Parked on an end of row site. Sewer, water and 50 amp service good. Wifi weak 1 - 2 bar signal only, cable connection very weak/bad and lot of video noise. Told desk clerk on check out, but was basically unconcerned and could care less. Sewer connection concrete was loose where it connects to sewer PVC. Bundle of wood $7.00. Lot of activities available. An older Park that could use some tender loving care and updating. Drive through site, but backed out due to tree on left side of site. Escorted to site, but internal roads have many potholes that need filling. Parked near construction supplies. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent park, close to 6 Flags. With 10 minutes to WalMart, restaurants and other shopping. Sites were level and hook ups were good with no issues. Several families camped around us but park was relatively quiet except trains running behind park. That did not bother us, but some might not care for the rumble of trains. We had no issue with hooking towed up and departing from our site. Would definitely stay here again when we come visit our son and his family. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed in site A39. It was just long enough not to unhook our tow vehicle. The park was clean and well organized, check in and reservations were efficient. Like most commercial parks, sites are very close, but adequate for slide-outs. We were not bothered by road or train noise. Definitely an older park with tighter turns and narrow roads, but well maintained. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

This park is easily accessible from I-44 but a good 30 miles southwest of St. Louis. The staff were very friendly and helpful, providing an escort to our site. Some of the roads and sites are gravel and they produced quite a bit of dust, also the park is quite hilly. That said, our site was pretty level. This is a family friendly park, with a nice pool that can get quite crowded at times. The fresh baked cookie on arrival was a nice touch! As noted on other reviews, there is a lot of train noise. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We were disappointed that there is so much construction around the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial. The museum is closed, but many exhibits have been relocated to the Old Courthouse until renovations are complete. The trip to the top of the arch is not for the faint-hearted or claustrophobic! Get tickets early or online.

The nicest people on Earth run this KOA. I stored my trailer here for a few days in their storage area and then camped in an electric & water site for a night before heading on my way. Storage rate is fantastic and my site was very nice in a quiet, tree lined area. Free coffee and cookies in the check in area and a very nice store. But the staff is what makes this place, I wish all people were as nice as the folks that work at the St. Louis Route 66 KOA. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Travel Trailer.

About 30% of KOA's I stay have a railroad nearby ... or you can hear one in the distance. This one has a freight line that runs over a bridge about 100 yards away from A31. My RV shook as each one passed, at least one an hour all night ... ouch! Otherwise a nice wooded park with Six Flags close, there were families with young children squealing while using the playground right next to A31. If I return I'll ask for sites A34 thru A45. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

The campground was nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. Yes, the trains are a bit loud, but they didn't interrupt our sleep. The park is convenient to St Louis attractions, and offers detailed directions to everything in the area. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

The Amheiser Busch factory tour is not to be missed. Absolutely beautiful. The Arch was fun to go up in. I highly suggest you make on line reservations for the brewery and Arch. Tickets sell out fast.

We made reservations early in the afternoon and were told the pull-thru sites for big rigs were almost all full and we got the last one. When we pulled in, there were several open sites that remained open until the time we pulled out the next morning (?). The roads were fairly narrow with tight turns but did not pose a problem for our 40' rig. Staff was friendly and we were escorted to our site. Our site was level gravel/grass, plenty wide enough for our slides and utilities were conveniently located. We did park our truck in front of the restrooms as instructed by our guide, since the site was a little short. We did not use the restrooms/showers but stopped in to check them out and they were great! The one by our site was small - 2 toilets and 2 showers - but extremely clean and well-kept. All utilities, including cable and wi-fi, worked well. The pool was just being opened but was nice-sized and very clean. There is a dog park but we didn't take the time to visit it. We come through this area fairly often and would definitely stay here again. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

An old time KOA with all dirt and gravel interior and pads. Expensive for the time of year and condition of the roads. I almost felt I was on a jeep trail just to get to our site. Unusual for a KOA but we were "kind of" guided to our site and the dude just drove off. Most KOAs do a good job with this service. The interior road in front of the coach was quite narrow and I really had to concentrate on not hitting the trees when I pulled out. We were offered cable as they claimed we couldn't get satellite. Cable didn't work but satellite did. Wifi was a joke. Soon after we settled in we found out there were train tracks just outside the park so lots of train noise. This KOA was not suited for big rigs and should state this on their web site. We would never stay in this KOA again. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Older KOA that is maintained Okay but could use some gravel in spots to cover mud and help level sites. Highway noise but tolerable if air conditioners were running. But nothing can mask the sound of the train traffic just on the other side of the highway. Must average at least one train per hour including all night long. My site was right next to the road so if you were further away it might not be as noticeable. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Easy to get to from I 44. Interior roads a little tight for long combination vehicles but once in the site okay on length. Park could use more obvious placement of trash bins, or at least mark them on their park map. Staff was friendly. Close to Purena Farms, a nice stop for dog and cat people as well as entertaining for kids with milking demos, farm animal petting and dog agility demos. Shaw Nature Center would be nice in the Spring or a little later in the fall as the leaves begin to turn.

Staff was nice. There are many amenities for people with children such as a pool, bicycles, and a bounce house. There are a lot of children playing unsupervised at the entrance - we almost hit one on a big wheel as he rode around our truck and trailer. However the rear of the campground is more secluded and the staff seems to put people without children back there. The scenery in the back was beautiful but you can hear the hum of the interstate.

Ask to stay in the back of the park. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Travel Trailer.

The folks here were very friendly and the camp was quite busy, right on rt. 66. Nice facilities, pool, nice gift shop with supplies, our site was a bit in need of some fresh gravel (little muddy). The bathrooms and showers are in need of updating (old formica, old tile floors) but clean enough to use and were comfortable. We would stay here again. Check in was quick and easy. Shown to site and received help positioning coach. No issues with water electric and cable, but WiFi was slow. Site was level and roads were okay. There were areas of grass that appeared to be very long and in need of cutting. This distracted from the appearance of the park. Train in the distance but not an issue. Great park for a night while traveling in the area or touring the St Louis area. We will stay here again. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
