Newer state CG. Most sites have water, elec, sewer. Rate we paid includes water and elec. Concrete sites. Beautiful area. ~ 27 miles from Winona. Not an easy drive. Lots of areas to hike. Wild horses visited us one morning. Only very small, newly planted trees in the CG. Our site needed cleaning...melted marshmallows, bandages, and campfire debris from previous campers, but overall a very good experience. We camped at Echo Bluff State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

There is a lodge a few blocks from the CG with cabins , rooms, and a very nice restaurant. Beautiful location. Visit Alley Mill. Alternative CG's include Alley Spring (new restrooms) and Round Springs (all back in).

Overall Rating:

The park is just over a year old but it looks like it opened yesterday. A little shade would be nice but they've planted lots of trees so that will change. Wild (not very) horses wander freely throughout the park. I keep wondering who cleans up after them but somebody must because I see no evidence of their presence. Zero cellular service but unusually good wifi as state parks go. Some of the sites on the edges of the campground might have a problem with satellite service due to adjacent high ground but the central sites shouldn't. Not much nearby shopping wise, so stock up before you get here. Park store has the basics.

It seemed like I'd gone too far and missed it coming South from Salem. Don't worry. The entrance is very well marked. You won't get past without seeing it. We camped at Echo Bluff State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

More like an RV park than a State Park campground. Zero privacy. None. I had neighbors very close on both sides and, because of the tiered layout, I also had neighbors above me. I couldn't even leave my skylight open. Screaming kids everywhere. Wifi worked in my spot because I was under the router but it didn't seem to work outside of my site. Staff was extremely nice. I can see that they were trying to make this park nice and 'modern' but unfortunately it was just packed in too tightly with no attention to privacy or nature. We camped at Echo Bluff State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is one of the nicest state parks we have visited. As mentioned this is a new park, so there is not much shade. The picnic side of the camper will be in the sun late afternoon til sunset. The playground and splash pad are great for any aged child. Our 2 year old loved the splash pad. The lodge is immaculate and worth a visit even if you don't need anything. We did not eat at the restaurant. On Friday there was a presentation in there amphitheater, but did not attend. We will be back soon. We camped at Echo Bluff State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second stay here and the park has become one of our favorites. Most of the park is within walking distance of the campground, with paved sidewalks or gravel trails connecting the different areas. The lodge and cabins are beautiful. There are programs at the amphitheater on weekend evenings during the summer. The playground is one of the nicest I've ever seen and includes a splash pad. There are historic buildings from the time the park was used as a youth summer camp. There are two hiking/mountain biking loops that include mountain bike challenge elements. We hiked both loops and enjoyed the hike very much (the trailhead is one of the few places you must drive to). Sinking Creek flows through the park; it is crystal clear and warmer than nearby Current River so it it is perfect for swimming and splashing, even in the spring. We stayed four nights over the extended Easter weekend. The lodge had photos with the Easter bunny, crafts and an Easter egg hunt for the kids. There is excellent wifi in the campground as well as at the lodge and the picnic pavilions at the playground. Cell service is not good. There is no shade in the campground yet, but trees have been planted. The wind can be strong in the campground. If it gets windy, pull your awning in. The gentleman in the campsite next to us returned to camp and found his awning on top of his trailer. We camped at Echo Bluff State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is plenty to do outside the park too. Round Spring and cave and Alley Spring (with historic mill) are a short drive away. Floating on the Current and Jacks Fork Rivers is very popular. There are several canoe rentals in the area and some of them even come into the park to pick up and drop off floaters.

Overall Rating:

The campground, as well as the state park, opened in late July 2016. There are roughly 60 sites. All have concrete pads, fire ring, and a picnic table.

While cell coverage is spotty, there is Wi-Fi in the campground that was very reliable.

There are beautiful woods on the periphery of the campground; not much in the way of shade though trees have been planted and will offer more interior shade several years down the road.

The campground hosts were very friendly. We camped at Echo Bluff State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a brand new campground. All concrete pads and streets. Surrounded by beautiful Ozark mountains. But there are no shade trees at any of the sites. We camped at Echo Bluff State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a brand new state park in Mo. It just opened in Aug. of 2016.

Excellent facilities: all year round sites, beautiful lodge where you can eat , cabins, playground, picnic shelters, hiking, kayak, fishing. There are even wild horses roaming near the park. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 because there are no trees at the camp ground. It'll be too hot in the Summer.

Don't take Hwy 69 but use 72 from Rolla. Much much better. We camped at Echo Bluff State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a brand new state park - just opened in July. Although there are no trees yet, it is a beautiful park! All sites are concrete pads with picnic tables & fire ring. Free wifi with a fairly strong signal. Cellphone service is little to none unless you go to the Lodge, then it is good. Highway 19 between Salem & the park is VERY curvy & hilly. We loved it here & will definitely be back! We camped at Echo Bluff State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you're into canoeing, kayaking, hiking or just enjoy some beautiful scenery, this is the place to stay! If you go into Eminence, eat at the Dairy Shack. Walk up to the window & order but cheeseburger was delicious & so was the ice cream!

This state park and campground opened last month, so we knew not to expect any shade near the campsites.

Other than that, they did a first-rate job in the design and layout with extra-wide roadways. Plenty of full hookup sites. Clean restrooms and showers.

The park may be remotely located but there's plenty of activities. We camped at Echo Bluff State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a brand new park. All facilities are brand new and shiny and well maintained. There are 62 electric sites and 12 walk in. The sites are not large and for now there is absolutely no shade for non primitive sites. The scenery of this nearly 500 acre park is what makes it special. Many trails to hike and the Sinking Creek river offers a beautiful place to swim, fish and float. The park has a beautiful lodge and restaurant overlooking the bluff and creek boasting decks to sit and relax to enjoy the view. We camped at Echo Bluff State Park in a Travel Trailer.
