We used this for an overnight stop and it was great for that purpose. For short stays they assign you to a separate non-shaded gravel section with easy, level pull throughs and full hook ups. For longer stays they have a large really nice area of campsites that are beautifully shaded and landscaped. Friendly staff. Great Verizon signal and wi-fi. Nice area to walk dogs. Adjacent to RV dealership, which is next to the highway and blocks any noise to the campground. Totally quiet night for us. We'd stay there again for sure. It's between Carthage and Joplin, not sure how far away it would be from supermarkets or Walmart. No swimming pool and I don't recall seeing a playground. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed two nights in June on our way North. Site was in the lower portion. Appears most "pass through" campers are put in the lower section. No trees in lower section but good foliage surrounding the park. A huge abundance of grassy areas for dog walk. Decent Wifi but on Tues/Wed nights there was little competition for bandwidth. I would definitely stay again if passing that way. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Cable was good but we also had no trouble with Satellite in lower section. Upper section would have challenges with Satellite in some sites.

Not a lot of places to eat around the campground. However Joplin is about 20 min away. Billy Sims BBQ is pretty good.

Yearly we drive from Arkansas to Iowa and back and this is our "stop over" spot. We have only ever spent one night at a time here. Campground is nice. The roads are good, the sites are good, hookups worked well. While it won't keep me from staying here, I do wish it was cheaper. :) I don't think the site is over-priced, we just personally don't use all of the amenities or hookups because we're only here for less than a day. Shorter-stay folks are put in the north part of the campground which is, I think, all pull-thru sites and there are no trees in this area. If you're staying more long-term I think you can get one of the nicer sites that's closer to the office and is tree-covered - and you don't have people pulling in and out around you all the time. Nice! Sites are gravel with a concrete slap/patio. Their WiFi worked well when we used it; I was impressed b/c that's usually not the case with campgrounds. The folks who answer the phones are always so nice, and are very welcoming when you arrive to the campground. We appreciate them watching for us and checking us in even after their normal office hours. Great place to be if you lose a vent cap or your water pump goes out because the dealership is a brief walk away. So you don't have to go far to solve a problem! Campground is right off the interstate so there is road noise, but it's so convenient. Seems like it's in the middle of nowhere, but I think 15 min or so down the highway you can find what you need in Joplin. AT&T cell service worked fine here. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped here for one night and we're so impressed we will definitely return for a longer stay to visit the area. We arrived just as they were closing for the evening and we're immediately escorted to our site. The interior roads are asphalt and well maintained. They sites are gravel but level with well cared for hookups. The host provided us with a 2 page handout that explains everything from the campground cable stations and wifi to the surrounding Carthage area. You can tell from the first meeting with the host and reading the handout that they understand how to run a RV park. Most of the site's are pull through and well shaded. If you plan to use a satellite be sure to request a site that has a line of site too meet your requirements. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Park is neat as a pin. We stay in the bottom/north section which is great for big rigs and satellite use. Roads are paved and sites are crushed stone. Wi-Fi is free and very good. It is near Interstate 49 but it is very quiet. It does have a storm shelter and the hosts are well trained in getting people into it when the need arises. All in all a great park. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Get your kicks on Rte 66, both east/north and west/south. A tour of the Coleman Theater in Miami OK is a great destination on Rte 66. Rumor has it, a restaurant on the square in Carthage has a nice Sunday brunch buffet.

Very nice park. We stay here with our camping club every year. It helps there is a dealer right next door. Lots of fun to look through all of the new rigs. Park is well designed and wi-fi is very strong regardless where you are in the park. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We called ahead to make a one night reservation. Courteous and helpful on the phone. Drove right to our site that evening after picking up simple paperwork. Looked like a nicely planned park and very well kept. Easy interstate access. Road noise was surprisingly minimal. Nice to know that an RV sales and service was very near by if needed. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A first- class big rig operation and always a pleasure to stay here. They will point out points of interest in the area, like Red Oak II, an incredible tourist attraction. Very spacious big rig pull throughs, easy access off the freeway. Spaces to the north are more open and easier for satellite reception. We were able to pull into the space with our tow, all the hookups lined up, then we left without having to disconnect. Can't go wrong with Mike and his staff! Historical points in Carthage, Red Oak II where an artist has brought in houses from many areas and placed them along a drive you take. Like going back in time. An astonishing, and little known tourist attraction that will leave you talking.

