We stopped for the night and found a broken leaf spring on the trailer. Ended up staying 6 nights waiting for parts and repair. CG accommodated our needs and folks were very helpful getting our repairs done. they suggest a mobile tech who did a good job at a reasonable price. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Big Red Barn RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Easy access to freeway and to Joplin and Carthage. Very clean campground and very clean showers and restroom. Site was level but the sites are very narrow so RVs are very close to each other so there is very little privacy. Sites are a combination of grass and rock and on the morning I was preparing the RV for departure a guy on a riding lawn mower began to mow the RV site immediately beside my site. That was very dangerous as the mower can launch rocks if they are hit just right . . I saw this happen to a family member years ago . . When the rock hit the human flesh at great speed it required an er visit and several stitches to close the wound. If this is a normal practice it should be stopped as it is a serious safety concern. We camped at Big Red Barn RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was our 8th stay at this park in the past 12-years. We keep coming back because we really like it and the wife feels very safe here. Most of the sites are pull-thru's and long enough for big rigs (we are 39' plus our toad). 30/50 amp, water, sewer and cable at each site and there is a clear view of the sky from virtually all sites for satellite.

The staff is extremely friendly and caring and will do just about anything it takes to make you comfortable. They offer free coffee and mini-muffins at the office in the morning.

The grounds are clean and quiet. We camped at Big Red Barn RV Park in a Motorhome.

Actually this park is just off I-49 off the Fir Street exit. Rough paved roads with gravel sites. We had problem with a 50amp breaker at the pedestal and they replaced the breaker rather quickly and we had no furher problems.
Staff was super friendly and had great sense of humor which made check in nice. Weekends they will cook hot dogs and burgers for you for a reasonable price. Park was pretty empty with a lot of folks just spending the night. The park has a rustic feel. We were far enough away from I-49 not to hear the traffic noise. Walmart and restaurants are just 2 miles away. We camped at Big Red Barn RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed for ten nights, some highway noise however no trains or planes. We don't use amenities so this was perfect for us. The staff are all friendly, the office has ice, ice cream and jarred condiments. The condiments we bought were really good. The sites are nice and level with a concrete patio and picnic table. There is grass for walking the dog. We camped at Big Red Barn RV Park in a Motorhome.

Easy access to and in the park with our 40'+ RV. Pros: Level gravel sites, full hookups, and close to the highway but quiet at night. Cons: No pool, and as a prior reviewer posted, their pricing is a bit of a racket: it's not at all worth their standard $40 per night rate but they "find" a discount for everyone. We would not hesitate to stay here again but would probably try the other choice nearby if in the area again. We camped at Big Red Barn RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Red Oaks II is about 10 minutes away and one of the most unique attractions we have ever seen. The artist-owner is moving buildings from his childhood home to the site and it's a very unique creation.

Very nice rural park on I-44. Very convenient to the interstate. The sites were spacious and the park was surrounded by fields. The campground hosts served hot dogs and hamburger dinners for $5 each. Very convenient. We received a 30% military discount. Very nice. We only stayed one night, but I would stay longer on a trip to rest and relax. We camped at Big Red Barn RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is located close to I-49 and has easy access to and from the interstate. The sites are moderately spaced and the hosts are friendly. They sell a variety of baked goods at the store and have several social events throughout the week. The WiFi worked well. We camped at Big Red Barn RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very quiet park. It was a stopover on our way to Kansas City, Mo. There is no pool. They do have cable but it wouldn't work in our motorhome & nobody could figure out why but the hostess tried very hard to find out why it wouldn't work. We were able to get satellite signal & over the air stations. They have free WiFi & it worked well. I would stay here again. We camped at Big Red Barn RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Used the Good Sam Trip Planner and the GPS directions were wrong. Had to call the park and get address. Was told Good Sam (Rand McNally) by the park staff that the GPS was wrong. Once put in address given over phone, GPS directions took us right to the park.

Quiet, lovely campground. The owner kind and so helpful. We have always stayed here when in the area and it is so good to know that the BIG RED BARN is here. The roads and sites are gravel. Sites easy to get into and out again. Work was being done on electric and water while we were there so the grounds were a little messy. This was 5/18 2015. This is a very quaint, cute park with very nice management. Sites are park-like and roomy and level. Well maintained with lots of trees and grass. I found it to be very peaceful. They have propane and a cute little office/shop that is being renovated and looks like it will be very nice when finished. I would definitely stay there again if traveling that way.
