We stayed here 2 nights while visiting Vicksburg. Easy to find and office personnel were pleasant. Sites are not level and a little short. Some vehicles sticking out in the road which made maneuvering a little difficult. All sites are pull-through but corners are a little tight.

Water pressure & electrical voltage were excellent. Good Verizon 4G signal. Several over the air TV stations, which was good, because the park cable would not work with our TV. Office personnel had no clue and said possibly our TV was too old, although it is only 2 years old.

Some road noise from adjacent highways, but overall the park was quiet, especially at night.

We did not go to the casino but a shuttle is available. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Vicksburg Battlefield is very interesting. Don't bother with the Railroad Depot Museum, it is mainly a bunch of model trains, ships, and airplanes. We went to the old courthouse museum but backed out as soon as we entered due to the extremely strong odor of mold, to which I am highly allergic. For a great view of the river and bridges, go to the Mississippi Welcome Center just a few hundred yards west on US 61.

Clean and well maintained park associated with a casino. It was quiet and all sites are pull through. We had good Verizon and Dish Network service here. This is a good place to stay when you explore the Vicksburg battlefield. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to buy the car CD for the battlefield.

Nice park right in town. Sites are a little narrow and close together. Has free cable. Pads are concrete. Most of the sites are not very level. Saw one motorhome that had his rear tires about 2 feet off the ground to get it level. Others are sloping side to side. Hookups are at the back of the site. Verizon service was 4 bars. Water pressure was good. Electric service was good. Roads in the park are ok. Big grass fields to walk the dogs. Two washers and two driers in the laundry room. Free shuttle to Ameristar Casino. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.

On a more level site the rating would be higher. Not many level sites available. Roads are narrow and sites very short. Parking on the grass seems to be the only alternative to parking in a paved lot. Lots of area to walk the pups. This was the best rated campground in the area and it was livable. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

War memorials, cemeteries, etc.

This was our base of operations for our visit to the Vicksburg National Military Park.

The $25.00 a night rate was for seven days, giving you one night free. The weekly rate is cheaper than the Good Sam's discount for seven days.

I was told when we checked in that the Wi-Fi was "iffy" (that seems to be a common word used concerning RV park Wi-Fi). However, I found it to be reliable and fast. The cable system provided a good range of channels with clear picture.

The park was part of the Ameristar Casino located across the road. And because of that, there is a free shuttle that will come to your site, pick you up and drive you to the casino. When you are done, they will drop you off at your site. (Although we aren't gamblers and did not partake of the service, it's a nice touch),

Casino security also patrols the park at least once an hour.

There are trash cans located throughout the park and are emptied daily. Lawn crews are out daily keeping the park looking nice.

If you on I-20 going through Vicksburg, Mississippi and need a place to stay, whether for a few days or just overnight, I highly recommend this park. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

This is near the Vicksburg National Military Park. If you are a history buff, this is a place to see. The battle lines were laid out by veterans (both Union and Confederate) that participated in the battle for Vicksburg. There are quite a number of historic buildings downtown.

This is the second time we have stayed here. It is a big parking lot with all pull-thrus (plenty long) and full hook-ups. Our only complaint is the sites not level. Some are better than others, but both times were pretty unlevel. There is a big parking lot where you can hookup the car/truck. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.

Our open site had a concrete pad and picnic table. Across street from casino. Has on demand shuttle service to & from casino. Wifi was good enough to stream Netflix. We would stay here again. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Vicksburg military park was great. Private guide was $40 for 2 hours

A very nice Casino RV Park. Sites were clean, spacious and level. Concrete RV pad and picnic area. Well kept green grass. Convenient to all attractions.

Would stay there again. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Vicksburg National Military Park is a must see.

This is our second time to stay at this park. It has very easy access from I-20, Washington Exit. Pull-through spaces that accommodate both the rig and tow. Great grassy area surrounds the campground, perfect for dog walking and kept pretty clean. It is near I-20 but we did not hear any road noise. I walked the dog at 5:30 (thank you Freckles, I didn't really need sleep), and security was driving through.
This is affiliated with the Casino across the street and a shuttle is available all the time, just a phone call away. We took it over to have dinner. Food very nice, typical smokey smelling gambling area, but restaurants were clean and nice.
In the park, the spaces are concrete and close together, but it is easy to park and easy to get out of. Well maintained, friendly, great price with Good Sam's, we will definitely return. We were in a 45' motor home. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Casino across the street, easy to reach by shuttle.
Good food, both buffet and steakhouse.
Waffle House across the bridge, a mile or less away, west side.
Vicksburg Battlefield Park is a must-see. Very well done, drive through, get app for info.

