Tight turns and narrow roads make this inappropriate for big rigs. We may have stopped here before the park was open for the summer season. Skating rink was boarded up, and boat rentals and swimming were not available. No office direction. Just drive around and pick one. Some sites are blocked off and obviously not safe. Many sites are not very level. This is a CCC constructed park that has been sadly neglected. Could be rated 9 if maintenance was first priority. - Yeager
Oct 2011 - $13.00
This is one of the first four state parks built by the CCC in the thirty's. All sites had cement slabs, some are vertically challenged as they are steep. Lots and lots of trees around, however in the site we were in, I had a clear southern sky and was able to use my Veu Qube. The washroom showers are old but fairly clean. They have washers and dryers with them: kind of sorry looking but worked well. There is a brand new play ground and a beach with swimming allowed. It also has a skating rink for the kids. The fishing was good. If you want a quiet place to kick back and relax, this is the place for you. We will return. - Frank Henn
Apr 2011 - $18.00
All sites are concrete and most are level. One pull-thru. Heavily wooded, quiet, and 8 miles from town. Each site has a BBQ and picnic table. Little to do aside from enjoying nature. Fishing close by. I would stay here again. - geodrake
Jun 2016 - $20.00
RV park has a large number of permanent users. Some trailers are in good condition others look like old FEMA trailers. Pull-through pads are broken concrete. We found one that was not bad in the middle #20 that we could get jacks down on good concrete and keep the toad on it. Full hook up was good. It worked for us for an overnight stop.
My GPS did not take me to the location if you use the address on the web site. - GMS
Oct 2011 - $20.00
This park has absolutely no trees. All the sites are very unlevel and no grass. There are mostly people who live here year round and have lots and lots of junk outside their trailers. Trailers have air conditioners sticking out of them. They even have pet roosters (that management knows about.) I will not be staying here again. - rascal12

Nice facility but a really lackadaisical staff with few customer service skills. They will not take reservations, fine, but when we called just to see if a site might be available, she says, “I don’t have my book in front of me but it should be no problem.” When we got there it was, “Whoops, I forgot that a Holiday Rambler Rally had booked all of the sites for this week. Oh, you can drive around and see if someone might have left.” They had no idea who was there and who wasn't, and left it up to us to find out! We ended up in an uneven field with 20amp and water only. They also have no dump station. Make sure to ask them to check “the book” when you call. I did look it over, and it is a nice facility if you can get a site. - Adirondack Jack
Nov 2018 - $30.00
This park could be a gem but it is being over run with full timers in junky campers. I fully understand monthly and annual rentals pay the bills at an RV park but please set some stamdards. Too many old, dirty, rvs, with tarps and old refridgerators, weeds growing, ...you get the idea. OK for an over night stay but a few more years and I will keep driving. Sites are level and plenty long enough. Utilities are a the very rear so we only hooked up power and water for an overnight stay. Wifi is typical campground worthless but Verizon signal is decent. No problems with satellite in the pull through area. - Pjoe
Oct 2018 - $27.00
Everything that was said before on previous reviews, I do agree with . . . EXCEPT: There is absolutely no WIFI. We parked in a site next to the WIFI antenna and even with that and several calls to the office (with no call back), still no WIFI. I went to the office and she said they had "rebooted" the system, and would do it again . . . still no WIFI. They say they have "WIFI at the sites"; not true. For this and no response from the office, I give it a poor rating. - GA Folks
Sep 2018 - $27.00
Large gravel pads, level. very large speed bumps coming in (go very slowly) Park could use a little TLC. Tall grass in places and no trimming. Friendly staff, easy to find park with good signage. Park had primarily full timers and I assume they were there for the massive Nissan plant located nearby. We gave the park an 8 based on cost. - johnmack
May 2017 - $18.00
We stayed here one night after having RV repair work done in Madison, and picking the rig up late afternoon we couldn't go too far. The park is relatively close to the Natchez Trace Parkway, which we explored while the trailer was in the shop. It's not too big, and sits right on the river/reservoir. Sites are well-spaced with plenty of shade trees, but not so many that they get in your way. There is a pool, which we didn't use because we weren't there very long. The park was recommended by someone we met after riding our bikes on the shared Trace path that runs through the metro Jackson area (much safer for cyclists!), and it didn't disappoint. Beautiful location, we'd stay again if in the area. - Denise and Glenn
May 2017 - $20.00
Very nice campground, no permanent residents, however, several that appeared to be long-term folks. Nicely wooded location, pool, playground, riverfront facility with boat dock and a rather large fish cleaning station. There were many open, all concrete pad sites when we arrived and it's basically a self-service arrangement. Pick your site, and if the management doesn't come visit and collect the rent during your visit, you are asked to drop it in the drop box at the office. We found a site with SW DISH satellite access, and we had AT&T 4GLTE at about 6MB. We arrived early afternoon on Friday, by 1900hrs that evening the campground had filled up with weekenders and watercraft. However, other than a gigantic cloud of smoke from all the campfires, everyone was well-behaved and relatively quiet and respectful, even the kids, which seemed to be having a great time. We'd stay here again. - T_E_B
May 2015 - $20.00
Nice campground located along the upper Pearl River. This campground has a family feel to it. There are a few permanent campers here, but not enough to ruin your stay. This campground has a clean pool and a playground. I will be staying here again. - kayakinmom
Sep 2009 - $16.00
Nice campground located on the Pearl River north of Jackson. Not all sites have sewer, but most have 30/50 amp service and water and lots and lots of shade. Bath houses are clean but not elaborate and there is even a small laundry on site. There are concrete picnic tables at the 24 sites with concrete pads. 21 additional sites seem to be seasonal and there are 19 others with gravel. The concrete pads are relatively level, but some of the gravel ones will require more side to side leveling as well as front to back. The swimming pool is small but nice. Nearby boat ramp for the river if you are a boater. No cable TV but you can pick up several local channels with your rooftop antenna. Satellite reception may be a problem in some sites due to the tree cover. Long way to a grocery store so be sure to stock up before arriving. We would stay here again. - TX Camper
