We stayed in sites 27 & 42. The pollen was terrible in May! :) no fault of the campground! Our Satellite(traveler) wouldn't pick up signal and I couldn't get anything over the air! Made for a few NICER days! We visited family in the area! Camp hosts were awesome! We camped at Knob Noster State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We spent one night here on our way from Florida to Alaska via Denver and really enjoyed the campground. We were on the Thursday night before the 4th of July weekend and the campground was virtually deserted. Very quiet and peaceful. There is a modern new shower/bathroom near the office, but we used the older one nearer to our campsite and while it was older it was very clean and well maintained. All of the facilities were private suite-like units. The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. While it is off the beaten path from I-70, it was worth the extra miles to stay here vs. a Walmart in KC. We recommend this Park. We camped at Knob Noster State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Whiteman AFB is just a short mile or so down the road and we could occasionally hear jet engines from the bombers, but it was not at all bothersome.

This is a park nestled in the trees with two lakes within the boundaries. The sites are close to primitive in design with electrical only. You will not get satellite service due to the tree coverage. This is a good park especially for rv's under 40' in length. Watch the tree branches driving in as they do not trim them on a regular basis. Most of the folks that use this park are campers and build a fire everyday. Be prepared for smoke throughout the day and night. We camped at Knob Noster State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

I stayed one night camping in a tent. My biggest complaint was the noise from the highway and the train line. If you camp with a trailer or RV you probably won't hear the noise as much as camping in a tent. The park ranger was very friendly and helpful.

Lots of green, lush Oak and Elm trees lined the meandering paths and roads. The small cottages were quaint and inviting.

The road was very easy to navigate since it was just a simple loop through the campground. The sites looked like grass, a small gravel pad surrounded by trees. We camped at Knob Noster State Park in a Tent.

Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay here and really have no complaints. They only have electrical hookups, but there is a dump station on your way out and water faucets located here and there throughout the park to fill your tanks. Each site has a picnic table, a post to hang a lantern, and a fire pit. Restroom and shower areas were well maintained and park itself was kept up. There are 5 or 6 designated "family campsites" if you need more space. A lot of lake access within the park for fishing and walking trails. Nice quiet park. We would definitely camp there again. We camped at Knob Noster State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very quiet, sites reasonably spaced. Lots of bathroom facilities and water spigots throughout the campground, especially for the size. Gravel sites except the handicap sites are concrete. 10 minute drive to Warrensburg. We camped at Knob Noster State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice clean park. Nice hosts. Easy access from US50. Quiet except for the occasional "Sounds of Freedom" from the next door neighbor: Whiteman AFB home of the B-2 bomber. For those with access to Whiteman AFB this is as close to a FamCamp as there is, as Whiteman AFB does not have one on base. We camped at Knob Noster State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Nice little stop-over close to Hwy 50. The sites are hard-packed gravel and overall pretty flat. Selection of reservable and electric sites. Good shade trees and nice separation between campers. The surrounding park has a couple of lakes with fishing and a selection of hiking trails so it's a lovely natural setting and great for a few days stop, but there's not much else around. The nearest very small town is Knob Noster, otherwise you're in farmland. Central dump and potable water, free hot showers, plus there's a laundry on-site (only $0.75/load). We'd stop again if we were coming through. We camped at Knob Noster State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a nice state park that is clean and quiet. We didn't need reservations to camp here, but it seems the reservation system is a little strange. If you don't plan to spend more than 2 days here then a reservation probably is not needed. There is no water or sewer at the sites so you need to fill your fresh water tank as you pull in. There is 30 amp electric at most sites and for the most part they are easy to back into. We would stay here again for an overnight or two, but there is really nothing much to do in the area unless you are visiting family like we were, or had some business at the base. We camped at Knob Noster State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
