14 Parks near Ellsinore, Missouri
Jul 2015 - $27.00
Nice woodlands campground; a lot like Montauk SP to the west - open, with many beautiful mature trees; W & E, dump station; standing water around for a while when rainy; old lodge with restaurant out-of-service; much deferred maintenance; some hiking trails; access to trout stream (spring & runoff fed); remote. - North Texas DJC
Oct 2012 - $21.00
Beautiful setting. Kids had a great time playing at the river and checking out the exhibits at the Visitor's Center. We saw deer roaming the park nearly every day. Fairly well stocked general store, but lots of "stuff". If you have the ability, take your bikes because they have a wonderful bike and walking trail. Make sure you fill your fresh water tanks before you set-up camp, they do not have water at the sites. - DDnDoug
Jul 2011 - $25.00
This is a beautiful park, it has a lot to offer, a small store, restaurant, canoe rentals and more. The sites are nice. We had 119, a very nice site. The St. Francois River is within walking distance, is crystal clear and so refreshing. My biggest complaints are the host and staff. We got here on a Friday about 5PM. We did not even see the host till late the next morning, than he had an attitude. One of our friends got in about 8:30. Their reserved site had someone else in it when they arrived. They talked to the host, who wasn't happy to be awakened, than not helpful to resolve the matter. The restrooms and showers were closed and cleaned from 8-9 or 10 AM. This should be done earlier than 8-9, when people are getting ready to go on a 10AM float trip. However, we had a good time. - jstrom
Jun 2008 - $40.00
Great park. The new owners are working to make this a very clean family-oriented park. The location is just beautiful, on the Current River. The sites all have nice level concrete pads with full hook-ups to include cable and free wireless internet. The camp store was pretty well stocked and the employees were all very helpful. We will stay here again. - Alan and Julie
Jun 2007 - $30.00
This really is a great campground. We stayed here a week and loved every minute. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and centrally located. The pool was cery clean and well kept. The owners are friendly and are working very hard to improve the grounds and facilities. This is a very family friendly campground. It sits directly on the Current River and is about a 10 minute drive from Van Buren. - Alan and Julie
Jul 2016 - $30.00
Stayed two nights. Nothing fancy. Clean, well cared for park with level sites & working utilities. Many sites with shade. Mgt. professional & helpful. We would stay again. - TPDBOB8687
Mar 2016 - $30.00
Somebody did an amazing job laying this campground out as it sits on several levels. Most sites are fairly level and hookups are nicely positioned. It's a little tight getting in and out but it works. There's nothing particularly special about this park but it works great for an overnight stop. Office staff was very friendly and led us to our site, which they do for everyone. We would stay here again. - PegL
Dec 2015 - $37.00
This is the second time we've used this an an overnight stop. The office staff is friendly and efficient. The short term sites are together in one area. Ours was a long pull through but had a curve in the middle which made it a challenge and impossible to get straight in the site. We were the only ones in that line of sites so it seemed more spacious than it does when other rigs are also there. There are several older mobile homes in the park right across from the short term sites but they're mostly well kept. There are a few other long term rigs in the park but they seem to have good rules about keeping their sites clean. Too bad that one guy living there near our site felt it imperative to run his noisy diesel truck for a half hour at 6am! In general the park was quiet considering it's right off a busy highway and it was a good stopping place, which we will probably use again. - PegL
Oct 2006 - $6.00
Very quiet, secluded place. We stayed here one night while passing through on Hwy 60. Very large campground, but sites do not have sewer hookups. Very friendly, helpful host. Would be tough to find a nicer place for an overnight stop at the $6 PA rate! However, dumping is an extra fee for PA. Also, no children--adults only. - Edistobob
May 2015 - $70.00
I have stayed in the cabins here multiple times, and have been more than satisfied with the accommodations!! The staff is super friendly and helpful! I suppose if you are expecting 5 star hotel accommodations, you may be a little disappointed, as the previous reviewer likely was, but if you are looking for a nice cabin on the River, that is exactly what it was! The cabins include electric, AC, heating, cable, stove, microwave, refrigerator, private bathroom/shower, BBQ grill, screened in porch overlooking the river... Overall, I would say this is one of the best places to stay near Clearwater Lake (which is saying a lot as I have stayed at almost every camping facility in the area). I would highly recommend this campground to anyone!! - Kazeiser
Apr 2008 - $80.00
We attempted to stay here. The Cabin rented to us was something out of a horror movie. It was old, unkempt, smelly, and scary. The building was fine but the inside and furnishings, well the Salvation Army would not accept them. It was so unacceptable that we counted it as a loss and left. Disgusting and not even an option. Look up other options in town. - kap7893
Jun 2016 - $39.00
What a gem. Beautiful sites. We were on the river and we walked down and sat in the beautiful cool river. GPS is a little off so we ended up turning too soon and got in a bit of a pickle. Staff is very helpful. - Castnay
Oct 2015 - $31.00
We stayed 1 night while traveling through the area.
