We stayed in the Tall Oaks rows, which had some shade. We stayed here in a 38ft coach with tow. The sites were very long and level, they have crushed stone patio area, so you are out of the mud if it rains.

Dog park, playground, pool. Fishing and duck pond. No activities.

The area has good shopping, mostly on Business 49/S.Ridgeline Rd. Not alot of local activities, so if just want to relax and camp, this could work for you. We camped at Joplin KOA in a Motorhome.

Went down to Camping World in Lowel, Arkansas. Not a nice store, so will stick to the Springfield, Missouri store.

Stopped for an overnight stay. Amenities seemed a bit sub par for a KOA. The site was level and had full hookups. The location, immediately adjacent to the Interstate, was very convenient and quiet despite being so close to the highway. Would definitely stay again if needed while traveling. We camped at Joplin KOA in a Travel Trailer.

I stayed at the Joplin KOA for 2 nights. I would consider this park to be a decent but expensive stop over point, but I would not want to stay at this campground for a long period of time. The campground buildings are showing their age, very close to a truck stop and around 200 yard from the interstate. Not an ideal set up for camping but it did work out for the short time I needed to stay.

(Lot spacing was nearby with sunny/open exposure. Site surface was gravel featuring a picnic table.) We camped at Joplin KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed one night on way back to Canada. Excellent pull-thru sites, long enough for 54' with toad and extremely level. Best hookup posts I have ever seen. No truck noise contrary to my expectation. Cable is very, very grainy and not HD...might be analog. Would definitely stop here again. We camped at Joplin KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed overnight here on the way through town. The park was nice and the spaces were long, level, and well spaced. Our section had grass and nice trees. Despite the location near a truck stop and the interstate the noise was not an issue. While the park was nice, the price was a little high. We camped at Joplin KOA in a Travel Trailer.

The rate reflects a 10% KOA discount. It was easy on-and-off access to I-44 behind a truck stop. We didn't really notice excessive noise from the truck stop or the expressway. Wi-Fi was decent. An access code was needed for each device, but we were not charged extra when we requested 3 codes. We had a pull-through site with hook-ups well located. Lots are shaded. Cable TV included. Bathrooms looked like they had newer paint and mirrors. Showers were nice. Just a one night stop for us--it fit the bill. But did seem a bit pricey. We camped at Joplin KOA in a Motorhome.

Our site was level and clean with an escort to the site. Easy in and out from the freeway and easy to maneuver in the park. The staff was friendly and made check in a breeze. We camped at Joplin KOA in a Motorhome.

Rate was for 30 amp with full hookups. Driveways are gravel and the pads are gravel and grass. They are located right next door to a Petro and a Pilot truckstop. The steady roar of the diesel trucks is not noticeable when you're running your air conditioner. We found 30 Cable channels. CNN and the weather channel and lots of interference. ATT phone service is 5 out of 5 bars; Verizon was 5 out of 5 bars. There is no trash pickup at the sites. There are some newly planted trees. The free Wi-Fi is limited to one device. Extra devices require extra payment. Wi-Fi strength was good and response is response is 2 to 3 seconds. There was a picnic table, but no patio or fire rings. No flies or mosquitoes are noticeable. Grass seeds are all over in the grass and get caught in our dog's long hair and wedge between his toes. For the money I think we'll find another place to stay in Joplin. We camped in a Motorhome. Well, what can I say. It's a KOA and they charge a lot no matter what. However, it did serve it's purpose as a place to rest after several long days of driving, do our laundry, and get into the chrome shop nearby first thing Monday morning. We were able to access a pull-through with our big rig and Jeep tow. The laundry room was clean. The sites were muddy, but that wasn't their fault. There are far too many strangely placed poles and signs for maneuvering a big rig, but we made it! The biggest complaint was our site was heavily littered with dog poo from previous "guests" who obviously could care less about considerate dog ownership. We have three dogs, and are fastidious about cleaning up after them immediately, but we had to watch our step in our campsite. Close to a truck stop, but we didn't find it a problem as far as noise. The kind of funny thing about our relatively early Sunday morning arrival (11:30 a.m.) was the admonition from the park that we better try to get there before noon because the CIRCUS was in town, and the entire frontage road in front of the park would be clogged with traffic before and after the twice daily showtimes. Boy was it ever! We made it into the park before the traffic jam began. If you have a big rig with a long wheel base, watch out for the concrete planters in the middle of the entrance road. Turning in from a narrow frontage road, we had to go on the wrong side of the RV park entrance road to make it into the park unscathed. No problem, and the office said it happens frequently. Laundry room was clean with modern equipment, and the office is well stocked with quarters. Several truck stops, repair places, and a cool chrome shop nearby. Baskin Robbins in downtown Joplin, 4 exits back on the freeway, so life was good! We camped at Joplin KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Very sobering to drive around the wide swath downtown where the tornado hit in 2011. There are still many, many empty lots. Lots of new building going on though, but it was a strange feeling to know what devastation had occurred there.

Just off I-44. Easy access. Pool was closed and not accessible; maybe for the season. Highway traffic noise was apparent due to location. Large tree covered sites that were level and easy to maneuver. The host was friendlyand helpful. Would definitely stay again while passing through. We camped at Joplin KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Like most KOAs, it is more expensive than it should be. The park is located right of off I-44, but the at the back of the park where we were, highway noise was not noticeable. There is a truck sales, service and transportation company next door. This borders one side of the park, but is not a noisy operation. There is, however, a 24 hour truck stop on the other side of the KOA that does generate a lot of noise. The roads and sites are well graveled and level. There are a number of really long sites for those with big rigs. We were escorted to our site. The office sells 12” thin crust pizzas, freshly baked and will deliver to your site, which can be convenient after a long day on the road. They were pretty good. There are a couple of ponds in the park that are home to several flocks of ducks. You can get duck and turtle food from the office, to feed to the residents of the ponds. There is a right-of-way for a natural gas pipeline, that makes for a good dog walk. There are several excellent truck stops near the RV park. Shopping and restaurants are plentiful a couple exits down the highway. We would stay here again. The pool was closed for season. We camped at Joplin KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Well laid out campground with nice hookup posts (power, cable). Clean level sites, easy navigation on the gravel roads. Staff waited past closing to check us in and escort us to the site. Our site had trees/shade. Easy access off of I-44 but didn't hear any road noise. We camped at Joplin KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is an easy on and off to the interstate. We were placed in the back part of the park near the long term campers. This campground is OK for a one night stay but I plan to look at others in the area. This campground seems a little run down with high grass/weeds at the sites. This park that confirms my opinion that KOAs, are, on the whole, not worth the money paid to stay there. We arrived on a day when it had snowed days before and thawed, snowed, and thawed, and snowed. It was a muddy mess, slippery, and scary to walk around in. We were going to be in the area several days but left the next morning to find better accommodations. We would not stay here again. Sites are fairly level gravel, bathrooms and laundry were clean. However, the park is close to the interstate so there is always traffic noise, which may be a problem for some, depending on which site you are in. Wi-Fi worked okay during the day, but toward evening it bogged down and became unusable. We have a camper van so we reserved water/electric only site. After checking in we asked the owner where the dump station was. He said he didn't have one since it was damaged by a MH; KOA wanted him to repair it but he was refusing. We asked for a discount based on no dump station, but he refused, saying the price he gave us was the lowest he'd give. We have not had positive experiences over the years at KOAs and this one was disappointing. We would not stay here again. We camped at Joplin KOA in a Motorhome.
