8 Parks near Odessa, Missouri
Jul 2016 - $34.00
Great owners and store up front with lots of goodies. Our site was very long but too narrow - no room to sit outside. Utilities fine but wifi was as usual, poor. Over the air TV. Some long-term sites with all the "stuff" that goes with them. - padre
May 2016 - $18.00
Stayed a month for work purposes. The rate is a monthly rate including electric @18.00 per day. Very nice staff and store. Didn't use the bathrooms but the laundry room was nice. Very quiet CG. Just right for me. I would have rated Country Gardens higher but the WiFi was very spotty which caused some frustration when trying to work. - rskrbina
May 2016 - $36.00
What a great little park. The road noise is not too bad because the site is behind a building. The concrete pads are level. The owner is extremely nice. The cleanest shower & bath I think I've ever seen and a nice laundry. Country store in front with 200 plus cheeses, Amish foods, snacks, etc. Excellent hook up "house" by each site. I would definitely stay again. Class A, 35', towing a car. - DBKings
May 2009 - $10.00
OK, admittedly the park was officially open on 1 May and we pulled in on 2 May but our stay in this park lasted 10 minutes compared to about an hours worth of driving once we left the interstate. Reason, their directions are not correct (even as confirmed over the phone) and their address we learned doesn't show up on either of our 2 GPS units because it's a street address they made up. Getting to the park was over some really bad, pot hole filled roads out in the middle of nowhere. Sure they say they had recently had heavy rains but their roads in the park were dangerously rutted. The pull through site we were offered was just barely large enough for us and it would have been difficult to level our rig. The park gives the impression of being a permanent resident trailer park with mostly old and unsightly rigs. The park is selling lots/sites and the owners are supposed to maintain their lots but it appears they don't. The grass in those areas with grass was at least a foot high. The amenities they offer appear to be non functioning or non existent and a trip into town would be a long difficult drive. They offer no Wi-Fi and if they offered to pay our fee, we would not consider staying there. The signage to the park is only apparent when you get to the final turn off. Sorry to be so negative but this is one of the worst, most rundown parks we have ever visited - note we didn't stay for the night and just kissed off the non-refundable Coast to Coast fee. - 5thwheeler
Aug 2016 - $41.00
Upon arriving we noted that this was a "Holiday" level KOA and they had been awarded the 'Founders Achievement Award' for 2016. We thought this was going to be a good experience: how wrong we were!
We requested a site with no trees. When we checked in, we were escorted to our site which was a small forest. We requested another site but were told that's all there is and they would be glad to refund our money. It was late in the afternoon, I was ill and it was about to start raining. Where were we supposed to go?
The site was so out of level that it took us 90 minutes and lots of blocking to get our coach level. The utilities were so far apart that we couldn't hook up the sewer - even with an extension hose. Since there was a utility pole with a very large electrical panel next to us we couldn't extend out canopy. The guy wire for the power pole was only inches from our steps so we had to side step around it.
The wi-fi was useless. Most times we couldn't find it, if found we had a difficult time connecting, if connected it was painfully slow and we we're often knocked off.
Finally, the highway noise is very loud: even when inside the closed coach with the A/C running. - Rd yacht
Jun 2016 - $43.00
Definitely a "have/have not" campground. We were in the have not section with no trees at all, but the pull-thrus closer to the bathrooms and pool had beautiful huge trees to shade them.
They do have two wonderful pet runs and a huge grassy area for group tent camping (but no trees).
Insist on being near the bathrooms so you get a shaded spot. - Scldg
Jun 2016 - $30.00
This is a very clean, well organized park. We arrived without a reservation after leaving an unacceptable campground 40 miles away. We were treated nicely here and escorted to a lovely tent site. The pool was clean and delightful and the restrooms impeccable. - llamalady
Jul 2016 - $25.00
A vast park with long term and overnight sites. Back in's and pull thru's. My site was long enough to fit my 40' Class A and my 18' trailer still attached. The site was not real level, but I was able to level my rig enough for my needs. Sites are shaded, FHU, 30/50A services. No cable. OTA signals from Kansas available though. My site was close to one of the lakes so that I could see the local geese wander from lake to grass each morning and evening. The pool is about the size of two large olympic-sized pools!!! It has a gradual slope into the pool mimicking a beach, but it is pool surface, not sand. The pool surround needs some upkeep performed, so you are not permitted on the sides to be able to dice into the 9 foot deep end of the pool. There is a fee of $2.00/person/day for use of the pool from 11AM to 7PM daily. There is a mini-golf course that is also fee-based for $5.00/pair of players. The mini-golf course needs some upkeep and maintenance also, but it was still fun to play! The condition of the park is a state of upkeep and in need of maintenance. The location is convenient to Kansas City amenities and the Royals stadium. I would stay here again if in the area.