We were greeted warmly by the staff and felt very welcome, and were then escorted to our site. They arranged for our friends (Three RV's) who were arriving the next day, to all remain in Sites close together. This RV Resort is kept in immaculate condition with constant attention to details. A Nice, clean, laundry facility is in the same building as the registration office.
The sites were roomy, about 70' in length
It should be noted that the free cable TV, and Wi-Fi are both excellent. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable.
There is an RV Sales and maintenance facility nest door.
It is hard to find any negative to mention about this RV Resort. I would return here any time we are in this area. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed 4 nights to visit some sites in the area.

The park is close to I-49/US-71 (W 52nd St/Cedar Lane) but there is very little noise from the Interstate.

The park was well cared for and landscaped.

The interior roads are paved. The site parking pads are a mixture of concrete or gravel. The roads were narrow considering some were for 2-way traffic. The pull through sites were long enough for coaches and their toads. The sites were generally level. There is not much privacy between the sites as the sites are close to each other. They have full hook ups - water, electricity (50 AMP), & sewer. The utility connections were towards the middle of the sites. Some sites have an outside table & grill.

There are basically two different types of camp areas. One has an extensive tree canopy which almost prevents any type of satellite reception depending on site assignment and your dish configuration. The other has some sites with open access to the sky for satellite reception. There was an extensive choice of cable channels. Didn't try to get any broadcast channels.

The park provided WiFi was good. Our NET10 phone reception was acceptable.

No designated fenced pet area but there was sufficient area to walk dogs along the park roads. There were several pet waste collection stations consisting of bag dispensers and cans to dispose of waste around the park.

For being in a hazardous/severe weather area, didn't see an underground storm shelter or any structure identified as a severe weather shelter but the park had a plan to notify the residents and evacuate them to the park's storm shelter in case of severe weather.

Would stay here again if returning to visit the area. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Motorhome.

This has always been one of our favorite places to stop. Generally, it is still a great place to stop. However, this time the cable tv reception was poor, especially for the major networks. We got better reception on the antenna. Also, our site (#15) could use gravel as it was a bit muddy due to recent rains. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Motorhome.

There are nice level sites and most have shade. Most are pull through. There are a few sites with area workers. The only problem is one of them drove a honey wagon and the smell was not sweet. This is our third year at this park with our RV club. We will be back for the next 2 years. We had two nights of severe wind warnings. They were very good to get everyone up and provide a safer place to stay till the winds placed. The roads are paved and the sites are gravel. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Friendly staff. Escorted to our site. We did not need help but he seemed willing to help if needed. They seem particular, which is probably why the campground is in such good shape.

About ¾ of the campground is sloped and the sites are terraced. They are mostly long pull-through sites, but many of them are narrow so that you would not have enough room to set up chairs, etc. under your awning. Less than half of these sites had a concrete patio. In this area there were large, mature trees providing shade.

The remaining ¼ of the campground, was a lower, flat area with no trees and flat sites. All of these sites were large and had cement patios.

Great Wi-Fi . Several boosters in campground. No extra charge.

We could not hear hardly any at all despite proximity to freeway.

Laundry room has 2 washers and 4 dryers with a long folding table.

Rules of note: No dog pens at sites. No clotheslines. You are free to wash your rig.

Nice for overnight and would be good for longer term if there was a reason to be in this area.

There were several longer term residents as evidenced by wooden stairs/decks, extra large propane bottles, etc. All were well kept. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is our 2nd time at Coachlight, we have family in Carthage and Joplin and the location is convenient, near I-44 & I-49, no road noise. Park is easy to enter & exit. Hook ups all work well, we ran 3 ACs on the 50 amp. Sites a re gravel, level, spacious enough for 4 slides and tow. We were in lower section, upper was full. Lower had no shade trees and Directv worked well. Upper section has beautiful shade trees and large area (not fenced) for pets. 3 wifi stations in park, so signal was great. Coachlight did repair work on our coach on last visit and we were very happy with work and how accommodating there were. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Motorhome.

Great park hidden behind a RV dealership in a shaded finely manicured campground. Long & wide gravel sites with paved interior roads. Good Wi-Fi. Part of the park is unshaded, if satellite access is needed. Very friendly staff that were helpful and escorted us to our site. The best dog walk area I've ever seen in a campground. Only a mile or so off I-44 for easy off and on. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Motorhome.
