11 Parks near Peculiar, Missouri
Aug 2016 - $31.00
This is a nice park just off I-49. The owner was very nice. He would have taken us to our site but we arrived during the lunch hour and he was the only one there. Finding the site on our own was really easy anyway. The park is very clean with smooth rock roads. Sites are rock and most are fairly level. We just overnighted here so I can't comment on the restrooms and showers. This is a cash or check only park. No cards. We will definitely stay here again when through this area. - bb6306
Jul 2016 - $29.00
I put "none available" for bathrooms/showers because no where on the map could we find any. We walked all around in the evening, but could not find any. We did read somewhere that there was one, but it required a fee.
The sites were easy to get into, though ours needed leveling (gravel). Staff was very friendly and accommodating (though we should have asked about bathrooms & showers). We did need to write a check, but for that small price, we gladly did! - Martin and Beth
Jul 2016 - $31.00
We have stayed in this park several times in the past. The park is clean and well kept. Services were all spot on with escort to your site. We had a patio site with a patio table. Pull thru site plenty long for 40 foot coach and toad without unhooking. - roaming around
Sep 2016 - $28.00
Gravel site, FHU, fire pit & picnic table. No WiFi. Gated with code. Camp hosts very friendly. - TN_VolsFan
Sep 2016 - $23.00
Our campsite was not level but was easily corrected using blocks.
Our site had cigarette butts strewn about everywhere and there was a firepit full of partially burned trash.
The bathrooms and showers were not clean and there were webs with spiders and egg sacs everywhere.
The actual grounds of the campground were nice. There is so much potential if it were clean. - Mountainseeker
Jul 2016 - $30.00
Sites were very spacious, with no trees which made for good OTA (over the air) channels or satellite reception. Beach was on the other side of the lake which is about a 20 minute drive and it closes early! We arrived on a Sunday afternoon so the campground was not very busy. Check in staff was very friendly. Firewood and ice are available at check in. - Fun finders
Sep 2016 - $28.00
If you use I-435 and I-470 to get to park be advised that they have heavy traffic during morning and evening rush hours. We arrived and were assigned a pull thru that "would be easy to level on". After 1/2 hour and using all my boards and leveling jacks I could not level coach and had to move to another site. Be advised this is a very nice park that the county owns/runs but why on earth would most sites not be close to level! Also a pet peeve of mine is when the sewer connection is 10" high off the ground. Why? - Michael Fiehler
Aug 2016 - $28.00
Nice park. Full hook-ups and price was great! Was safe and relaxing. Hosts where very nice and helpful. Was not hard to find. Many restaurants were within a few miles. Will stay again. - bradensouthcarolina
Aug 2016 - $28.00
What a gem! You are almost in the city, but feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful campground with level gravel sites that are specious and lots of grass. Full hookups. My wife keeps saying it looks like it is in the middle of a golf course! Camp host is readily available and helpful. We were going to just spend one night, but after setting up in our site we decided to stay an extra day and relax. Before pressing on. - Spizzer
Sep 2016 - $18.00
We have stayed with there for the last five years during the summer. Things have changed, and not for the best. The Opry has closed. We requested our usual site, and was told things have changed. Our usual overlooking of the pond, the horses, was left open and we were left with a view of the gravel, other rigs and the dust. It seems that if you aren't in the click, you are left holding the bag. Rules are left to the ownership, I found the park receptionist had her dog in the office, a strict violation of the rules. We only had 3 washers for most of the summer until my wife leveled one of them. We travel with a dog, and are courteous to others to pick up our waste. We had to ask to have the dog waste be emptied and it took nearly 3 weeks before it was. I usually don't burn bridges, but feel this park has become to expensive for what is offered. The final straw was when they came to our site and put on a water meter. Ownership complains to much as to what things are costing them, and that should not be disseminated to the residents. I feel as they are getting ready to jack up the prices again. This all started after they purchased a $300k rig and parked it so we all could see. When we started staying here it was $440 month, it is now over $500. With the addition of the new parks in Hillsdale, I feel we will not be coming back. I really liked ownership guess they didn't like me. - Butcherboy13
Aug 2016 - $32.00
We called on Sunday morning to make a reservation, the answering machine told you to leave a message they would call back as soon as possible. Nobody called us back until we arrived to the campground.
