We stayed here for two nights on the weekend. Very clean and presentable campground. The marina is wonderful. Horse stables and trails are a nice touch too. Next time we'll try to book right on the Lake of the Ozarks. Expect a long drive in from the highway. Sort of surprising. We'll go back. We camped at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed at the LOTO (Lake of the Ozarks) State park at the end of July. The park is nicely wooded and in some areas, you have a great view of the lake. The camping spaces are well spaced. The lots are paved and level. The amenities, while older (shower/bathrooms) were well maintained and clean. Plenty of wildlife as my husband and I saw a lot of deer. Campground hosts were good about stopping by when we checked in and were seen out and about quite a bit. We camped at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The Park has trails that will take you to the lake. You can fish at the lake. The park offers a parking lot for boats that you are allowed to leave a boat for 48 hours. There is a small fish boat rental and Kayak and paddle boat rental as well.

Overall Rating:

This park is in a great location on the water with many amenities, however IT IS NOT BIG RIG FRIENDLY !!! We have a 45ft class A pusher and we had reserved a site in section 4 (the back of the park) suitable up to 60ft; however, the site was on an incline and we were unable to ever get sufficiently level. Also, the winding road through the park with many trees make it easy for something to go wrong. Fortunately, my husband is an experienced big rig driver so we managed to get through without any damage, but even a good driver could hit a tree limb at some point. They do have a couple of sites in section 1 that would be suitable for a big rig. The people in the office were very friendly and helpful and fully understood our issue. I would definitely recommend this park for people that have a smaller rig or a tent. The park is green, the sites have a nice amount of space between them and the lake is fantastic. We were bummed to have to move to a different RV park. The one thing that would have been tough had we stayed is that we did not have cell phone or internet access from the site. A blessing for some, specially if you want kids to do something other than be on their phones, however I work from our RV so not having cell service is an issue. We camped at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed at LOTO SP at the end of April, which is usually a very quiet weekend. Instead, this year the campground was nearly full with some sort of bicycle road race event taking place. Good thing we'd booked weeks in advance! The park campground is older, with most sites back-in, and roads narrow, turns sharp. I noticed this year they've laid down some gravel on the edges and around some turns in an attempt to accommodate today's behemoth rigs. Camping spaces are generally nicely separated, and among stands of large shady trees. I do not recommend driving to this park or arriving after dark, as the MO state highways leading to it are quite twisty and hilly, and local drivers will be very impatient and passing / tailgating dangerously. We camped at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in a Motorhome.

Camped In Section 1, (3 other sections avail with varied services) sites are blacktop, close together, some not very level. Lots of trees. Arrived on a Friday, no problem getting a site. Wonderful trails near the CG. Great staff. Restroom old, dated...did not use. We camped at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Check out Bagnell dam overlook and the Willmore Lodge...interesting history. Ozark Lake area known for watersports, a resident said that in the summer there are approx 50,000 boats on Lake Ozark and on a holiday weekend, 60,000. Be sure to stop by Andy's Frozen Custard for a yummy treat! http://www.eatandys.com/

Nice state park with water access. Large park with over 150 sites. Nice roomy sites as at most state parks. Site had electricity, but no water or sewer. Make sure water tank is full on arrival. We returned to this great MO state park for a 4 day stay in mid-June. Found the park to be very clean and busier than ever. Reservations are a must if you want electric. Or a site near the lake. Nice long, near level sites with plenty of room to relax under the many shade trees. No sites with water and sewer. Very clean and well kept shower rooms and bathrooms. Nice playgrounds. Great family spot. We camped at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of stores and shopping in Osage Beach, about 15 mi. from park. However it is an extremely busy tourist area. Best to have all of your food and camping needs on hand when you enter the park.

Our GPS took us to the other side of the lake, durn. We liked this park, even though the sites are only electric, the bathrooms have free showers and are clean, even if a little dated. Had a raccoon come into camp to investigate our pooch, many deer and goose as well. Great place to stay and would do it again if in the area for sure. Fire pit could have been cleaner and sites are a little close in places. We really enjoyed our stay here! We camped at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Some have said shopping is a ways out on curvy roads, which is true. The abundance and variety of shopping, however, is really good. Local grocery had everything we needed and had a good selection of wine and beer to boot.

