We had a great time at Mark Twain Landing. It's very family oriented. There were many activities for my toddler to participate in. We didn't get a chance to go to the water park but we plan on coming back very soon and will check out the water park next time. There are lots of full-timers living here. They're all friendly and there's a real sense of community. Besides the RV spaces, there's tent camping, condos, cabins and more. We were given a schedule of weekend activities when we checked in. There were kids crafts, water wars trolley rides, kid and adult karaoke, outdoor kids movies and more. There's also a great play place for the kids. The staff was very helpful. The restaurant is nice but has a very basic menu. Some of the facilities are dated, but they're working on all of that. For instance, there's a mini-golf course on site that's a little neglected. The upside is they let you play for free, at least until they get it refurbished. There's also a defunct go-cart track on site. I don't know if there are plans to ever use it again. We really did have a great time and my SO mentioned it would be a great place to head "every weekend" if we started keeping the camper somewhere besides home. Golf carts are available for rental. We didn't need one. Our site (102) was fine but nothing special. Nice level concrete pad though. The only weirdness about the site was sharing the water connection with my neighbor. Bring lots of hose. The sewer is the screw in type, make sure you have an adapter. Besides the water, all hookups were at the very back of the site. My 25ft coax cable wasn't long enough. Lots of shade on most sites. Be careful driving through, there are tons of kids on bikes, people walking and golf-carts on the streets. We camped at Mark Twain Landing in a Travel Trailer.

The price posted is a PA price per night. We stayed 2 nights. I would have given a 10 except that the site we were in had serious leveling issues. Most in the row did. Seems PA people are put in the very very last row. There are lots of sites and a large variety of cabins in variety of sizes. Nice park with allow you to stay Sunday-Thursday on Passport America 50% off. Nice park. Well kept, nice grass, tables, patios and firepits. If you have kiddies, you can buy them a combo pass to the big waterpark they also own. There theme is turtles. Cute turtle figures all around. We had no problem with Sat dish. We didn't use their wifi. Give you codes for 2 units only. Shared water line...so for one it is on drivers side and for other it is on passenger side. Makes inconvenient for the person with passenger side to run long line and it sets near front of RV. Would stay again if in area. We camped at Mark Twain Landing in a Motorhome.

Nice place. Appears to be one of those parks that sells the space but did not confirm. Beautiful park to walk through. Very quiet while we were there but I'm betting it's moving in the summer! Satellite hooked up and good Verizon. Restaurant on the grounds but we did not try. Great stop and chose Mark Twain Landing based on RV Park Reviews and glad we did. Tips for other Campers:

It's an easy trip to Hannibal for all things Mark Twain. We devoted a day to Hannibal and covered all the Mark Twain associated tour buildings including the museum. Drove up to Lovers leap, you have to, right? Toured the Rockcliffe Mansion that was surprising worth the effort.

Overall Rating:

The road in to the entrance - Hwy J - is a narrow two-lane road so take it easy. The roads in the park are narrow but doable - some of the trees to our site were a little low. This is a large campground with over 200 sites. They have tent sites, cabins and condos along with trailer sites. Two catch and release ponds, playgrounds, swimming pool, putt-putt golf and a restaurant that serves pizza and wings. Check in was fast and friendly and the store has your basic needs for camping and food and drinks. We were in site 187 which has some trees for shade in the morning and the camper next to you is down a little hill so you have some privacy. Sites are cement and level with grass, picnic table and fire pit. We had full hook ups but the water connect is on the wrong side of the camper, a good 50-feet away. We were not told this in advance but luckily we had enough hose. WiFi was not very good, our Verizon signal was strong. We stayed one night June 22, 2017 and paid $28.24 with our Passport America discount. We camped at Mark Twain Landing in a Motorhome.

Nice campground. The 1st site they gave us was in the full sun so we asked if we could move to a shady site. They gladly let us move. Everyone was very friendly. The restrooms and showers are clean and nice. The laundry room is large but one of the washers didn't work very well. Would stay here again. We camped at Mark Twain Landing in a Motorhome.

As previously said, most folks in here are seasonal, but well kept. We stayed only a couple nights on our way through and didn't use the store, showers, etc. Seems nice, well managed and very friendly staff were helpful upon check-in. We'd stay here again without hesitation. We camped at Mark Twain Landing in a Fifth Wheel.

Vast majority of sites appear to be seasonal/permanent. All back-in sites are on the blind side. Some sites are easier to back into than others. Cable worked well. WiFi was o.k. for email and Facebook. No fenced dog area. Concrete pad was long enough for my 6-pt level up, and my long bed truck still fit within the driveway. Stayed overnight on trip home. Been here before and it is a very well run park. Our site was a pull thru and very level. Had 50 amp, water and cable. Did not use Wi-Fi, used our hot spot. It is early in season but they have lots of things for the kids with a water park at the entrance. I would recommend this campground. We camped at Mark Twain Landing in a Motorhome.

This is a very large campground. There are many sites for average size campers and a few sites for the bigger ones that need pull-throughs. We stayed over Labor Day weekend so of course it was full and very busy. You can rent golf carts to get around the park if you choose but to guarantee you have one, reserve it when you make your reservations. The owners were very friendly and readily available even with the huge crowd. All employees were very helpful, also. The only things close to do are fishing and boating, or there is a water park adjacent to the campground. There is only one area to dump your trash and it is clear up by the main office. It would be nice if they had a few areas throughout the campground since it is quite large. Be advised, there is very little shade. Appears that the most shade is where the permanent campers stay. There seems to be quite a few of these. If you are in the area and like to fish, boat, or go to water parks, this is a good place to stay. We camped at Mark Twain Landing in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park next to large water park and lake complex. This stay was over the 4th of July and it was a very good experience. I highly recommend this park for everyone, especially those with kids. Everyone well behaved even over the 4th's celebration. The campground has a convenience store and snack bar. There is an arcade which would appeal to younger kids. The water park is a short walk from the campground entrance and appeared to be busy. The menu at it's snack bar was more extensive. A very nice place to spend a relaxing weekend or more. We definitely will stay here again. We camped at Mark Twain Landing in a Motorhome.
