7 Parks near Odessa, Missouri
Sep 2015 - $31.00
Wonderful, very helpful and pleasant personnel. Easy access to site. Fairly level site.
The not so good:
Mediocre facilities. NOT a full hookup site for $31.00.
Directly next to I-70 with a decibel level somewhere in the MILLIONS!
(Okay, well the noise level felt like that!) - A Pseudonym

We were very disappointed with this park, called and asked for a pull thru with full hookups, the person on the phone confirmed they had one available. When we arrived we were told that full hookups were for their monthly customers. We were given a spot that was so tight, we had to drive back around the park and come in from a different way. Our RV was parked across from a subdivision on one side and highway on the back side, it was noisy all night. For pet owners there is a pet restriction listed on the front door of the office. No dog over 75lbs and there are several breeds not allowed. I am not sure how Good Sam can list this campground with the high scores they have for them and would suggest that someone from Good Sam visit this campground. - thejones357
Aug 2015 - $34.00
Park is old, but clean. One side is full hookups, other side water/electric only. Restrooms clean/showers more than adequate. Almost didn't stay here due to bad reviews, but glad we did. Stayed 2 nights. - spdrlgs65
Jun 2016 - $30.00
An overnight trip outside of Kansas City, MO was fine with us! The campground is nice, fairly clean with some amenities that our camping crew found useful! For starters, the showers were nice! I especially liked how it was nice to have your own little room, making it feel like you weren't actually in a public shower room. The pool and volleyball seemed nice, but we pulled in rather late, so really didn't use either one of them.
Wish we could have had more time to explore the campground, especially with the two ponds on site and the clubhouse. But again, fairly nice park and one that is great for an overnight trip - right off the highway and little to no traffic has been heard! Overall, I probably wouldn't stay here for an entire week, but nice enough for overnight. - crosscountrycollegian

Easy access from I-70. Level pull-throughs. Good power. Good water pressure. Wi-Fi has a good signal. Friendly and helpful staff, even when we arrived late. - Treborw
Sep 2015 - $31.00
This wonderful campground is Big Rig friendly with easy access on and off I-70. The sites are big, level and spacious with easy turn into and turn out of sites. Many sites would fit our motorhome 90 foot requirement with plenty of breathing room. After a long and tiring day on the road you are greeted upon arrival with a friendly smile. The staff is extremely helpful at check-in and very knowlegable of the area. The campground sits in a country setting with lots of area for kids to roam and play. They are loaded with many amenities: beautiful salt water pool, large playground, horseshoes, volleyball, basketball, nice book exchange, nice large fenced in dog park, propane refueling and two large ponds for fishing and they are loaded with lots of fish. They have a nice big laundromat with very clean coin machines. The bath house is the cleanest I have seen!
They also have two large meeting rooms with kitchens which would accommodate large or small groups, reunions or rally's.
Two miles from the campground is a large Pilot gas station it is also at exit 49 and within 7 miles is a grocery store, many restaurants and Walmart.
The WiFi is exceptional and is always working. They do not have cable but I was able to get great satellite and cell phone reception is also great.
Don't miss this campground it far exceeded my expectations. While out exploring the area and seeing the sites I did come across another campground 10 miles down the road and decided to drive through. It was a major disappointment. The cost was nearly double what the Great Escape charges and the staff was very rude. Plus they did not offer all the amenities this campground offers. I am so glad I chose the Great Escape it is well worth it. - Chellie
Jun 2016 - $20.00
Don't attempt to access this park in a Class A motorhome or a big rig. It's quite a distance from the highway with low hanging branches. Campground is difficult to get into and to maneuver around. It's dusty. Sites are not level. I wouldn't classify this as a resort. - Sunshine Camper
May 2015 - $13.00
The lakeside spots are a bit tight but very nice and most have fresh gravel, level pads. Like may RPI Parks this has seen better days. But the owner is working hard to upgrade and spruce up for the season, but it has a ways to go. Biggest challenge is that it virtually no Verizon cell or Wi-Fi service. So, you are kind of out of touch. Not necessarily bad, depending on your needs. - MarkD
Oct 2014 - $13.00
Rate reflects RPI membership. GPS directs you on a dirt road or tells you to turn wrong. Follow directions on website. Roads inside are gravel. Some are in need of repair. Our site was right on one of the lakes. There's a lot of sites in different sections. We didn't see them all. Our section was populated by permanent residents. But there were some passing through as we were. Also some seasonal trailers. The sites are close but I did feel as though we had privacy. The site was gravel with grass and trees. No cable, but had antenna and could set up the satellite. Wi-Fi good. Verizon off and on. Utilities good. Great water pressure (we have a built in water pressure regulator). Not far from Kansas City or Independence. About a 10 minutes to a small grocery. 20 minutes minimum to a large one. Since it wasn't season, no activities other than fishing. Not sure we'd be back. - jcpjane
Jun 2016 - $43.00
Definitely a "have/have not" campground. We were in the have not section with no trees at all, but the pull-thrus closer to the bathrooms and pool had beautiful huge trees to shade them.