The access to the park from US-60 (a divided 4 lane highway) requires passing through an uncontrolled intersection so turning off or onto the US-60 poses a slight hazard. Then travel is along a narrow rural residential road. And finally, the driveway into the park is steep creating the possibility of scraping or high centering. However, we didn't experience either of these problems.
The park DID NOT respond to any contacts online (electronic messages) even through their own website. Had to call the park directly to make reservations. The owner apologized for not responding to the electronic messages. The basic rate is for 30 AMP service. There is a $3.00/night charge for 50 AMP service.
The interior roads and site parking pads are gravel. The roads were narrow considering they were for 2-way traffic. The pull through sites were long enough for coaches and their toads. The sites were generally level. There is not much privacy between the sites as the sites are close to each other. They have full hook ups - water, electricity (50 AMP), & sewer. The utility connections were towards the middle to rear of the sites. The sewer fitting was above ground creating the potential for an uphill flow. There was an outside table and fire pit.
There are some trees/canopy that could make satellite reception hit and miss depending on site assignment and your dish configuration. Didn't try to get any broadcast channels.
The provided WiFi was adequate but it was dependent on how close your site is to the office. Our NET10 phone reception was acceptable.
No designated fenced pet area but there was sufficient area to walk dogs along the park roads. There was only one dumpster near the office to dispose of waste.
For being in a hazardous/severe weather area, there was no underground storm shelter. No structure was identified as a severe weather shelter. - bsb814
Aug 2015 - $25.00
The park is on the banks of the Current River and offers tubing on the river. The owners are friendly and want to ensure you enjoy your stay. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and well maintaained. The sites include both back in and pullthrough with full hookups. We were only going to stop for one night but wound up staying five nights and relaxing with the river flowing behind our site. We would definitely stay here again. - NEOK
Jun 2011 - $42.00
First of all let me say, this is a GREAT RV park if you are camping with children. If you are not planning on staying here with kids, there is not much for you to do. They have kid-friendly activities planned at all hours of the day: arts/crafts, tye-dye T-shirts, bubbles, storytime, biscuit throws, toy car races, etc. Yogi Bear comes out every morning to raise the flag and every evening for the Hey Rides. Other camping activities include a pool (pretty good sized), tiny water park (sprinklers, splashing buckets, water guns), playground, miniature golf course (6 holes), panning for "gold" (iron pyrite $). It includes a well stocked store, very clean restrooms and laundry room, and a Cartoon Cafe. Complimentary breakfast (M-F) left a little to be desired (boxed donuts, granola bars, and coffee) but the thought was nice. There is just so much for kids to do here! Upon entering the park, check in can be a little confusing as the store and the entrance to the park are not one and the same. If your site is not a full-hookup (concrete pads up by pool) be prepared for gravel!! All sites down by the river are gravel. Roads are not clearly marked. In fact they virtually blend in with the campsites! However, all of the gravel sites are very spacious. We have a 30 ft. motorhome with no slides, but those with big slides would have lots of room side-to-side to stretch out. Sites are nice and shaded down here and if you choose a riverfront site you are LITERALLY right on the river. Very nice little sand swimming beach to the Current River and a boat launch as well. Canoe/tube rental company operates on the premise so that you can float the river. Currently the river is beautiful. Staff was incredibly nice. For the price of $42 (not a full hookup site) you are really paying for all the activities for the kids. Hence it is not worth the price if you don't need/want all those activities. This is one of the best RV parks we have camped in. My toddler had a blast. Was very full for the weekend with lots of people, so peace and quiet was not the order of the day! But by Monday, they had all cleared out and order was restored. There is a golf course next door to the campground (not associated with the campground), so if you are looking for something else to do beside spend the weekend on the river, it was available. We did not use Wi-Fi so I cannot say as to how good it was, although it is available. Bottom line: this was one of our favorite RV parks and we will definitely be coming back. - mrchisho
