneH
Jun 2015 - $25.00
The cleanliness was really bad. We had to clean the bathroom up just in order to use it properly. They really need to invest in new cleaning personnel. We will never return. - Davidson Family
Aug 2013 - $23.00
The park is nice and very secluded in the woods. We were on a lake site. A few complaints would be the grass was uncut and the shower and restrooms by our site were a mess. If we walked around our loop, the next shower and restroom was perfect. Also, bring a lot of fly spray because they were everywhere. This place could be awesome with just a little clean up around the sites and grass cutting. It was very relaxing sitting out at night under the stars. I have been camping here for years and I sure hope they get it cleaned up a little to get it back like it used to be. Complaints aside, I will still return to Flint Creek. - BryanK.
Mar 2017 - $12.00
Great wifi. We were able to stream Netflix, Amazon and DirecTv. Good over the air service from local stations. Great place to spend the winter.
A hidden gem, more like a community. We have spent the last several winters here. Located on thirty acres so plenty of room to walk pets. - home is where the sunsets
Nov 2016 - $25.00
Great little campground. Camped here for past two winters. Quiet, dog friendly, shopping either at Biloxi or Wiggins, near casinos. Everyone friendly, great people to be around, campfire, blueberries in season. Will be back next year. - bonnie love
Oct 2016 - $35.00
Great place to stay; went to crusin' on the coast!!!! Don't look for it on Google Maps it isn't right. Call and ask for directions, it's about five miles north of Wiggins, MS. - 1Traveling Man
Apr 2015 - $35.00
We were very pleased with the cleanliness of our site and the public facilities (bathrooms). The staff was very friendly. Although they have a laundry facility onsite, we didn't use it. But it was very clean. We will be returning for vacations. - Davidson Family
Jun 2016 - $1.00
The owner is an egotistical know it all who has no idea how to run a CG. When Checking in you get read a long list of rules and none enforced except driving in the correct direction. Quiet hours 10pm to 8am are a real joke. The owner was cutting grass at 7am and hit the hitch on the back of our class A with the riding mower. He did not stop and ignored it as no big deal because he had a doctors appointment, no serious damage was done but the hit was hard enough to knock stuff off the counter. We asked for a 50 amp site and was put next to a disaster,TV blasting all hours, yelling and slamming doors all night long, dog barks till they return. This is not the worst, red truck(does not move) is filled with garbage, stinks like rotting fish, along with garbage outside camper. If you look at the Facebook page , you see smiling happy people singing karaoke, it's true and some are really good, but they are not campers but his friends that come in for his Tuesday nite karaoke club. Most of the people here are here long term. He owns 4-5 old trailers he rents out. This is small campground with one road of traffic people doing business with a 2min stay??? Usually both bathrooms closed, but open on Tuesday during Karaoke. Pool usually green, maybe a day a week where it is clear, sites gravel back in, not much grass in between. This guy is a SLUMLORD! No Respect.
The only good thing about this place is the wifi. - Kesch
May 2015 - $25.00
We stayed several months. The park is very clean. The laundry room/restrooms are close to camp sights and very nice. We have 2 small children and my husband works away for periods of time, I felt really safe staying here. The owners make you feel welcome and at home. The pool is nice we all enjoyed it. They also have a fishing pond and ducks which we enjoyed feeding by the pond. Relaxing and fun, great family environment. Other campers here are friendly and nice as well and this park has affordable rates vs other parks on the coast. Overall we loved it. Had to leave due to my husband's job transfer, if ever back in the area this is definitely where we will stay. - samatha
Sep 2008 - $27.00
This is a small park on a very busy four lane hwy..Noise is like being next to the inter-state..Site somewhat level..Would be nice to have wifi..Would not camp here again... - escaper
Mar 2016 - $13.00
Typical if older National Forest that is very well maintained. Some traffic noise but can't beat the price with the senior's pass. The sites vary enormously from completely open surrounded by lawn to almost completely hidden in woods. They also vary by length and accessibility. - Judy Birchland
Jan 2016 - $13.00
Nice park located in the DeSoto National Forest. Sites are large and easy to back in to. Very secluded and quiet with many trees. The only draw back is the park is very dark. Located about 15 miles north of Gulfport on 49. The pads are asphalt and fairly level. We stayed 6 days and will stay here again. - Joe and Giny
Apr 2011 - $20.00