They do have two wonderful pet runs and a huge grassy area for group tent camping (but no trees).
Insist on being near the bathrooms so you get a shaded spot. - Scldg
Jun 2016 - $30.00
This is a very clean, well organized park. We arrived without a reservation after leaving an unacceptable campground 40 miles away. We were treated nicely here and escorted to a lovely tent site. The pool was clean and delightful and the restrooms impeccable. - llamalady
Jun 2016 - $43.00
Minimal leveling required at site. Utility setup really close to neighbor making your own site smaller/disrupted by utilities. Nice group camping area. Nice dog runs. Low water pressure from shower heads. Our site is for a motorhome towing car. To leave our site in toad, you have to back up passed 4 sites due to layout of sites. - Ms Winnie
Jul 2016 - $30.00
Super friendly camp hosts! Many of the sites are pull through, and we had a lake view from ours (28, 30 also has a nice view). Huge sites, lots of room between them, a nice playground for the kids and tons of grassy area to run and play. - A_GF_Mom
May 2016 - $28.00
Price reflects senior rate for a fhu back in gravel site. County park is gated with a security code. Sites are spacious and the setting is serene although the park is located well within the city. A few sites have lake views and many are not very level. Roof top satellite reception can be a problem with some sites. Verizon works well. Restaurants and shopping are available within a few miles. Late check outs until 3 pm so you won't want to arrive too early. Stay is limited to 14 days. We will stay again. - BigRigTravelerUSA
May 2016 - $30.00
One of our favorite camping areas. Large sites with privacy to allow sitting out in comfort. Few full hook up 50 amp sites so book early. Playgrounds and places to walk the pups. - User1308
Jun 2016 - $25.00
Laundry, bathrooms, and located next to a very large lake. No WiFi; cell phone service is available. Lots are pretty level for a state park. Each one has a curb in the back, which works excellent for your back jacks. Great for a overnight stop, 10 minutes off highway 70. Take second exit off 470 if coming from 70, its much more manageable. - SprintingAcrossAmerica
Jun 2016 - $28.00
This is a good overnight stop. There are no amenities although they do have one washer and one dryer. It is being well maintained.
This park is easy to get to if you know where you are going. It is actually on Campground Road in Lee's Summit and the sign is so tiny you could easily miss the turn. - Esse
Oct 2015 - $24.00
We recommend this campground to either visit the Kansas City area or as a good place for a one night stop as you drive through the area. There is a good assortment of sites with various hook up options. Sites are well spaced, gravel, but many required leveling. Camp hosts very friendly and offered suggestions on places to visit. Grounds kept clean and well maintained. Campground has security gate to reduce non-campers from driving through the area. - linnemj
Jul 2016 - $34.00
Great owners and store up front with lots of goodies. Our site was very long but too narrow - no room to sit outside. Utilities fine but wifi was as usual, poor. Over the air TV. Some long-term sites with all the "stuff" that goes with them. - padre
May 2016 - $18.00
Stayed a month for work purposes. The rate is a monthly rate including electric @18.00 per day. Very nice staff and store. Didn't use the bathrooms but the laundry room was nice. Very quiet CG. Just right for me. I would have rated Country Gardens higher but the WiFi was very spotty which caused some frustration when trying to work. - rskrbina
May 2016 - $36.00
What a great little park. The road noise is not too bad because the site is behind a building. The concrete pads are level. The owner is extremely nice. The cleanest shower & bath I think I've ever seen and a nice laundry. Country store in front with 200 plus cheeses, Amish foods, snacks, etc. Excellent hook up "house" by each site. I would definitely stay again. Class A, 35', towing a car. - DBKings
