Visit the town of Herman, about 20 miles away, in the heart of wine country. Herman Wurst House is a good place to purchase fresh brats, bacon and sausage as well as food from the cafe.

This was our 2nd stay here and once again, it was perfect. Excellent customer service, beautiful well maintained park. We called for reservations and they returned our call promptly. The area around the park is hilly so many sites are terraced to make it easier to level. The transient sites are long and wide. Hookups are convenient. We didn't use the restrooms, laundry or wifi. The huge dogpark was loved by our dogs. The park owners are doing everything right to make their customer's feel welcome and cared for. I wished we could've stayed longer than an overnight. This would be a perfect place to rest for a few days. Will definitely return. We camped at Lazy Day Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a great park. While graveled, it was well packed and site was very level. We have no slides but there was plenty of room in our site to have had them. The campground is terraced which adds to the feel of space and privacy. The large dog park was very clean as was the rest of the park. Great value. The owners are on site and obviously take a great deal of time to present a well kept property. We would have stayed longer if we could have and will definitely return. We camped at Lazy Day Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very clean and nice campground. Road off of freeway a little rough but only 1 1/2 miles. Site was hard gravel and level, full hook up and everything worked as it should. Clean park, would return. We camped at Lazy Day Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice Good Sam park on a rolling hill with lots of trees. About half of the sites are in the open, making satellite reception doable. The park has wide gravel roads with gravel sites and picnic areas at each site. The very friendly owners, who do almost everything around the park, have added landscaping and created many level areas for their guests to enjoy. TV reception is limited to 4 major network channels. The power and water were good. Verizon worked in the park, but with 2 or 3 bars. The only disappointment was the Wi-Fi that was weak and sketchy even though it showed 5 bars most of the time. We would have stayed longer had there been a better, reliable internet. The towns are scarce in this area, so bring your provisions. The park check out time is noon except on Sunday when it moves too 1PM allowing guests to attend one of the local church before leaving. This is very thoughtful of the owners. If we were passing through the area, we would return. We camped at Lazy Day Campground in a Motorhome.

If you drive north 5-miles to Montgomery City on 161 and like Chinese food, the China King Restaurant is a good place to eat with large servings. They have a 5 star rating.

We pulled in here for an overnight stay and it is a very clean campground as the owners are right here and run everything that goes on. There are rules but if you are conscientious of what you do there will be not problem. They are very friendly here with a well kept campground and all building are clean. In 2001 after 9/11 they started having people sign the wall of the main building and after all these years they have had to redo some of the siding of the building. We enjoyed our stay here and would stop again. I had no problem driving through the campground but can see that it would be a challenge for some of the turns with a big unit. We camped at Lazy Day Campground in a Truck Camper.

We stopped there for one night. They have nice very long pull-thrus with full hookups. That was perfect as we didn't have to unhook from our travel trailer. The owners are very nice and friendly. Helped us get settled on our site, Came back to make sure we had an 30/50 amp adapter. I would definitely stop there again. We camped at Lazy Day Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is the best campground we've been to yet. The couple that run it keep it absolutely immaculate. They're very fussy about keeping the gravel maintained and the sites level. The swimming pool area was spotless. They escort everybody to their site. We camped at Lazy Day Campground in a Motorhome.

This is our second review and fifth overall park we've stayed in so far. Very pleasantly surprised at this park. It's clear the owners take a lot of pride in ownership. All areas were very clean, bathrooms and common areas are very clean. The owner is very crafty and has put her personal touches on everything from the items sold in the gift shop to the landscaping. We used the pool and dog park, both were great, clean, and easily accessible. The bathrooms were clean and the shower stalls spacious. The site, #1, was level, shaded, and close to the restrooms, laundry, and pool.

For $31 with Good Sam discount, the value was great. We would stay here again and recommend to others.

The ONLY drawback is the wifi was sporadic, but owner did say they are having someone come out to look and fix. It did work on and off, but it was slow when it did. We camped at Lazy Day Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Just stopping for the night, but looks like there are quite a few wineries and distilleries in the area. It would have been nice to check them out if we had time.

Off of the interstate about 3 miles so it was nice and quiet. Electric and water pressure were good. Site was gravel but we did have some shade. Stayed only 1 night since we were just passing thru but would stay here again. We camped at Lazy Day Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an older campground located 1.6 miles off I-70 that has been updated to accommodate today's larger rigs. Nearly all sites are pull through with varying lengths and widths. Some are side to side type so check what your getting when you make a reservation. All sites are gravel, reasonably level, with full hookups placed mid site. Several sites are shaded, several are out in the open for good Satellite reception, there is no cable and OTA is minimal at best. This campground is best value that we have stayed in on this 5 month trip and could have been a 10 except for the lack of cable and their very weak low bandwidth WIFI. We camped at Lazy Day Campground in a Motorhome.

Very well maintained campground, the owners take pride in their park. Pool, laundry, bathrooms, propane service, and a small shop with misc items all on premise. Not too far from a big truck stop, and only a mile or so off the interstate. Mainly gravel throughout the site, although it is very well maintained. Pull-through sites, and buddy sites offered. WiFi is very marginal, only capable of pulling up email. AT&T had service as well. We camped at Lazy Day Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
