A very quiet park during the week. Heard it is quite busy on the weekends. All sites are concrete and generally level. Satellite reception is best in sites up to 26 as these are in a meadow with few trees. Others are in heavy tees which may not be bad in summer for the shade. Be aware, all sites are power only. There is water available but it's best to have a full fresh water tank and empty waste tanks. There is a dump station by the restrooms, but it can be busy in the early morning. Would definitely stay here again. - 2sunkid

This is our go-to park for visiting St. Louis. It is about 30 minutes into the city, but we still prefer staying in the peace and quiet of this park, as well as the price. First, the best way to access the park is not the way our GPS or Google Maps directed. If arriving on Interstate 64, take the Chesterfield Airport Rd exit and continue until you reach Long, then Wild Horse Creek, 109, then Babler Park Drive. If arriving on Interstate 44, exit on Highway 109. It is a good idea to make reservations ahead, especially on weekends. The sites are well spaced but little vegetation for visual separation. The campground is heavily treed, so only a few sites will give satellite, even with a portable dish. We had a very strong Verizon 4g signal. The camp hosts were efficient and nice. The campground is nice and dark and quiet and doesn't seem to get a party crowd. - TheJim

Excellent state park. Unlike other states, Missouri doesn't tack on an additional daily entrance fee to the cost of the campsite. That makes this park an even better value. Sites are well-spaced with lots of green grass. Campground is quiet, even though it was full when we were there. Cell service (AT&T), MiFi (Verizon) and satellite TV (Dish) all worked very well. It's easy to get to St. Louis and the Missouri wine country from this campground. - Bobbi1948
