Pros: Nice landscaping and large area for dog to run free, although must be well trained dog as it is not fenced. Cons: Overpriced and they nickel and dime you to death. $2 to use cc, $1 for parking extra car. However, we are a 5th wheel with truck plus small car. Were charged $1 for extra car and told we had to park in lot and not on site even though there was more than enough room as these are double back/back sites that they use as one. MHs all around us allowed to park car on site. We stayed hooked for the night so how were we any different? MH next to us had 2 cars on site all night. Sites very close together. Just not worth the price. We will skip this place next time we are in the area. We camped at Cottonwoods RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park adjacent to fairgrounds and easy on off from 63. Some very long pull thrus and then the rest of the sites are pull thru but shorter. Nice grass in between, but not as much space between sites as I like. We had an empty site in front of is so it was OK. No campfires allowed. Our price was for 50 amp which was extra $. Trees are nice for shade - but you need to be careful when turning in/out of site. We camped at Cottonwoods RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We hiked part of the nearby Katy trail and also appreciated a great foodie grocery store...Lucky's Market. If your hungry you can get a pizza slice & a pint for $5 and sit on their nice covered patio. They have a liquor store adjacent with a great beer / wine selection and we bought some awesome fresh trout for dinner.

The above nightly rate reflects the prorated weekly rate.

This RV park is spotless, well kept with clean bathrooms. There are large garbage pails throughout the campground. Most sites have a mature tree for some shade (depending on the time of day) with a concrete pad and picnic table. There are 4 rows of sites, the back row, back-ins, seem to be mostly long term. The other 3 rows are all pull-thru. The middle two rows are for mid-range trailers/motor homes while the front pull through row is extra long for large trailers/motor homes. What others have written, regarding the sites being close together are true, though it would not be a deal breaker for us. If the sites were another 4 feet wider I would give this campground solid 10's. We have been in this campground for two weeks now, staying in Columbia surrounding our grandchild's birth. The campground is quiet and everyone seems friendly and respectful of one another. The manager and his staff are very nice and helpful. My husband and I have noticed them riding (on golf cart) around the campground multiple times per day.

The next time we come out here to Columbia, we would not hesitate staying here again.

BTW....this place is booked solid if you are staying here during an event, ie...Mizzou football game or event at the park, next door. We camped at Cottonwoods RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

When you check in you will be charged an extra (one time fee of ) $2's if you pay by credit card.

We stayed here for 2 nights to visit friends in the area. Nice easy pull through sites up front with patios, tables and some shade. Office staff helpful and pleasant. Sites are level and park is clean. Easy access to nearby restaurants and shopping. We stayed here in a motorhome and would definitely stay again if in the area. Would suggest making a reservation as park fills up! We camped at Cottonwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.

We broke down in Columbia earlier that day. Spent most of out time at Inland Truck Service and parts. We called the office about 6 pm, indicating we would stay there if our rig was repaired that evening. They indicated the office would close at 8 pm, if we came in after that, they would have a site for us reserved. If we didn't make it, all was well. We told them we would pay cash in the morning, if we got there. They held the spot for us. We paid in the morning. I was hesitant about pulling in after dark due to the warnings of close quarters and turns. We had no problem navigating the property after dusk. Did make me wish I had a spot light to see site numbers...lol. Next trip I will pack one! We camped at Cottonwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park is nice, clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Cash or check only. We just needed an overnight spot and the pull thru we got was nice and long. We camped in a 40' motorhome with a pick up truck in tow. I'd rate this campground much higher, but for the tight turns required to get to your site. Just staying overnight we didn't want to disconnect. Plus the "rock" decorations that these parks insist on having are just accidents waiting to happen. We'd stay again, but would probably disconnect. We camped at Cottonwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed one night heading east. We arrived in the evening and left first thing in the morning, so I cannot comment on cable, restrooms, etc. However, this is a good over night park, but not a destination park. The spots are closer together, but we have a 36ft rv and tow a vehicle and our site was long enough where we didn't have to unhook the car. We camped at Cottonwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.

The staff is helpful and friendly. Cash is expected; if you run a card a surcharge is added. The roads were paved and the sites also. This park is neat and attractive. The sites are close, but no problem for big rigs. All sites are pull-through. I definitely would stay there again. We camped at Cottonwoods RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for two nights while visiting relatives in Columbia. The location was convenient from both I-70 and US-63. The restrooms, showers, and laundry room were very clean. Like many commercial campgrounds the sites are close together. Each site has a young tree. The position of these trees can make maneuvering into and out of a site a challenge. Such was the case when we tried to pull in to our first site (#67.) I think we could have backed in from the other end but since there were plenty of empty sites, after two attempts we asked if we could change sites. The staff was very friendly and helpful in changing our site. Our second site was number 40. This site was on the opposite side of the drive so the tree was toward the end of the site. We wouldn’t have had any trouble with this site except that there was a small SUV parked across the drive from our site, which prevented us from making the wide turn we required to get in the site. Fortunately our neighbor was in and he was able to move his SUV. After parking our 39’ RV, there was just enough room to park our truck parallel to the drive. Our site had a small bush that was actually a little too close to our rig. One of our slide outs was actually up against it. The sites are gravel but very level. Each site has a picnic table on a concrete pad. Between visiting relatives and the rains, we really weren’t able to explore the campgrounds but the playground looked nice. Just a note: This campground fills up on Mizzou football weekends. We left on the Friday before a game and we were told it was sold out for the weekend. As we were leaving we once again had to ask a neighbor to move a car so we could manage the turn. Due to the closeness of the sites and the position of the trees I would call this campground “big rig tolerant.” It would have been more friendly if the roads were wider and the trees were positioned differently. The rate listed reflects a Good Sam discount plus $2 surcharge for using a credit card. I believe the park also gives the same discount to AAA members. We camped at Cottonwoods RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate reflects a weekly stay. Watch out for the atrocious speed bumps. We were part of a group of four rigs and were given four sites together which we appreciated. The staff was very helpful with this request. But our sites were very close together and once the slides were out, we struggled to find room for the eight of us to meet. We had to call and get a tree trimmed in order to get a slide out. We put five inches of boards underneath the front tires to have a chance at getting level. The roads are narrow but the sites were at an angle so that helped. The sites in the front row cost a little more but you will have a much better experience. The water pressure was not good; we used the pump a lot. Sprint and Verizon worked just fine. Garbage containers were handy and picked up promptly. Overall it was OK for what we needed but if we ever go back, I would ask for a front row site. We camped at Cottonwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park for access to Columbia. Next to fairgrounds, but nothing was going on there either time we stayed. This is our second stay at this park. The first time was for several days so we could be with my brother's wife while he had bypass surgery. The second was an overnight stay on the way west. The park is neat, convenient, the office ladies were nice, the bathroom was clean. Rate is Good Sam rate. We camped at Cottonwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.

The sites at this campground were very close together. Even though the campground was only half full, they still packed campers together, which left very little room for your slideouts and canopies. There were trees at nearly every site, which were just big enough to make turning in difficult, blocked satellite reception, and touched the slide outs. Both the men's and women's bathrooms had a horrible odor of ammonia and methane. We camped at Cottonwoods RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
