Good site park that was clean and had great staff. Our pull thru was plenty long, gravel, fairly level, patio and nice picnic table. Free wi-fi and cable, dog park and plenty of shade. Located conveniently right off I-44. Small store and food service available ( pizza and wings). Good for an overnight. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park in remote area but be ready for aircraft noise and train whistles all day. We are used to the noise so it did not bother us. Our site was narrow but had lots of fir trees shade. Neighbors are very close. Site was long enough for us. Wifi and cable were very good. The rest of the park had all the KOA type stuff. We would stay again. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Typical KOA, sites too close and overpriced. However, office staff was friendly and utilities worked well. Site was ok but sloped slightly. Lots of tress, so we didn't even try the satellite, but cable TV was clear and had many choices. Wi-Fi was fast and easy to connect. Convenient to I-44. We normally try to avoid KOA's but sometimes we can't. If in the area again, we would stay again. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Wilson's Creek Battlefield is nearby and worth a visit. It has a nice visitor's center and good little museum, with a driving tour of major sites of the battle. While not a well known battle, it was a very important early battle (Aug. 1861) that kept Missouri in the Union.

Close to I-44 but trees block the noise. However the nearby railroad is very active in daytime. Access to the pool is gained by tall people who can reach the top of the gate, keeping children from sneaking in. It was fairly easy to navigate Springfield for any of our needs.I would use this park again. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Wilson's Creek Battlefield: great Civil War history lesson. Check out BYOPizza on Jefferson near Missouri State. Excellent! They use the Subway model of making pizza your way for one price. And it is baked in 90 seconds.

We made a last minute, same day reservation. When we arrived our reservation and site was ready. All the staff were extremely professional and helpful. This was our first time ever at a KOA. Very impressed with services and staff. Offer delivery of items in store to your site during store hours. Did not use this service however, very impressed that it exists. Site was wonderful for 35 foot. Sites are close to each other but not so close to be uncomfortable. Highly recommend them. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

This whole place is buried in the trees. If you have any interest in using your satellite dish, go somewhere else. I requested a site that would be open to the sky. When checking in I was assured that site 22 would be open so I could get satellite connection. My dish (and entire coach) were completely covered in the trees. A coax cable for TV was laying across sites 21 and 22. They had cut the real cable and told us we would see that extra cable, but did not say how we would connect. I figured it out. These people don't know their own park and don't understand RVs. Utilities worked fine. Clearly, like many KOAs, this place is a grossly overpriced mediocre facility. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Love this park. it is always clean and pretty. The staff is great, the owners are fantastic and all are extremely helpful. all the sites are pull through, they have a ton of camping areas and some really cute cabins for rent. They have full laundry (4 washer, 3 large dryers), a small store, Hunt Pizza and tons of things for kids. Pool is open Memorial to Labor day. They do have free WIFI, however it rarely seems to work or is strong enough to use. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This Park is secluded in the middle of a corn field... we were just passing thru and they were able to accomodate us with a site that we wouldn't have to unhook...still heard traffic off in the distance but it wasn't bad. Pool was closed. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Did an overnight stay. If your experience is anything like ours don't trust the GPS, as the campground is south of the interstate, not north. Campground is easy in and out with good access to I-44. We had a spacious pull-through with reasonable shade. The trains are pretty close and can get obnoxious. Light sleepers may have a problem, as the tracks are frequently used. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We would use this location again as an overnight but would have to consider a different location for longer stays due to the trains. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, and for staying with us during your recent visit to the Springfield area. We greatly appreciate your feedback on using your GPS as well as the other tips you provided, we are always looking to our guests for suggestions on how we can improve and that includes getting you here safely! We do have some nearby trains that come through but many of our guests who stay more than one night tell us they get used to them so we hope you'll reconsider coming back to us for a longer vacation. We wish you all the best and safe travels!

Road to the Campground is narrow but there was no traffic so no problem. We had a deluxe site so it was a spacious pull-through. The trains are close and noisy. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The other sites looked narrow and close to trees. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

They did not give us the KOA discount, and I did purchase the year membership by phone when I booked our trip reservations before we left. Otherwise the experience was very positive. We did not have a toad. We did use the laundry facility, it was clean and reasonably priced. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Since we were just stopping overnight the Thursday before Memorial Day, we took a water/electric only site, 30 amp at that. However, we were charged a holiday rate, so we didn't really save anything.

We have stayed here before and like the convenience of the place, just off I-44. Plus the Hunt's pizza delivered to our coach. The campground is located near a railroad crossing, but you get used to the blaring train horns.

The sites are narrow and short. There is barely enough room to get your tow off the road if you have a motorhome of any length. The gravel pads are rutted, but leveling was not a problem. The water connection was almost at ground level. The interior gravel roads are tight and overhanging branches are a concern.

There is a large car show in Springfield that weekend, and many of the cars stay at this campground. There are some real neat cars. That is until they fire them up at 6am to go to breakfast.

The staff is friendly and helpful. We camped at Springfield / Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, and for staying with us during your recent visit to the Springfield area. Please accept our apologies that your campsite was not as perfect as we would have hoped. We do assign sites based on the type of rig you specify during the reservation and would have done our best to move you to a larger site if you had let us know during your stay. We have passed along your comments regarding the other areas of concern and will do our best to improve for future guests.

Nice older park. Close to highway. Gravel, somewhat unlevel sites. Lots of shade and good area for pets. Trains? Yes there is! Sounds like it's going thru the middle of the park, horn blowing, so if you are a light sleeper don't stay here. Sites are a little tight to get out of due to trees.
