Really nice, clean park. Every site has a view. Sites were small but level. Campground was very full so had to take a spot without sewer hook up. Loved the trail and walked it every day. Staff was very helpful. Laundry reasonable - only $1.50 a load. Close to Kansas City. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Nice village park just down the road with a trail to the little Grand River. Lots of restaurants and flying J at the exit. If you need work done on your RV, Transwest is just up the road in Belton. Highly recommended. Very professional.

This is a pleasantly, dare I say, peculiar park. Internal navigation in some areas was difficult, as the park is designed on a hilly site. Our rig is 43 feet long, so that is some of the issue. Staff changed our site when we had difficulty maneuvering the rig around the various piles of rocks, vehicles and permanent obstacles by our first site. This park is the opposite of a park in an open field. Each site is different. The new area in the back (72-81) is lovely and seems to be fore long term campers. Much of the park is landscaped. It was early spring, but it needed a bit of work to reach peculiar perfection. Strangely there was only one restroom/shower. It was clean and beautifully finished, more like a residential than a commercial bathroom. We would return. Many sites had cement patios and tables. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a lovely RV park. I would give it a 10 if it had a fenced dog run. There are large grassy areas both in the park and adjacent to the park to walk the dogs. This park is right next to both a side road and the interstate so there is a lot of noise. The people in the office are amazing and worked very hard to accommodate our needs and desires. We were unable to check out on time and the office was very understanding. No extra charge for late check-out. THEY ONLY TAKE CASH OR CHECKS. The interior roads are easy to navigate with easy in and out. There is a fairly steep hill at the entrance. We've stayed here before and will be happy to return. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here for only two nights as we passed through headed for a long trip to do fall colors in N.E.. Friendly and professional staff, nice sized pull through, (our site lacked sewer but there is a dump station). Set in amongst the trees the pads are level and sufficiently wide/long to accommodate. Would stay here again. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Although it doesn't look like much from the highway, this is a very nice RV park. The front spots are pretty close together and plain, but the back area is shaded and very nice (but the back area sites do not have sewer.) We stayed for 3 weeks and paid for a month ($475) because it was cheaper than the weekly rate ($210). The ladies who worked in the front office were both very helpful and kind. The bathrooms are available for a charge for those in full-hookup sites, but are free for those in non-sewer sites. They were the cleanest I'd seen. They're private full baths (sink, shower, toilet) with keypad locks and a deadbolt. Verizon and T-Mobile signals were both great, and accessibility to the highway and Kansas City is easy. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice park just off I-49. The owner was very nice. He would have taken us to our site but we arrived during the lunch hour and he was the only one there. Finding the site on our own was really easy anyway. The park is very clean with smooth rock roads. Sites are rock and most are fairly level. We just overnighted here so I can't comment on the restrooms and showers. This is a cash or check only park. No cards. We will definitely stay here again when through this area. Beautiful RV park! The park is terraced so every site has a view. Even the dog walk areas are pretty.

They stay pretty full with some full-timers and semi-full-timers so it's best to make reservations. The owner has purchased 15 adjoining acres and is currently working on that to create additional spaces.

I usually consider it a big down side for a park to have a lot of full-time campers but the full-time people in this campground are neat and keep their sites clean.

The sites are long and level.

We would definitely stay here again if the need arose. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Good Sam rate. Used as an overnight stop. Convenient to interstate, which is nice if you don't mind the constant sound of traffic. Helpful staff and clean sites and grounds. Easy to maneuver a large rig through their park. All gravel, but nice level sites. Concrete picnic tables and benches. Did not use showers, restroom or laundry, so cannot rate those items. Only 5-10 miles to decent restaurants and shopping. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy in and out. Staff was very accommodating. Clean, secure, with excellent level pull throughs and an equal number of back in sites also. EXCELLENT WIFI! Very fast. Stayed here for one night on our way through town. Like others said, there is some interstate noise, but you really can't hear it unless you are outside. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and a little grass- that's about all, but the hookups work fine. This is not a "camping destination" but works fine for an overnight stop. Easy access to the interstate with a Flying J nearby. Laundry is open 24 hours. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate shown is based on weekly rate. Nicely maintained park. It is close to I-49 so road noise is an issue. Roads are gravel as are the sites. The sites are long enough for big rigs to stay connected and level with ample spacing between them. In the pull thru section there are not many trees so you can use your satellite. If you want shade you will probably want to get one of the back-in sites. Each site has a concrete patio with nice stone table and bench. Wi-Fi is free and very fast (one of the better I have seen for an RV park). Park has some long term residents but the sites are nicely kept. Many overnighters use the park as it close to all the major interstates in the Kansas City area. If you do not mind road noise I would highly recommend this park. This is a clean, well-run park. Our site was level and easy to get into. The staff are all friendly and are welcoming to their guests. The owner understands full-timers and their needs. The Wi-Fi was good most of the time and our Verizon broadband worked very well. Campers in the park were mostly long-term people who worked in the area. They were quiet. The only negatives were noise from the nearby highway and the fact there was only one individual restroom and shower for men, one for women. The the floor was not clean. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Peculiar Park Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
