We have camped at Binder Park each year for 20 years and the facilities and price has always been reasonable. Paved and shaded sites, clean restrooms and 10 minutes from anywhere in Jefferson City. We have experienced many camp host over the years. The present camp hosts (as of September/October 2016) are the nicest people that Jefferson City has had in several years. We camped at Binder Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Jefferson City is loaded with wonderful independent places to eat besides a national franchise restaurant. You must eat at the ECCO Lounge. The outside looks will deceive you. It is a 100 year old establishment that may look like an old beer joint, but it has a chef that turns out a daily menu that is out of this world. Also try the Prison Brew Restaurant. They have great food and craft beer. Oscars and Mel's Restaurant can't be beat for home cooked breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Overall Rating:

Binder City Park is a small campground with 17 sites all within one loop. As you enter the campground the camp host site is on your left side. There is a steep short hill (one way) to climb before you see the first camp site. The interior road is on asphalt and all sites are on concrete. Most of the sites are fairly level. At the time of our stay, 2 of the sites were being used by long term residents.
All sites have a covered picnic area and fire ring. There is a bathhouse with 2 showers per gender. There was (2) washers costing $1.00 and (2) dryers costing $0.50 per load. All of the sites except the first 3 were under a canopy of trees. For the most part they were well trimmed.
All sites have 50/30/15 amp electrical service. The voltage was good - hovering around 120 volts. The electrical box is situated at the back of the site. The sewer is located behind the electrical box. None of the water spigots are located within or near a site. I needed 70 feet of hose to connect to my fresh water outlet. I used 25 feet of sewer hose to reach the sewer. Some sites need even more hoses.
The park does not have WiFi. Our Verizon cell phone was roaming instead of broadband. Verizon air card had good reception. There was some train noise but it was not bad.
Reservations are recommended during the summer months.
We would come back to this campground. We have a 32 foot 5th wheel. We camped at Binder Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice city park, a little outside the city. It was very quiet, very wooded and very private. The sites are paved and easy to get into. Probably the only downside would be sharing the water with your neighbor. Ours was ok, but others had to run 2 hoses to get to the hydrant. Most sites would be hard to get satellite reception due to the trees, but it was very nice to have the shade. We stayed here 2 nights and would definitely return. We camped in a 32' Fifth Wheel. Overall Rating:

If you like "woodsy" campgrounds and have a smaller RV you will like this small park. There were as many tents as RVs at the park. Lots & lots of trees on the sites and by the road. Being full timers with a tall 37' 5W, this park is too tight and treed for us. The first site we tried (#10) was a blind back-in uphill on a curve with trees beside it. We moved to #7. OK but you need to be very aware of overhead trees and trees beside the road and your site. Our water hook-up was shared with another site so we had to use an extension hose to reach. 50a power was OK. There were far too many trees for our rooftop dish to work. Our site dropped 6" if you stepped off the narrow blacktop so be careful. The price was right but the park is just not for us. We camped at Binder Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Small city park, spacious sites, secluded sites, on site laundry, (something you see in state or federal parks). Nearby lake, hiking, bicycling, sports complex etc.. Well maintained and an exceptional value at the standard rate of $15 a night. We stayed in a 40' rig and had plenty of room and no hint of trouble setting up. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Binder Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

A very nice park operated by the city located close to Binder Lake recreation area. We have used this park numerous times when visiting family in the area. Level concrete pads. Most sites are shaded. Only caveat is the possible need for extended water hose due to the shared spigots. Park seems to be maintained well during each of our visits. A camp host is on site. Could be a challenge to locate off US 50 but worth checking out ! We camped at Binder Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a wonderful park, has a fishing lake in the park with handicap access. Water is, or appears to be, 1 spigot per 2 sites so some sites require a long hose. Fire pits and picnic tables are on concrete pads. We camped at Binder Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A great little campground: clean, level concrete pads, quiet and a convenient 5 miles to town. Located in a city park and recreation area. Definitely a "Stay In". We camped at Binder Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We found this campground to be very handy while visiting the State Capitol area. Campground is on a hill side but each site is very level and will accommodate large RVs. We were able to open our 3 slides but did not open the awning due to tree limbs. Each site has a covered picnic table, grill and fire pit. There are 17 sites plus a host. Rates are $14 for full hook up and $13 for electric only. Reservations can be made. We camped at Binder Park in a Fifth Wheel.
