A very nice campground, with our tow the spot was a bit short but acceptable. Front desk personnel are outstanding and were so friendly, helpful and kind!!!! Sites are nice and level, cement pads. My only reason for not giving it a 10 is the internet was average, slow at times, that would be my only "yeah but", would stay again for sure. We stayed here 2 nights - wanted to visit the battlefield and see the town. We would stay here again but since we're not gamblers, it would be an only for an overnighter. The park is easy to get in and out of but I-20 from Jackson is a bumpy ride. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

I stayed here while working in Edwards and Bolton. Although I didn't want to commute this far, choices for campgrounds closer weren't that great. Ameristar was fine. There was a shuttle that came through a few times an hour to bring you to the casino. It was convenient, but if you're in good physical shape, the casino was well within walking distance. Restrooms were clean. Laundry was $2.00 per load and $2.00 per dry cycle. Cable was good. The park was clean and safe. Not many trees for shade. My only gripe is I was parked right in front of the office (site 25) and the shuttle turned around directly behind my rig, causing the headlights to shine in my back window. I would stay here again, but request a site further away from the main drive. I stayed here in a Class B conversion Van, which is not listed as an option. Good place to stay to do the battlefield and local museums. Well maintained. Very helpful office manager. Laundry was too small for us (only two washers and dryers) but there's a laundromat a few miles away. Shuttles run to and from the casino across the street. Would definitely stay again when in the area. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The site we had was level but we could see that some others might have problems. There was a picnic table with each site and the hook-ups were easy. There is cable at each site. It was close to everything we wanted to see in Vicksburg and we stayed a week. There is a shuttle to the casino. Be sure to stop at the Rte 20 Visitor Center to see the great view of the river and the bridges across the Mississippi. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.

Paved streets and pads. Pads are a little short and narrow. Those on north end are not level. Lots of additional parking nearby, but many guests park their toads in the road! Trash cans are limited. Got to watch for the access (on north side of the Shell station). Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lots of places to walk the dogs, but watch out for washed out areas in the dark. No fenced dog run (despite plenty of room for one). Great place to stay if passing through on I-20. Access to interstate is good and noise is limited. We stopped here for a couple nights, on our way south. Cement pads, most of them level. Full hook ups, choice of 30 or 50 amp. All sites are pull-through with a picnic table and a decent amount of space between sites. They do have showers available, stalls are a little small. But, they are clean. We were welcomed in the office. Very helpful and friendly. Only about 5 minutes away from the National Military Park and historic downtown. Free 24 hour shuttle to/from your site to the casino, if you are interested. Did not eat at the casino, played a few slots, came out ahead. If you go over for gaming, make sure to go downstairs as well. More machines there. Also, as long as you are actively gaming, alcohol drinks are complimentary. Bummer, I didn't realize it until it was time to leave. Our rig is 40' long. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Close to I-20 and the Mississippi River; free transportation to the Casino for gambling and eats; friendly staff, low price for a concrete pad with 30 amp (all 50 amp were already taken). We stay here everytime we are through here in the mid to late afternoon and have never been disappointed. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Clean, conveniently located park with nice grassy sites. Walk across the street for a nice view of the river. Complimentary shuttle to the casino. 10 minute drive to the battlefield, 5 minutes to downtown or Wal-Mart. It's not a resort campground, it's a place to stay while visiting the rest of Vicksburg. At night you'll hear the occasional train or barge tow, but they're not obtrusive. Good staff. We'd stay here again. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Travel Trailer.Undo

Ameristar RV park is an easy in easy out campground ( all pull-throughs ) about 1/8th of a mile from the same name casino. The campground has a small pool, good Wi-Fi, dog walk areas, a few pass key baths/showers, a picnic table at each site. The sites are cement, only somewhat level (some people had difficulty leveling) with a very few 50 amp connections – the majority being 30 amp. Make your reservation early if you must have a 50 amp. There is an on call shuttle to/from the casino. We ate at Bella’s restaurant in the Ameristar Casino and the prices were reasonable and the food good. We used our two night stay to visit the Vicksburg National Military Park and see the battle sites, the cemetery, the ironclad USS Cairo and see where this significant Civil War event took place. We didn’t see everything even with 5 hours of sightseeing and roaming the grounds. While not fancy, we would recommend this campground for a one or two night stopover. With all its' flaws (short, slanted, narrow cement pads; inadequate bathrooms and laundry; etc.), this remains our prefered Vicksburg RV park. We finally found a park with cable that has not been ruined by the new system of requiring that a box be hooked up to your TV. They have 70 channel cable you can hook up to the old fashioned way and a 802.11 network that has always been reliable. As usual, the staff was terrific and the pool refreshing on a warm day. For those of you who are bothered seeing a park customer base that is not like you, there was one customer who may make you glad you have a piece under your pillow. The fact that he was in his 70s, attached to an oxygen tank by tubing, and needed a walker to get around probably doesn't make him any less a threat in your mind. This is a lovely city, and a nice clean RV park that is quiet and in a nice setting with great amenities, super internet, very good access. We would definitely return! We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

We attempted to stay here for a couple of nights. The park is easy to get to & from Interstate 20 unless you’re coming off of US-61 N. There isn’t much distance between the on ramp from US-61 N to the off ramp for Exit 1A and you have to cross two active lanes of high speed traffic (good luck) to reach the off ramp. The entrance to the park requires a sharp 90 degree turn off the main road onto a small access road. As you approach the park, the road has a downhill slope into the park that requires a tight right turn to get to the registration office. The interior roads are asphalt. The roads were sufficient to get around the park. The site parking pads are concrete with a small concrete patio for an outside table. The pull through sites were not long enough for 40’ RV with the toad attached. The concrete parking pads were very narrow – just wide enough for our coach but no room to step onto concrete upon exiting the coach. Only a few of the sites are even close to being level & flat. The sites at the lowest point in the park had standing water just off the concrete where you would have to step to get out of your coach. Not much privacy between the sites. They have full hook ups – water, electricity (50 AMP), & a sewer connection but all of the utility connections are located at the rear end of the sites. At check in, the front office staff said they only had 30 AMP sites available. We said we needed 50 AMP. So the clerk assigned us a space with 50 AMP. Due to the pitch (slope) of the sites we could never get level as we only have an automatic air adjustable leveling system so we left. Didn’t seem to be any long term residents. Wouldn’t recommend going into this park with anything long. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Good for an overnight stay, but not much more. The sites are narrow and not very long. Also, they're not level! Water pressure was good, the TV cable was iffy at best, wifi was ok. Check in was easy. On our way back home, we'll stay here again for a night. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Very friendly and helpful office staff. We stopped here for the night on our way to Florida from Texas. The RV park itself is just a large open field with several rows of RV sites. Nothing fancy, but the real attraction here is the Casino a block away. There is also a shuttle that will pick you up and drop you at the front door of the Casino. This really isn't a destination RV park, but would definitely stay here again while passing through. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Travel Trailer.Undo