Beware of this campground. The local NF Law Enforcement Officer is a rogue, overzealous officer, and will issue you an expensive ticket for the least violation of petty campground rules without any warning. When we were there he came into the campground and went systematically through each occupied site looking for any violations. He commanded everyone at each site to open their coolers, and if they had any beer, he made them pour it out and then gave them a $125 ticket. According to the camp host there, he also regularly gives tickets without any warning for parking even slightly off the pavement or setting up a camping unit or tent outside the site pads. The worst part is his abusive and threatening behavior and extreme suspicion of the campers - looking into your vehicles and tents like he was looking for anything he could get you for. He ruined our entire weekend camping experience, as we felt violated and like we were in a police state after he left. And we wondered why there was hardly anyone at the campground on a beautiful spring weekend. The camp host confirmed later that they get few visitors there because of the officer's behavior, which has been going on for many years. This might seem like a rant, but the officer's behavior is very much a part of the camping experience at this site because he will almost certainly show up at some point during your visit. You need to be prepared if you go. It is a shame, because otherwise the facilities are very nice, well maintained, and clean due to the efforts of the campground host. I wish that I would have been able to read a review like this before camping there. It would have saved a ruined weekend. - bradinfairhope
Nov 2012 - $13.00
We stayed here for a month while visiting family in Diberville, so the location was nice. This campground has the potential to be a really nice campground but it just isn't kept very tidy and the long term residents don't take much pride in their camp area. We stayed on a very level site right next to the shower/pool house and that was a big mistake. There is a lot of traffic in the shower house and laundry area, which was too loud for our liking on the weekends. The lake does have a nice walking area around it; however, the goose droppings around it did not make it very pleasant for the kids to play around. We will probably will not stay here again. - 7ramblingkids
Jun 2011 - $17.00
The park is somewhat out-of-the-way if you are traveling on I-10, but it is roomy with paved, level sites and a view of a good sized lake. It is easy in and out of. There are several permanent residents, but units are modern and well maintained. The price shown is the Passport America rate. - daddyrabbit
Feb 2011 - $17.00
Stayed here 2 nights on our way out west. No shade here but nice level concrete sites. Not too far from I-10. - AntiqFreq
Jun 2007 - $8.00
We camped there in a motor home as Coast to Coast members. The park is several miles off the main road on fairly well maintained roads. We were the only campers the night we stayed. The sites were sand and dirt with pine trees with dirt road access. The management was very friendly. The park is just a little too remote for our taste. - Juandering
Feb 2007 - $8.00
We were a bit hesitant to visit this park as a result of a previous visitor's review. I made the decision to go ahead and visit the park because I felt that the previous review was just too "wild" to be accurate. My hunch was correct. There was a small ditch a few inches deep washed out on one side of the site access road, but nothing that would not be easily crossed by a motorhome or combination RV. Some daytime as well as some nighttime training exercises took place during our 3 day stay. Some artillery and machine gun noise was heard, not felt (this should be expected in close proximity to a military training base.) One also must realize that, as the name indicates, this is as much a hunting lodge as a resort campground. All in all, the people at the park were very helpful, courteous and friendly, the grounds were reasonably maintained, and we had a nice stay and will not hesitate to camp there again if travels take us back to that area. Internet access would have been nice, but it was made clear prior to making reservations that access was not available. - john3347
Jan 2007 - $8.00
A lot has changed since the previous reviewer posted. Half of the 30 sites are now only accessable through a very large erosion ditch going down one side of the access road. We wouldn't even attempt those sites in our motorhome. Although we went through 2 nights of tornado watches, the worst part of our stay there was Camp Shelby. Our final night we were awoke at 1:30am by 2 very large explosions from heavy artillery from the camp. Obviously way off course. We were again jolted out of bed at 4:30am by 2 more shells, this time much closer. Even though we had our jacks down, our coach rocked more than 12 inches by the concussion of the blasts. One more and we were ready to call 911 to have the shelling stopped (as we would have been pulling out!). We didn't get much sleep that night. A rustic beauty of a place but we will not be returning to this place! - Dan and Sarah
Mar 2016 - $30.00
Pull-through sites are large and big rig friendly. Complete hookups. Shopping nearby. No trees. Gravel sites with picnic tables. Very clean and friendly. Laundry on site. Close to interstate 10.
I highly recommend and would gladly stay again. - Spwa