There was a sign which told us to pick an empty site and come to the office on the next day.
The campground was not nice but OK. The site was gravel, pretty level with a little bit grass on the side.
The showers and the restrooms were locked with a keypad, and I have to ask another guest for the combination.
The toilets and showers were very old and completely dirty. They look like nobody cleans this room for a couple of days.
I visit the office the next day to complete the registration and my payment, and told the owner about the dirty showers and toilets. The answer was that they clean the facilities every Monday and Friday.
To clean campground showers and toilets only two times a week is disgusting!!! - Columbus
May 2016 - $32.00
We requested a pull thru, but none were available when we arrived, so we ended up in a spacious back in, which had a lot of maneuvering room. All hook ups worked well, internet was just ok. The park is in a rural location, with a couple of towns nearby for supplies . Very quiet at night. The front looks like an old western town, pretty neat. There is a lake for fishing in the park. - ronboett
Oct 2016 - $26.00
We camped here in a 45' motor home towing a Jeep. The interior roads are narrow, but there are no trees along the road, so doable. Because this is an older campground there are not a lot of sights for our size rig, thus I would suggest making a reservation as opposed to just showing up if you are long. The campground setting is beautiful rolling hills. There is tons to do in the campground park which is huge and is very convenient to all the Independence and KC attractions. - barbielab
Sep 2016 - $26.00
Beautiful park, beautiful site, very helpful campground hosts who made excellent suggestions on what to see, where to eat, etc. Dump station at exit. - ElsieS
Jun 2016 - $25.00
Laundry, bathrooms, and located next to a very large lake. No WiFi; cell phone service is available. Lots are pretty level for a state park. Each one has a curb in the back, which works excellent for your back jacks. Great for a overnight stop, 10 minutes off highway 70. Take second exit off 470 if coming from 70, its much more manageable. - SprintingAcrossAmerica
Aug 2016 - $30.00
After staying here for two nights, I would have to say that Autumn Falls is more a mobile home park than a campground or RV park. There are about 40 sites, most of which are used by mobile homes, but a few vacant spaces spread through out the park are used to park RV's. There are no amenities at all; you get a concrete pad between two mobile homes with utilities to park your rig. So if that's all you need, this isn't a bad place to stay. Our TT is 30 AMP but the power box was only 50 AMP so we needed an adaptor. It's only 7 blocks from the KC Royals and Saints stadiums, so it's perfect for sports enthusiasts. But, it's also right along Highway 40, which is very busy from 7AM until dark, then it quiets down a bit. However, I must say that the owner keeps the park in amazing condition. It was very clean, the grass was cut, and there was no junk lying around. He definitely went to the head of the customer service class; I wish more in his position would be just like him. - Love To Travel 2
Jul 2016 - $20.00
The manager is the nicest ever of any park in the world! When I pulled in he guided me to the RV site. OK, not unusual, however, he then proceed to do all the hookups--water, electric, and sewer! I can't begin to state the many things that he did to make sure that our stay was pleasurable. He even drove me to a local car rental agency in his own vehicle. The site was level, paved, and all the hookups worked great. Also, the location is perfect, near Royals Stadium, I-70, and close to local restaurants and shopping. - chiro
Jun 2016 - $23.00
Stayed for 10 nights at Passport America rate. Mobile home park with RV spaces. Basic park with no amenities. 50amp service, water, and sewer all worked well. What made this park excellent was the great service by the owner/manager and the cleanliness of the park. Will stay here again if in the area. Parked second space from the highway and was not bothered by the road noise. - Pastor Bob
Jul 2016 - $25.00
A vast park with long term and overnight sites. Back in's and pull thru's. My site was long enough to fit my 40' Class A and my 18' trailer still attached. The site was not real level, but I was able to level my rig enough for my needs. Sites are shaded, FHU, 30/50A services. No cable. OTA signals from Kansas available though. My site was close to one of the lakes so that I could see the local geese wander from lake to grass each morning and evening. The pool is about the size of two large olympic-sized pools!!! It has a gradual slope into the pool mimicking a beach, but it is pool surface, not sand. The pool surround needs some upkeep performed, so you are not permitted on the sides to be able to dice into the 9 foot deep end of the pool. There is a fee of $2.00/person/day for use of the pool from 11AM to 7PM daily. There is a mini-golf course that is also fee-based for $5.00/pair of players. The mini-golf course needs some upkeep and maintenance also, but it was still fun to play! The condition of the park is a state of upkeep and in need of maintenance. The location is convenient to Kansas City amenities and the Royals stadium. I would stay here again if in the area.