Sayid is the name of the host. He is very friendly but is overwhelmed with campground management. He escorts you to your camp site. - kihei7
Jun 2016 - $20.00
Don't attempt to access this park in a Class A motorhome or a big rig. It's quite a distance from the highway with low hanging branches. Campground is difficult to get into and to maneuver around. It's dusty. Sites are not level. I wouldn't classify this as a resort. - Sunshine Camper
May 2015 - $13.00
The lakeside spots are a bit tight but very nice and most have fresh gravel, level pads. Like may RPI Parks this has seen better days. But the owner is working hard to upgrade and spruce up for the season, but it has a ways to go. Biggest challenge is that it virtually no Verizon cell or Wi-Fi service. So, you are kind of out of touch. Not necessarily bad, depending on your needs. - MarkD
Aug 2016 - $30.00
Park had long, level sites. Seems to need some more gravel or grooming in sites and some roads - looks a little worn. Nice ponds you can fish in. Nice lady checking us in. Easy to get off and on I-70. - padre
Jun 2016 - $30.00
An overnight trip outside of Kansas City, MO was fine with us! The campground is nice, fairly clean with some amenities that our camping crew found useful! For starters, the showers were nice! I especially liked how it was nice to have your own little room, making it feel like you weren't actually in a public shower room. The pool and volleyball seemed nice, but we pulled in rather late, so really didn't use either one of them.
Wish we could have had more time to explore the campground, especially with the two ponds on site and the clubhouse. But again, fairly nice park and one that is great for an overnight trip - right off the highway and little to no traffic has been heard! Overall, I probably wouldn't stay here for an entire week, but nice enough for overnight. - crosscountrycollegian
May 2016 - $24.00
Easy access from I-70. Level pull-throughs. Good power. Good water pressure. Wi-Fi has a good signal. Friendly and helpful staff, even when we arrived late. - Treborw
Oct 2016 - $36.00
We have been coming to this park since 1991. This park is in the run down mode. We are in the long-term section. Some of the sites need to be cleaned up. A lot of trash. I notice there is no enforcement of picking up dog poo. Their roads with in the park that are paved need a lot of repair. Our site was large. We could park our tow vehicle next to our motor home with room to spare. Electricity was strong. Didn't try their WiFi we have our own. - Joceil
Sep 2015 - $31.00
Wonderful, very helpful and pleasant personnel. Easy access to site. Fairly level site.
The not so good:
Mediocre facilities. NOT a full hookup site for $31.00.
Directly next to I-70 with a decibel level somewhere in the MILLIONS!
(Okay, well the noise level felt like that!) - A Pseudonym
Sep 2015 - $31.00
We were very disappointed with this park, called and asked for a pull thru with full hookups, the person on the phone confirmed they had one available. When we arrived we were told that full hookups were for their monthly customers. We were given a spot that was so tight, we had to drive back around the park and come in from a different way. Our RV was parked across from a subdivision on one side and highway on the back side, it was noisy all night. For pet owners there is a pet restriction listed on the front door of the office. No dog over 75lbs and there are several breeds not allowed. I am not sure how Good Sam can list this campground with the high scores they have for them and would suggest that someone from Good Sam visit this campground. - thejones357
Sep 2016 - $28.00
If you use I-435 and I-470 to get to park be advised that they have heavy traffic during morning and evening rush hours. We arrived and were assigned a pull thru that "would be easy to level on". After 1/2 hour and using all my boards and leveling jacks I could not level coach and had to move to another site. Be advised this is a very nice park that the county owns/runs but why on earth would most sites not be close to level! Also a pet peeve of mine is when the sewer connection is 10" high off the ground. Why? - Michael Fiehler
Aug 2016 - $28.00
Nice park. Full hook-ups and price was great! Was safe and relaxing. Hosts where very nice and helpful. Was not hard to find. Many restaurants were within a few miles. Will stay again. - bradensouthcarolina
Aug 2016 - $28.00
What a gem! You are almost in the city, but feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful campground with level gravel sites that are specious and lots of grass. Full hookups. My wife keeps saying it looks like it is in the middle of a golf course! Camp host is readily available and helpful. We were going to just spend one night, but after setting up in our site we decided to stay an extra day and relax. Before pressing on. - Spizzer
Oct 2016 - $26.00
We camped here in a 45' motor home towing a Jeep. The interior roads are narrow, but there are no trees along the road, so doable. Because this is an older campground there are not a lot of sights for our size rig, thus I would suggest making a reservation as opposed to just showing up if you are long. The campground setting is beautiful rolling hills. There is tons to do in the campground park which is huge and is very convenient to all the Independence and KC attractions. - barbielab
Sep 2016 - $26.00
Beautiful park, beautiful site, very helpful campground hosts who made excellent suggestions on what to see, where to eat, etc. Dump station at exit. - ElsieS
Jun 2016 - $25.00
Laundry, bathrooms, and located next to a very large lake. No WiFi; cell phone service is available. Lots are pretty level for a state park. Each one has a curb in the back, which works excellent for your back jacks. Great for a overnight stop, 10 minutes off highway 70. Take second exit off 470 if coming from 70, its much more manageable. - SprintingAcrossAmerica
