Oct 2015 - $40.00
Very nice attractive park with great out door amenities including lake, dog park, pool and tree sheltered camping spaces. Picnic tables and wheel rim fire pits at each site. Nice staff to work with. - Wendy Schleich
Aug 2013 - $40.00
Trees are low-hanging, but negotiable. Nice campground, but overpriced for an overnite... but...it is the only campground around. The office doesn't often answer their phone; left two messages but never got a return call. The office also was reluctant to offer any assistance to problems I was having after we got there. Also, closed the office before closing time. We probably would try to avoid coming here again. - carderh
May 2012 - $45.00
Great campground, but holiday activities were not planned very well. It is a Jellystone park now and I was disappointed to find the new pool, just opened, was closed during certain hours over the holiday weekend for adult swim only. As a matter of fact, people with children were being turned away from the pool during these times even if the pool was completely empty. The alternative was the swimming area at the lake, which was nice, but one can only take so much lake water. Much of the staff didn't seem very friendly. We approached several staff during our stay for different reasons, and more often than not they seemed annoyed by our questions. With that said, the owner was awsome. She seemed to want to go out of her way to make sure her guests were happy. We will be back, but not during a holiday or themed weekend due to poor activity planning. Also, be advised you will pay 25 cents for every 6 minutes in the showers if you use the public bath house. I suggest the upper bathhouse over the lower, as the upper bathhouse has larger showers and the facilities are cleaner. - User2541
Jul 2016 - $28.00
Nice little park. Quiet. Just off the road. Easy in and out. Owners are friendly and proud of their campground. I arrived late and the owner was at the entrance waiting to direct me to my site. Has putt putt golf. Laundry room was spotless. 3 washers 4 dryers. wash $1 and dry was $.75. - camper19709
Jun 2016 - $35.00
Small park but great for an overnight. You can tell the owners have a lot of pride in their park. We just stayed in a pull-through and didn't unhook. Park is very clean and well kept. Has a putt putt course, which was very cute. Nice personnel in the office. Not much around there, but great if you're passing through. Would stay here again. - medpro
Sep 2014 - $28.00
Easy access just off Hwy 54 just east of Hwy 61. Nice grounds that were very level. No picnic tables or fire rings onsite. Have to use the tables and fire ring in the central pavilion. No Verizon wireless reception. Sprint wireless is functional. WiFi limited with no broadband access. Park lost power in the a.m. and we pulled out before it was restored. We stay here again for a night while traveling through but would keep it a short stay. - ArmyColonel
Jun 2016 - $34.00
In a nutshell, stay away. If we could give this place a zero we would do so. The bathrooms are beyond filthy, mold appears to be growing on the shower stall benches, trash everywhere. The ground around our campsite was littered with cigarette butts. The buildings and all infrastructure look like they have had no maintenance in years. The "locals" or weekenders were very unfriendly; in fact scary.
It's very unfortunate as the place looks like it may have been decent at one point many years ago. We found the place in an older Good Sam book but the campground was no longer affiliated with Good Sam so there was no discount available.
If visiting the Hannibal area for the Mark Twain historical features find another campground for your stay. We booked two nights but left after staying only one night. - RalphB3
Jun 2015 - $31.00
The lady checking us in was helpful, efficient and knowledgeable about the area.
The campground is old and dirty. Sites were not level, muddy and sewer connection broken.
Appears to be mostly full time residence that do not seem to take any pride in their site. Junk laying all around. Will not come back. - Stockmk
Jul 2014 - $35.00
Worst campground ever! First of all, the campground is not marked, coming from Hannibal. We drove right past it. When we arrived, there is a window/ac unit boarded up with plywood. Not even new plywood, that looks like an accident or breakage recently happened, rotted on the bottom plywood. We arrived at 3pm the afternoon on a FRIDAY , and had to call a phone number listed on the door for help. When we finally arrived at our site and set up, the were so many dogs barking it sounded like we were at the humane society. We have a 32 foot 5th wheel, and had to park the truck on the gravel street, as there wasn't enough room to actually park at the site. We could not find the restaurant/lounge that was listed on the website. The was ice and firewood only at the "general store". The camper across from us, was a permanent site and the camper was finished off with plywood. Batting cages actually worked, but was really old. The kids tried to go to the store several times to get quarters, there wasn't anyone there. Pool is very small , kids didn't stay in it long, they said it smelled funny. My husband used the restroom once, said it smelled like urine and there was nothing in there to wash his hands with. We couldn't get out of there fast enough! - Hilgirl
Jul 2016 - $32.00
This campground needs work. Roads are dirt and rutted with pot holes. Lots of low hanging tree limbs. Pull thru sites are in the sun and are very close together. Picnic tables are close to the sewer connections. Good electric and water pressure. A good base camp for sightseeing. I stayed 2 days. I would stay here again. - camper19709
May 2016 - $32.00
First time here and was anxious to see the cave and check out the winery. Both the winery and cave were worth the visit. The RV park on the other hand could use some work. Roads were riddled with potholes and mud, tree branches were hanging low in the back part of the park where they put me, "section D". I asked the front desk if they could cut the low hanging branches so that it would not scratch my coach and others that would follow behind me. And they did not. I asked them to cut the branches twice. The day I arrived and the day that I departed. I had to drive the wrong way in the park and back down roads to get to my site without striking tree limbs. Some tree branches were within me touching them with me standing on my tip toes. Other than the fear of scratching my rig it was quiet and peaceful. Good water pressure and electric. - DonGott
Apr 2016 - $32.00
Beautiful park setting. Site was nice & long plus level.