Sayid is the name of the host. He is very friendly but is overwhelmed with campground management. He escorts you to your camp site. - kihei7
Jun 2016 - $20.00
Don't attempt to access this park in a Class A motorhome or a big rig. It's quite a distance from the highway with low hanging branches. Campground is difficult to get into and to maneuver around. It's dusty. Sites are not level. I wouldn't classify this as a resort. - Sunshine Camper
May 2015 - $13.00
The lakeside spots are a bit tight but very nice and most have fresh gravel, level pads. Like may RPI Parks this has seen better days. But the owner is working hard to upgrade and spruce up for the season, but it has a ways to go. Biggest challenge is that it virtually no Verizon cell or Wi-Fi service. So, you are kind of out of touch. Not necessarily bad, depending on your needs. - MarkD
Oct 2016 - $36.00
We have been coming to this park since 1991. This park is in the run down mode. We are in the long-term section. Some of the sites need to be cleaned up. A lot of trash. I notice there is no enforcement of picking up dog poo. Their roads with in the park that are paved need a lot of repair. Our site was large. We could park our tow vehicle next to our motor home with room to spare. Electricity was strong. Didn't try their WiFi we have our own. - Joceil
Sep 2015 - $31.00
Wonderful, very helpful and pleasant personnel. Easy access to site. Fairly level site.
The not so good:
Mediocre facilities. NOT a full hookup site for $31.00.
Directly next to I-70 with a decibel level somewhere in the MILLIONS!
(Okay, well the noise level felt like that!) - A Pseudonym
Sep 2015 - $31.00
We were very disappointed with this park, called and asked for a pull thru with full hookups, the person on the phone confirmed they had one available. When we arrived we were told that full hookups were for their monthly customers. We were given a spot that was so tight, we had to drive back around the park and come in from a different way. Our RV was parked across from a subdivision on one side and highway on the back side, it was noisy all night. For pet owners there is a pet restriction listed on the front door of the office. No dog over 75lbs and there are several breeds not allowed. I am not sure how Good Sam can list this campground with the high scores they have for them and would suggest that someone from Good Sam visit this campground. - thejones357
Jun 2016 - $30.00
The park is basically a parking lot. It is surrounded by trees, but units are jammed in very close together and many of them seemed permanent. It is about a mile off I-35. It wasn't pretty, but it served its purpose. All sites are back-in. We have a 24' class C and I wouldn't have wanted to drive anything bigger into this place. - suerover
Jun 2016 - $45.00
We were in a "premium" pull thru, which was the only available spot when I called 2 weeks. We were in town for a wedding and this is the only close rv park. Really not a "rv park" as we know them but very nice people. Lots of long term folks here. There are many trains rumbling through during the night. Easy to get to from I-35. - ontheroadmama
May 2016 - $36.00
The park is basic, with very few amenities. The park is very small, and the camping sites are close together. Although, we did navigate our site OK with a 34 foot fifth wheel. You have to walk a ways to find any grass for your pets. The office lady who checked us in and led us to our site was very friendly and helpful. Overall, we would probably not stay at this park again, although it was convenient to the Kansas City area attractions. - Krissy r
