5 Parks near Mindenmines, Missouri
Apr 2013 - $13.00
This State Park is remote. It had 4 camp sites 2 of which were in the making. There was nothing there except shade, a small stream and lots of hiking trails, a nature lover's delight, quiet and peaceful. Toilets were pit toilets a quarter mile walk away to the parking area at the trail head. If you have a motor home 24 feet or smaller you will be okay. Maybe a small trailer would also, but otherwise not good. A camper van fine. The ranger guy was weird and acted as if my being there was a bother to him. No personality, very dull and stand-offish. The woman in the office seemed intimidated by him and kept quiet. Very bad vibes. I would not go back there. - Traveler John
Jul 2015 - $20.00
Spiffed up about 3 or 4 years ago. New showerhouse/restroom building with 2 generic stalls. It's starting to show it's age and use by folks that could care less about it. Was a bit dirty and buggy inside, but everything worked as it should.
Has 50/30/20 amp electrical pedestals in good shape. All sites are paved and fairly level. Water spigots are shared between 2 sites, 2 outlets per spigot.
Great dump station setup but might be a little tight turning for larger trailers, (as is the entrance to the park). Fairly quiet in the evening and overnight, but gets noisy about 6am from traffic. - bobojay
Aug 2013 - $20.00
The June 2008 review is what I would say; we also have been coming here for many years and seen it progress. It now has 50-amp power, a picnic shelter, new picnic tables, and added a small bath house (two rooms, each with a toilet, lavatory, and a shower.) - carderh
Sep 2012 - $20.00
Good spot if you need to be in Pittsburg. Only one other rig when we were there and then just one of the nights. Big paved lot and private with woods behind with a mobile home sales lot across the street. Some road noise to the north, else all quiet and peaceful. Totally open, no shade, but great for satellite dishes. No restrooms. You must be self-contained. Dump available and it is included in fee. - pubtopoub
Aug 2015 - $19.00
Beautiful park built by the CCC, we camped mid week and the campground was not full. No maps were available and it took time to locate where everything was located. There is a road that goes completely around the lake and campsites are spread out. Sites with electric only (no water) are on the side of the campground road closest to the lake, sites with electric and water on the opposite side.
We camped in Rocky Cove and there was no bathroom in the campground so you would have to walk or drive a short distance to Oak Point to get to them. Showers were OK, showing some wear and faucets were broken in some stalls. - Ocotillo
Jun 2013 - $18.00
Nice state park. Well shaded spot. We were on a double concrete pad. - redavis
Jul 2011 - $22.00
We were pleasantly surprised when we found this campground. This state park has ample tall shade trees for each site. Most sites also had concrete pads (newer sites in the park). Larger rigs will have problems here because of the site set up. We have a 32 foot travel trailer and had to move slowly. Overall, a very nice find in the middle of nowhere. - Mason Family
Jan 2017 - $1.00
This is a smaller park just off RT 66. Park has super long pull thru sites I believe over 100ft and some large back in sites. The bath house and laundry area is the cleanest I have seen at an RV park. As we are here in winter we have not used pool, but area looks nice. Every area is well kept. The staff is amazingly helpful and nice. They are always there for anything you need. We are staying monthly and electric is included in the monthly price. There is decent space between sites and a couple grassy fields around the park. Very close to Joplin and Carthage. - R J C
Dec 2016 - $30.00
Previous reviews showed $20 price, which attracted us. That's actually the FMCA rate. Their standard rate is $35, but the owner discounted $5 for me being retired military. Relatively new park, very clean, owner was super helpful and talked a lot about the history of the place. It's literally on the old Route 66 highway. She's got big plans for developing the park and we'd love to stay there again after those plans are fulfilled. Compared to what we read about other parks in the area, the standard rate is overpriced for what the park is right now, unless you're using the FMCA discount. However, if making a new friend in the RV community has value to you, come on and join us there.
When we drove in, we didn't even have to drop our levelers. Very nice. Bathhouse and pool area were beautifully landscaped.
While there was no specific pet area, there are large grassy areas in which to walk your dog. Owner is considering adding a store to sell artisan & food goods, like one of our other favorite campgrounds. She also has two books for sale, written by a fellow who grew up on the property when his family raised chickens there a few decades ago.
We'd stay there again - with a current FMCA membership! - Dobiedaddy
Oct 2016 - $20.00
Nice New campground on Route 66, just out of Carthage towards Joplin. Owners very friendly and helpful with guidance on the highlights of the community. Showers and laundry room brand new, front load washers worked great, only $2. Sites are really long, lots of grass between sites, all pull throughs. New pool looked inviting. No picnic tables yet, but they have started from scratch and doing everything right. Plenty of good dog walking on surrounding country roads. - sam and hope
Apr 2015 - $20.00
This is a clean park with traffic noise and train noise.
Sites are wide, near-level grass and gravel, in various lengths. A few have shade or picnic tables. Voltage is good.
Roads are gravel in very good condition.
Verizon LTE works well.
There are strong terrestrial broadcast signals from ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, and PBS.
No rest rooms, showers, WiFi, cable, laundry, or credit cards. - wjzcbn
Aug 2010 - $18.00
