This is a great park. Check in was literally less than two minutes. Our site was easy to find and easy to get into.... although they are somewhat close together. The office has a good assortment of supplies and parts... and they will deliver firewood, propane, or whatever you need to your site. Because of the closeness of the sites... our neighbors sewer connection was only a few feet away from our patio and table... Which can make for a smelly breakfast if your neighbor is trying to get dumped and leave first thing in the morning. However, I would definitely recommend this park, and would stay here again. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We RV'd at this KOA the 1st weekend of June, for 2 nights in a 22' Class C, with no toad. Arrived quite late Friday night - around 11-11:30PM. the office was closed of course, but much to my surprise there was still an attendant on duty to help get us into our site and situated. Site was gravel and level enough to not be worth fussing with, especially late at night. One of the nice things about this KOA is that nearly all of the sites have a concrete pad with real patio furniture on them (though ours still had an older wooden picnic table). Grounds and facilities were impeccable as usual, and the staff friendly and helpful. The pull-through sites are of the usual modern-day "rack n' stack" style, but the afore-mentioned patios, grassy areas and ample tree cover make them feel more spacious than they are. There is a train track right next to the property that goes by frequently, and fast, with a non-gated crossing - which means they have to blast the horn 3 long blasts right next to the grounds. Trains don't bother me, but YMMV. I've been staying at this KOA around the same weekend, off and on, for about 25 years. It's still one of my favorite private campgrounds to stay at. One of the things I like best about this location is that they still seem to draw a very diverse range of customers. There's the usual huge diesel pushers but you can also find smaller C's and B campers, even tenters still show up here. This was the 1st year I've stayed in a fully-equipped RV. I'm in town every year for a big vintage VW show, so I've always stayed in an old VW Westfalia before. If I HAD to quibble about something, it would be that their 3(!) dog runs are almost comically small compared to the available space here. (but otherwise they ARE very pet-friendly here) And, of course, the FLOODLIGHTS & streetlights! I felt sorry for the camper vans in sites 1-5. They must have felt like they were about to get abducted by aliens. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Small, quiet park that has the feeling of an old camping area. Lots of trees and green areas (we ae from AZ). They have 3 fenced dog areas, all nice sized. Plenty of spaces between sites. Drawback was the trains, very close and schedule not predictable. Our site was not near level, front to back. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This is our second time staying here. It is very close to Springfield so handy to camp here when you're doing things in Springfield & vicinity. Park is pretty nice with lots of trees. Couldn't use our satellite because of the trees but they have cable which was fine with us. Wifi was pretty good. Clean with lots of places to walk the dog. Park staff is very friendly & helpful! They fix pizza in the office & will deliver it right to your campsite - and it is good! Showers & bathrooms were nice & clean. The only drawback to this place is the very active train tracks that run right beside the campground - with trains whistling through many, many times a night! Not far from I-44 but didn't notice too much highway traffic noise. It is also close to the airport so some planes flew over but not bad. We will definately stay here again - the train noise can be loud but overall the good far outweighs that. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Park is small but easily maneuverable with mainly pull through sites (gravel) and nice picnic tables and chairs. Wi-Fi is good but didn't use cable. Main issue is this park has a lot of train noise from passing trains. It's not overwhelming but still pretty noticeable. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Nice park if you like planes, trains and automobiles. Its next to a main rail line, under the final approach to the airport and a mile or so off the interstate. The park itself is really nice and staff is professional and friendly. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We stopped for just one night. This is a beautiful campground with very wide, level sites. Cable and WiFi were both excellent reception. The office makes pizza on site and delivers to your RV! Yum! However, my only complaint was the price. Ii know this is a Holiday KOA but it was freezing cold. We didn't hook up to the sewer nor could we use any of the amenities. I feel for off season this price could have been a bit lower. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

First timers at this RV Park. Folks are very friendly. They gave us a site that was easy to get to (40' fifth wheel) and we had plenty of space. Nice surprise was they deliver pizza and wings right to your RV. The place is easy to find and tucked away from traffic, BUT, it is very close to the airport so expect some plane nosie. The campground is nice and clean but really packed in. There is open space away from the sites for walking and even a fenced in pet run area. Managers were very friendly and helpful. The only thing that really annoyed us was there is a train crossing directly across the street from the campground and the trains blow their whistles 4 times when they go past the crossing which is every 45 minutes or so all night long. We were going to stay 2 nights but cut it short because of the train noise in the middle of the night. Otherwise it was a nice place to stop at but not to get decent sleep. Good site park that was clean and had great staff. Our pull thru was plenty long, gravel, fairly level, patio and nice picnic table. Free wi-fi and cable, dog park and plenty of shade. Located conveniently right off I-44. Small store and food service available ( pizza and wings). Good for an overnight. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park in remote area but be ready for aircraft noise and train whistles all day. We are used to the noise so it did not bother us. Our site was narrow but had lots of fir trees shade. Neighbors are very close. Site was long enough for us. Wifi and cable were very good. The rest of the park had all the KOA type stuff. We would stay again. Typical KOA, sites too close and overpriced. However, office staff was friendly and utilities worked well. Site was ok but sloped slightly. Lots of tress, so we didn't even try the satellite, but cable TV was clear and had many choices. Wi-Fi was fast and easy to connect. Convenient to I-44. We normally try to avoid KOA's but sometimes we can't. If in the area again, we would stay again. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Wilson's Creek Battlefield is nearby and worth a visit. It has a nice visitor's center and good little museum, with a driving tour of major sites of the battle. While not a well known battle, it was a very important early battle (Aug. 1861) that kept Missouri in the Union.

Close to I-44 but trees block the noise. However the nearby railroad is very active in daytime. Access to the pool is gained by tall people who can reach the top of the gate, keeping children from sneaking in. It was fairly easy to navigate Springfield for any of our needs.I would use this park again. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We made a last minute, same day reservation. When we arrived our reservation and site was ready. All the staff were extremely professional and helpful. This was our first time ever at a KOA. Very impressed with services and staff. Offer delivery of items in store to your site during store hours. Did not use this service however, very impressed that it exists. Site was wonderful for 35 foot. Sites are close to each other but not so close to be uncomfortable. Highly recommend them. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.
