Park is always busy so call ahead. We were put in a site with no sewer available. We were given the code to the private baths and there was a dump station. This is about the only park in this area. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a great RV park especially if you have dogs. The sites are gravel and ours was very level. Great for DishTV reception. The owners are friendly. It is an older RV park, but they have kept it up well. It is very clean. The sites have stone patios and concrete round tables. It is about 1/2 mile from the interstate, just far away enough to make the highway noise very faint. Bring your own grill. There is no enclosed dog park, but if you own dogs, here's the key. In the far corner of the RV park, closer to the interstate, there is a large fallow field the park owns. If you can trust your dogs not to run away, you can let them off leash there. There are benches alongside the field. My dogs had a blast chasing each other. If you don't want to let them off leash in the open, the jeep trail alongside the field makes a great place to walk dogs. It is also a great place to ride bikes. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Motorhome.

Good signage to get to the park. It's down a dead end road. Be careful of the narrow entrance and sharp rise in to the park. I scraped my tow bar going in. Only had water and electric. Convenient location for RV repairs, but if visiting KC again, would probably look elsewhere. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Big Biscuit at exit 167 was good. Walmart is just across the street from the restaurant.

Was not at all impressed with the park, the owner, or the maintenance people. Found them rude. Overall the park was good. But in middle of winter with park sewer and water frozen despite being wrapped you still have to pay extra to use the park restrooms. I feel that they do not maintain park systems and expect campers to do repairs for themselves, even though park equipment. Just was not impressed with the business and many many rules that just pop up. Not friendly We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a lovely RV park. I would give it a 10 if it had a fenced dog run. There are large grassy areas both in the park and adjacent to the park to walk the dogs. This park is right next to both a side road and the interstate so there is a lot of noise. The people in the office are amazing and worked very hard to accommodate our needs and desires. We were unable to check out on time and the office was very understanding. No extra charge for late check-out. THEY ONLY TAKE CASH OR CHECKS. The interior roads are easy to navigate with easy in and out. There is a fairly steep hill at the entrance. We've stayed here before and will be happy to return. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Very convenient to Interstate 49. Super friendly staff who were ready for us and guided us to our spot. Beautiful and maintained grounds. Good roads, gravel but maintained. Park is situated on the side of a hill but we had a nice level spot. It looks like they do a very good job situating the spots to be level. Our site did not have a sewer hook up but a very easy, convenient dump station on the way out of the park. We were in a 43 foot MH non-towing and fit just fine. We are not sure if there were spots where we wouldn't have to unhook or not so you might ask if you're towing. Great for an overnight and we would not hesitate to stay again. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Stayed overnight and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. This park is definitely on our repeat list. The whole staff was welcoming, friendly, and did everything they could to meet our needs. It's a great place to stop when visiting Kansas City; you're one mile off the interstate, but you can see the park from the US 71/I-49. There's a truck stop at the exit with a restaurant. All the spots appear very level, even though they're gravel. We had a picnic table, shade, and a very quiet area. Dog walking area is very nice too! Reservations are recommended. When I called, the lady said they were full, but worked things around to get us a space. She asked if we were Good Sam or military. When I told her "both", she immediately thanked me for my service. That meant a lot. My only criticism is the WiFi, which could've been a lot stronger. I kept getting bumped off after just a few minutes of email, making it impossible to work. With a stronger WiFi, I'd have rated this a 10. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for only two nights as we passed through headed for a long trip to do fall colors in N.E.. Friendly and professional staff, nice sized pull through, (our site lacked sewer but there is a dump station). Set in amongst the trees the pads are level and sufficiently wide/long to accommodate. Would stay here again. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here overnight while en route to central MO for fishing. We have stayed here several times because it is very handy to South KC and to I-49. We were able to get a site with only 24 hours' notice, but wonder if the park is filling up with more full-time residents, maybe making overnight stays more difficult. Grounds needed work. Tips for other Campers:

The park doesn't take credit cards - checks or cash acceptable. Casey's and Flying J for gas/snacks available at the exit intersection. Harrisonville is 5 miles away for WalMart, other restaurants.

Although it doesn't look like much from the highway, this is a very nice RV park. The front spots are pretty close together and plain, but the back area is shaded and very nice (but the back area sites do not have sewer.) We stayed for 3 weeks and paid for a month ($475) because it was cheaper than the weekly rate ($210). The ladies who worked in the front office were both very helpful and kind. The bathrooms are available for a charge for those in full-hookup sites, but are free for those in non-sewer sites. They were the cleanest I'd seen. They're private full baths (sink, shower, toilet) with keypad locks and a deadbolt. Verizon and T-Mobile signals were both great, and accessibility to the highway and Kansas City is easy. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Needed an overnight stop and this served our purpose. Mostly full-time residents, but the park is very well managed keeping it clean and well maintained. The owner checked us in, escorted us to our site and was very friendly. Wish the interior roads were paved to cut down on dust, but that is just me. Plenty of restaurants, stores and gas stations in the area if desired. Would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Its a nice, clean and quiet campground. With dog walk AREAS, yes, plural! Doggie bags and dump bucket. Folks were very nice, escorted us to our camp site via golf cart. Nicely landscaped, with benches and swings places to sit on the hill side and enjoy the view of I-49. Cute little gift shop in the office and a nice little rec. room. Walking trails and large enough space between camp sites. We had full hook up with 50 amp and pulll through big enough to accommodate our tow dolly and car. Laundry $1.50 wash and $1.50 dry. They are regular house sized washers and dryers. Trees in bloom and daffodils as well! Wifi was the best we have ever had at a campground. Only 9 rating as the gravel road was dusty and the few that did not obey speed limit made it dusty. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Motorhome.
