We were here one night and were the only RV. The park is difficult to find; our GPS could not find it. Finally found a cop who gave good directions. Also, the staff was impossible to find; never saw a live body other than a few tent campers. Called the number on the website and always got voice mail but no callback. Finally sent email and did get response but it may have been automatic. When we left, put cash in an envelope and dropped it in a slot. This campground may be fine in summer when the Katy Trail is busy and it was fine for a one nighter but we probably would not stay here again. We camped at Katy Roundhouse in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

We camp here when we ride the Katy Trail. The park is clean and the sites are pretty level. There are some sites with shade trees and there is plenty of room for your slides. We travel with our 2 dogs so having the trail right there is a plus for taking walks. Booneville is only 2 miles away so you can get supplies, gas, and a good meal. We arrived on a Sunday and were told they were filled the two nights before. I think the place could be pretty wild when filled. Fortunately cyclists usually have a full day coming and going so may be they quiet down. There were 5-6 other campers present, the RV's are separated from the tents who are usually on bicycle. The bathroom is a cinder block building with painted walls are bare concrete floors. The showers were hot and seemingly unlimited, the dressing area was adequate. For a cyclist at the end of a long day this is antiquate. For a family camping this is poor. The biggest thing to be aware of is there are virtually no services available nearby. The town of New Franklin has a Casey's Gas Station for supplies. Finding even the most basic supplies maybe a treasure hunt. I do not believe there is an eating establishment (aside from the depot - open on weekends) nearby. The RV sites are pull through and in rows with close neighborly contact. Full hookups and very level gravel drives. If you are looking to cycle the Katy Trail this is a great location. The section 20 miles east of the campground is very nice. This is a quiet, secluded, nice little park. We got a spot that was level, but the water faucet leaked bad. We never saw anyone to tell, so left a note. I would of given a higher score and it is not the fault of the park but, there were stray dogs running through, we didn't feel safe walking our dog around. The City of New Franklin needs to address the dogs, and the construction on highway 5 gave us a one way lane road with two way traffic. Construction should be done by the end of MAY. Very clean and quiet park. The roads are narrow and the trees are close if you have a big or long rig. Very peaceful place. Nice people. It was about 6 miles off the Interstate. You need to follow the directions on the website closely. We did a fair amount of GeoCaching in the area. Got to see a lot of the Missouri River. Going South back into Boonville is a speed trap. Coming off the bridge, the speed limit goes from 50 to 20. All the local traffic knows about this and slows down coming off the bridge. We camped at Katy Roundhouse in a Travel Trailer.Undo

A very nice CG away from all road noises! Nice owners, very peaceful, a good quiet night's sleep! If you want a serene experience and not a bunch of amenities, you will enjoy this. We will return and will recommend to others We camped at Katy Roundhouse in a Travel Trailer.Undo

This is a great little find, especially if you are biking on the Katy Trail. Only 3 miles from the casino in Boonville. We've been to this park a couple of times and enjoy it for something different. If you're looking for top-of-the-line RV park experience, this is not it. This is what I'd call a do-it-yourself campground. The owners are available if needed, but they both work full time and the office is not staffed all day. In fact, self check-in is the norm. It also has a wonderful display of railroad memorabilia, since this used to be the MKT railroad train yards for the area. The old round table is still there, though somewhat overgrown. We camp here, then ride the bike trail several miles up- and down- stream to wonderful Missouri River valley views. The campground is very quiet, last time there the coyotes they were a howling!! We will return a couple of times a year. For those traveling through, it's worth the 5 or 6 miles off I-70 you have to go to get there. We camped at Katy Roundhouse in a Fifth Wheel.Undo