Roads were narrow with tight turns. Roads also were rutted & potholed, definitely need some repairs. - Our-Wandering-Casa
Aug 2015 - $13.00
This review covers two areas of this 'resort'. Up on the hill are the member amenities and are very attractive. Large pool and lounge area, snack bar and laundry room (the laundry is only 2 washers and 2 dryers!), a large clubhouse, which we did not enter, and a small lake with canoe and paddle boat rentals. There are also condo type swellings for members to reserve. The RV area is a very sorry excuse for an RV park.
Though we had requested 50 amp on our reservation and paid extra for it, we had to take a 30 amp space since none were available that had 50 amp. All sites were weed filled and hadn't seen a mower in a few weeks. Sewer hook up was a long run to the back of the site. There were two sites that were not useable since there was evidence of work on the utilities and the turned up soil had not been smoothed out and was very muddy where your tow or toad would park. The hosts never came by our site, not even to say hello! Would not stay here again. It is definitely a sows ear in a silk purse! - Rick & Karen
May 2014 - $3.00
Rate is RPI Preferred. Th park also accepts Coast-to-Coast and AOR. Private membership resort but open to public. Very nice large park out in the woods with nice lake but 20 miles to a small town. Don’t use GPS for directions. There are pull-through and back-in sites, all long, wide, and level. All sites have grass areas, table and fire ring. Most have large shade trees. Very nice resort with rental condos, large lake, acres of manicured grass, pool, spa, mini golf and snack bar open during the season. Large open air pavilion and clean laundry. Only 1-2 bars Verizon signal and no campground Wi-Fi. Many open sites good for satellite. No cable but TV antenna signal OK. Office staff friendly and helpful. Not busy at all and only full on holiday weekends. Would stay there again. Would rate it 10 if had Wi-Fi. - Pepper Dan
Jul 2013 - $15.00
This resort is very isolated, as mentioned before. We were here for 7 nights and there were only a few of us in the RV park except over the weekend when there were a few more RV's. The area was quiet and peaceful, which we appreciated. We enjoyed the small town of Clarksville & talked to many of the artisans as well as went to the Chili Cook-off. We visited some surrounding towns including Louisiana. There's a great pewter shop there. We took a day trip to Hannibal & Bowling green but there really isn't much to do in the area near the resort. The resort itself doesn't look like it's thriving but it is well kept. I loved walking my dog there since it wasn't crowded & the resort is very large with plenty of walking space. Too bad the restaurant & winery aren't open but the pool was busy & there were daily activities for the kids posted at the pool. The sites were gravel and level. We got to pick whichever site we wanted & were able to get sewer & 50 amp service. Satellite worked well and Verizon air card worked but it was slow. We would come back again for a few days but not too long as there just isn't enough in the area to keep us busy. Price is Coast to Coast. - Danni
Oct 2011 - $25.00
We came across the little park while visiting Louisiana, Mo. It is located behind Izola's Place a little restaurant at 401 S. 3rd st. They only have 30 amp electrical hook ups, water, and sewer. They have no restrooms or showers so you have to use yours. They only have 8 or 9 sites. This was constructed for the works when they were putting a pipe line through the area. It is located close to the center of town and is not listed anywhere else on the internet. We did not stay here but felt it would be good to know about. The sites are road base and look pretty level. So if you're in the area and the place up the road in Bowling Green is booked up here's a back up. By the way the kitchen in the restaurant was spotless and the menu looked good. - pumper9x9
Jul 2014 - $12.00
We've spent a lot of time here. Heavily wooded and off the beaten trail. Two campgrounds with playgrounds for the kids. Not full hookup, but does have a dump station. Very clean, and the ranger is very friendly. - AdamBryner