We camped here during the week as weekends are typically very booked.

This is an older state park with paved roads and sites HOWEVER it is very tight in some areas for a crew cab truck and 33 ft. fifth wheel! We found a half dozen places where it was impossible to pass without both the truck and trailer being off the road.

Several nice hiking trails will provide a variety of levels for everyone.

The lake is within walking distance of all sites and adjacent to many in the #4 area. We camped at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

It is approximately 8 miles to the nearest grocery store or Wal Mart on narrow, curvy roads. Plan accordingly.

This is a great state park--perfect for families. Lots of play space, good playground, a swimming beach, trails, etc. We have stayed here for many 3-5 day get-togethers with family. Always have plenty of room for extended family get-togethers. Usually stay near the water and fish right from our site. Lots of shade--so a good place to be on hot Missouri summer days. The only thing that would make it better would be to have water and sewer at each site. We camped at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Park is about 20 min. from stores and shopping. Wise to stock up before getting to camp. Does have a small camp store for ice, fire wood and basic groceries.

Shower rooms are well cared for--cleaned morning and night. Good water pressure, plenty of warm water. Nice parking area at each one if you don't want to walk to the shower rooms.

Lake of the Ozarks State Park is a large park with many campsites. There are a lot of beautiful sites right on the lake, however you need to make reservations early. Our site was shady and nice for just the two of us, but one side of the camper was very close to the neighboring site. This was the side away from our table and fire pit so it was not an issue when we were outside, however after bedtime it felt like we were right in the middle of their campsite since we were so close. For anyone wanting more primitive sites there are many large camp sites. Our restrooms and showers were clean and well kept, but one of the older facilities in the park. Sometimes we would use the newer facilities, but it was necessary to drive to there. This park has a couple of yurts in the camping area. Further away there are cabins. These take about an extra 10 to 15 minutes to get to. There is a camp store at this park where you can purchase some very basic supplies, fountain soda and ice cream but there hours are limited. Many trails are available. This year there were many deer to see. Be careful driving the curvy road into the park. Often we saw deer right on the edge of the road. The staff at this park were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of rangers and Missouri staff were around as well as many campground hosts. We camped at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to do here. Playground, beach and trails. Fishing and boating. Beautiful area. Campsite is spacious and clean. Paved roads and lots and lots of deer on the road in. Poor cell service which can be a plus! Get directions in advance. Our phone navigation led us down a crazy dirt road that led to the lake not the campgrounds.

This is a beautiful, large park located on the Lake of the Ozarks. The sites do not have full hookups but a dump station and fresh water are available. The pads are mostly asphalt although many were concrete. Some of the primitive sites were lightly graveled. Most sites are heavily shaded and fairly level.

Cell service was good at our spot (#37) but friends staying down next to the lake had no service. Television reception will also depend on the range of your antenna, altitude and trees.

The size of the lots is huge. They are well planned out and offer a large buffer zone between sites. The handicapped spots were very level, scenic and concrete paved.

In addition to camping, there are trails to hike, a boat ramp, horse rides and both covered and open picnic areas.

We had never been to this park before and were very impressed. There are a few state parks near our home and they are nice but do not offer nearly as many amenities as Lake of the Ozarks State Park. We camped at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful park. The best sites are down on the lake but I needed Wi-Fi (no Verizon service) so I stayed close to the gate, where it is available. It's a huge park with trails and many camping loops. Would love to come back and stay longer to explore. We camped at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in a Motorhome.

Nice area, convenient to Lake, shopping, food. Friendly camp hosts, will assist in directions and info. WiFi only at front gate, or sites closest to same. We camped here before massive tourist rush, so was not crowded at all. When summer comes I would avoid. Bathrooms usable, but not as nice as should be due to Missouri state budget cuts. Rate reflects senior discount. We camped at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