Jun 2010 - $37.00
All grass or gravel sites with lots of shade. The Current River was very close, clean and clear. The grass was being cut while we were here for 3 days, it had been allowed to get too long and when cut, left quite a mess. Lots of bugs at night. We stayed during the week and they delivered a free pancake breakfast to all campers that wanted it: a neat perk. - msrebel
Sep 2009 - $32.00
$33.67 was the off season rate as opposed to $42 plus tax in season. For overnight stays in the winter there is a $25 rate. Lots of trees. Located on the current river 3.5 miles north of Highway 60 on Highway "M". There is a full hookup area at the top of the hill by the Store, pool and playground. Down the hill to the river bank are the campsite areas with 30 amps and water, no sewer. These are gravel sites under large oak trees with several literally on the river bank. We were almost the only ones in the campground. It was very quiet. We stayed in the Full Hookup sites with a concrete pad, 50 amps, cable, water and sewer. Water pressure was over 100 pounds so we were using a regulator. Internet access is free and response was excellent. We didn't use the pool, but it looked crystal clear and well maintained. It may have been the time of year, but there were no mosquitoes with the temperature and humidity in the 80's. They are pet friendly and our Maltese enjoyed the stay. Sites seemed well maintained, mowed and trees were trimmed. The full hookup sites had newer electrical boxes and there was expansion work on one of the concrete pads in progress. Hosts were very friendly and gave us a lot of information on the local area. We'll stay here again. - RVTravelerToo
May 2016 - $10.00
Nice enough park, sites a little more crowded and with less privacy than other COE parks I've been to. Motorboats on the lake were very noisy late into the night. There is a great walking/bike trail through the woods from the recreation area into the little town of Greenville. No water at sites, only at a few inconvenient places in the campground, but potable water available at the dump station. - KAP99
Jul 2010 - $8.00
Lovely well groomed park. They have playground equipment for the children. Good paved roads and nice level sites. Great dump station prior to the entrance. Even though the campground was mostly full, it was quite and clean. We had a great time here and would have stayed longer had we not had reservations elsewhere. We would stay here again. - valerie55
Jun 2009 - $16.00
Pretty Corps Of Engineers facility with some history regarding the old town of Greenville. Very pretty park lots of open room. Sites are paved and level with plenty of shade. Moving around was easy and park was very clean. - Texas Boomerang
May 2015 - $25.00
I have stayed in the cabins here a couple of times, and have been very satisfied. They contain a cable tv, heater and AC. They also each have one full size bed, and a set of bunk beds, along with a fire pot and BBQ grill. For $25 a night, you can't hardly beat it! - Kazeiser
Mar 2012 - $25.00
This Campground is under NEW Ownership!!! Come check it out again! They are a young couple and working to update the facilities. Any issues in the past, seem to be just there...in the past. We had a blast with them. Give them a try! - CO RVr
Jun 2009 - $23.00
The owner will tell you anything to get your business. The park isn't real quiet. There were a lot of parties, kids running through your campground and drinking. The WI-FI is available if you sit at the table outside where the kids are playing the electronic games and let the mosquitoes carry you away. We paid for a month and only stayed 2 weeks. It wasn't a real pleasant experience. - h_hob
Jul 2015 - $35.00
We were invited by some friends that stay at this campground every year and spoke highly of it so we decided to give it a shot. We normally stay in Doniphan Mo. but decided to come here this year and float. The staff was very welcoming and friendly and check-in was quick and easy. The site we stayed on was clean and tidy and the bathrooms were very nice, they even have hand dryers! We enjoyed the Karaoke party they threw on Saturday night and all in all it was a very good time! we will be back next year! - CRcamper
May 2012 - $45.00
This is an older campground. We picked if from the map as an overnight stop over on our way to Branson. It's advertised as Big rig friendly. We're 35' towing, and I thought it was a tight fit getting here through the narrow city streets, and tight turns. It's early in the season, and they're still getting cleaned up after the winter. I probably wouldn't stay here a 2nd time. - Tuney-GA