We planned to stay overnight but ended up staying an additional night to catch up on some rest. Located only 4 blocks from I-20, past the casino and hotel. The park is in a basin so there's a steep downhill road and sharp right turn to get to the office. All sites are pull-thru with cement pads. Very level. Hookups are way in the back, particularly the sewer which is at the back end of the pad. We ended up using 25' of sewer hose stretched out to connect. Pad was a little too narrow for our motorhome. Water pressure was awesome. Wifi was weak. No playground, no off leash dog park but there's plenty of grassy area in the perimeter to walk the dogs and it's kept fairly clean. There's a small trash bin every 2-3 sites. Security drives thru 24/7. Park is really lit up at night, street lamps everywhere, feels almost like daytime. This is a well-maintained park. We saw them trimming trees and removing dead branches. You can get to the casino by calling for a shuttle and they pick up/drop off at your site. Office staff was helpful, personable. We would certainly return. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is easy to access from I-20 and the staff is helpful. WiFi does not work away from the office however. Large area to walk a dog but there are no bag dispensers so watch your step. Concrete pad but most were cracked and some rvs had trouble getting level front to back. Our main objection was the hassle of trying to make a reservation. When you call, you get the corporate office for the casino and have to be transferred several times to get to the rv park. We were hung up on several times before we finally got through. Otherwise, this is an acceptable park and we would stop here again. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Vicksburg has a number of great eating places as well as old antebellum houses to see as well as the battlefield.

I knew better than to stop here, but wanted to check it out anyway. Here are my notes from our 16 hours at this park:

- The sites are very unlevel. If there were level spaces, I couldn't locate them. Most everyone was jacked way up in the back as the park is built on the side of a hill.

- The concrete pads were very narrow. Other than the concrete, the park is a big mud pit. We ran off in the mud pulling both in and out.

- We disconnected at the office. There were so many cars parked in the streets, I don't think I could have "pulled thru" the pull-thru.

- Of the 67 sites, I would guess 50 of them were occupied by long-term tenants. The 2 men living in the tiny bumper pull camper next to us left for work at 4:30AM.

- There is a train track behind the park, which makes for regular wake up calls all through the night.

- No receipt was provided, but I was told I received a Good Sam discount. It appears that everyone pays a slightly different price though.

- I assumed many sites would be open on a Monday night, but the park was sold out, probably because of the high number of long-term tenants. We got one of the last sites at 5pm.

- We would have made a reservation, but it seems impossible to speak with the park. When you call the park number, you get a foreigner in a call center.

- This place reminds me more of a 'trailer park' than a campground or RV park. I certainly wouldn't let my kids roam around.

- On the plus side, all utilities did work. This park just isn't the type of place we are accustomed to staying. We will attempt to avoid this place in the future if possible. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.

In space 13, at eastern side of park, you get alot of train noise several times a night. The lady who works in the office is super nice. Sites are not cramped or too spacious. We can park our 30 foot here and stay hooked up to the one ton truck - so length is ok. Good water pressure. Local channels gives you about 40 choices - good reception. ATT signal is strong here for internet/phone. If you want to go to Casinos, this is handy as casino bus comes through regularly. Good value for the money. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

A good park for our overnight stay. We were happy to find it so easy to get to off the interstate. We had a site on the back row and used all the room we had to get our 40' 5er onto the pad and still had to get on the grass a little bit to get pulled in & out. It was nice and clean and there was some space between units. The park sits down in a basin of sorts with the train below you so you do hear it go through. We felt safe there and the office staff were very pleasant. We enjoyed spending the day in Vicksburg and the convenient location of this park was a plus. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We toured the National Battlefield, the historic home tour of downtown (be careful to not wander off the mapped route) and the Ameristar Casino.
